다양하고 심각한 훼손 상태에 있는 금석문 이미지들은 전통적이고 일반적인 이미지 향상이나 복원 기법들을 적용하기에 적절하지가 않다. 이런 점에서 본 연구에서는 현재까지 적용되고 있는 노이즈제거 이미지 향상 기법들을 교차적으로 적용하여 이를 통해 향상된 이미지를 합성하는 기법을 적용하여 금석문 이미지의 개선을 시도하였다. 결과에 보고된 한자 좌(左), 경시(境詩) 과 같이 threshholding 이나 contrast stretching 을 이용해서 확연히 그이미지를 인식해 낼 수 있는 경우에는 이들 방법만을 적용하여 이미지 향상의 효과를 확인할 수 있었다. 그리고 노이즈가 극히 심한 파주염씨 비문 탁본의 crop image 인 고려(高麗)라는 글자의 경우, thresholding, contrast stretching, edge detection, pesudo coloring 을 통해 조금씩 향상된 이미지를 merging 하는 방법으로 비교적 양호한 결과에 도달할 수 있었다.

생체 내에서 질병 발생은 다양한 요인들의 복합적인 작용에 의해 발생한다. 하지만, 대부분의 질병 관련 원인을 발견하고자하는 연구들에서는 여러 요인들의 다양한 조합들을 복합적으로 고려하여 분석하기에는 한계가 있는 경우가 많다. 단 하나의 질병 관련 요인들을 찾는 것에 그치고 있다. 본 연구에서는 유전체 정보과 임상 정보를 이용하여 질병 분류 모델 기반 인자 조합들의 진화적 학습 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법을 이용하여 본 연구에서는 질병 관련 주요 인자를 찾고, 이를 시각화할 수 있는 시스템을 만드는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구를 통해 정확도 높은 당뇨병 환자군 분류 모델을 만들고, 당뇨병 발생에 중요한 영향을 미치는 인자들의 조합을 찾을 수 있었다. 또한 생물학적인 분석을 통해 본 연구에서 찾은 인자들의 조합이 실제로도 당뇨병 발생에 영향을 미치는 인자가 될 수 있음을 확인하고, 특히 각 인자들이 하나씩 존재할 때보다, 조합으로 존재할 경우 당뇨병 발생 가능성이 높아질 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. Most diseases are caused by complex processes of various factors. Although previous researches have tried to identify the causes of the disease, there are still lots of limitations to clarify the complex factors. Here, we present a disease classification model based on an evolutionary learning approach of combinatorial features using the datasets from the genetics and cohort studies. We implemented a system for finding the combinatorial risk factors and visualizing the results. Our results show that the proposed method not only improves classification accuracy but also identifies biologically meaningful sets of risk factors.
Characteristics of Spent Foundry Sand - Loess Mixture as Ceramic Support Materials

<P>Spent foundry sand (SFS) from cast iron industry mixed with loess was characterized to recycle spent foundry sand as ceramic support materials. Since SFS mostly consists of sand including binding agents and residue [1], it was used as permeable media, and loess, which has highly adsorptive and reactive properties, was used as support materials Leaching tests such as Korean Leaching Test (KLT) and TCLP (Toxicity Characteristics Leaching Procedure) showed that spent foundry sands from cast iron industry were not hazardous. Turbidity in furan sand was much higher than that in other sands, and turbidity was almost not changed with increasing amount of loess. The order of ORP (oxidation-reduction potential) in spent foundry sands was green sand > furan sand > CO2 sand. ORP was decreased with the amount of sand in furan sand and CO2 sand but was increased with the amount of sand in green sand. Hence, mixture of SFS and loess can be used as ceramic support materials with reductive or oxidative capability.</P>

This paper examines a problem in the interaction betwen a soil medium that experiences frost heave and thaw settlementconsidering a corrosion pit on a pipe wal. The comparative analysis of the theory and the actual performances was valuablein that it established a level of confidence in the aplication of the introduced theory to the field. The numerical results showthe influence of frost heave and thaw settlement of a granite soil medium on a temperature-dependent stress field on a wallof a pipeline buried in South Korea.
Pt계 촉매를 이용한 직접 개미산 연료전지의 특성 연구

Direct Formic Acid Fuel Cells (DFAFCs) are potential alternative power sources for potable devices such as cellular phones, personal digital assistants (PDA) and laptop computers. In this study, we investigated the effect of the anode catalysts on the performance of direct formic acid fuel cell. We made the Pt-Pd catalysts using deposition method for the investigation of the fuel cell performance as a change of temperature and oxidant. Fuel cell with Pt-Pd anode catalyst showed the performance of 120 mW/㎠at room temperature. This result was much higher value than that of Pt-Ru catalyst which showed the best performance of commercial catalyst in our previous works. For this reason, we can conclude that the Pt-Pd catalyst is an excellent material for the oxidation of formic acid.

<P>Aptamer-based paper strip sensor for detecting <I>Vibrio fischeri</I> was developed. Our method was based on the aptamer sandwich assay between whole live cells, <I>V. fischeri</I> and DNA aptamer probes. Following 9 rounds of Cell-SELEX and one of the negative-SELEX, <I>V. fischeri</I> Cell Aptamer (VFCA)-02 and -03 were isolated, with the former showing approximately 10-fold greater avidity (in the subnanomolar range) for the target cells when arrayed on a surface. The colorimetric response of a paper sensor based on VFCA-02 was linear in the range of 4 × 10<SUP>1</SUP> to 4 × 10<SUP>5</SUP> CFU/mL of target cell by using scanning reader. The linear regression correlation coefficient (<I>R</I><SUP>2</SUP>) was 0.9809. This system shows promise for use in aptamer-conjugated gold nanoparticle probes in paper strip format for in-field detection of marine bioindicating bacteria.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>
