The Talamban Campus of the University of San Carlos is a large site and locating specific places around the school campus becomes a difficult task. To solve this problem studies have been made regarding the development of a computerized mapping system for the Talamban Campus but they were not used by the general public. This study, entitled “Touchscreen Campus Mapper”(TSCM), aims to make a system that is faster and more usable than the previous “Nicole” Path Locator System by using c/c++ and redesigning the back-end system using the Simple DirectMedia Layer for graphics manipulation in the User Client Application, using the Qt Framework in designing the system, using the User Centered System Design (UCSD) process model in designing the user interfaces. The User Client Application is implemented in a touchscreen for easier use. Following the iterative process of UCSD feedbacks were obtained that improved the usability of the system. The TSCM system was able to perform faster than “Nicole” Path Locator. The TSCM received a high mark in usability during its User Acceptance Test. Like “Nicole” the TSCM also allows new maps to be added continually widening its scope. Based on the results the Touchscreen Campus Mapper system was able to improve in terms of both performance and usability compared to the “Nicole” Path Locator system.
