In continuation of our endeavor to develop new, potent, selective and less toxic antiviral agents, a novel series of 2-(2-amino/chloro-4-(2,4-dibromophenyl) thiazol-5-ylthio)acetamide derivatives was synthesized via an expeditious route and evaluated for their anti-HIV activities against wild-type virus and clinically relevant mutant strains, and for their anti-influenza virus activities against influenza A (H1N1 and H3N2) and influenza B in cellular assays. The selected active compounds were also assayed for their enzymic inhibitory activities. The results showed that some 2-chloro substituted thiazolylthioacetamide derivatives possessed potent activity against wild type HIV-1 and several key mutant strains (E138K, K103N, L100I) of HIV-1 in MT-4 cells with EC50 values in micromolar range. Two 2-amino substituted thiazole derivatives 8a7 and 8a8 displayed significant potency against influenza A/H1N1 in MDCK cells with EC50 values much lower than that of oseltamivir carboxylate, ribavirin, amantadine and rimantadine. Though the mechanism of actions is still unclear, these novel thiazolylthioacetamides might serve as original leads for further pharmacological investigations as potential therapeutic agents against HIV-1 or influenza virus.

For the problem that the use effect of food processing information system is poor due to absence of knowledge acquisition measures and knowledge self-updating function, a knowledge acquisition approach based on rough set is put forward. First, the approach establishes a set of predicted samples for the relationship between food processing parameters and product quality; then uses the discretization of continuous attribute, attribute reduction and rule extraction algorithm of rough set to acquire automatically predicted knowledge from a large number of predicted sample sets, and then saves the predicted knowledge in the knowledge base of expert system; finally, realizes the extraction of knowledge of food processing process based on the inference engine, which greatly enhances the effectiveness and practicality of the acquired knowledge in online aided decision system of the food processing quality and safety.

High-speed electromagnetic actuator (HEA) is the key component of Electronic fuel injection system (EFIS) of diesel engine, its dynamic performances have a significant impact on the control accuracy and flexible control law of fuel injection. In order to obtain the higher dynamic response speed, lower power consumption, higher safety and reliability, a novel HEA with permanent magnet (NPMHEA) was proposed based on the principle of parallel magnetic circuit in this paper. Then the simulation models of HEA coupling of magnetic field, electric circuit and mechanical motion were developed by the method of time-stepping finite element, and their precisions were verified by experiment. By the comparative analysis, influence rules of key parameters on the dynamic performances of HEA have been established. In addition, the multi-objective optimization of NPMHEA based on response surface methodology and Genetic algorithm (GA) was carried out and the Pareto optimal solution set was obtained. It is concluded that there are contradictions between objectives for the Pareto optimal solutions; considering the whole performances, the optimal solution is determined for which the peak current, the peak pulse and the hold current reduce by 20.5 %, 7.8 % and 43.9 %, respectively, and the actuation response speed quickens by 11.9 %, significantly reducing the power consumption and coil loss and improving the dynamic response speed of HEA. It decisively provides certain theoretical guidance for the design and optimization of HEA.

This paper studies the tracking control problem of hypersonic vehicle in the process of external disturbance, parameters uncertainties and actuator faults. Firstly, a non-triangular velocity and altitude nonlinear subsystem with mismatched disturbances and actuator faults are established based on the feedback linearization model. Secondly, adaptive dynamic surface fault-tolerant controllers are designed for velocity and altitude subsystems by combining nonlinear filter, adaptive control and back-stepping method. Finally, the Lyapunov stability theory and numercial simulation are carried out to verify the availability of the proposed control strategy.

mTOR, the mammalian target of rapamycin, is a conserved serine/threonine kinase which belongs to the phosphatidyl-linositol kinase-related kinase (PIKK) family. It has two complexes called mTORC1 and mTORC2. It is well established that mTOR plays important roles in cell growth, proliferation and differentiation. Over-activation of the mTOR pathway is considered to have a relationship with the development of many types of diseases, including polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and ovarian cancer (OC). mTOR pathway inhibitors, such as rapamycin and its derivatives, can directly or indirectly treat or relieve the symptoms of patients suffering from PCOS or OC. Moreover, mTOR inhibitors in combination with other chemical-molecular agents may have extraordinary efficacy. This paper will discuss links between mTOR signaling and PCOS and OC, and explore the mechanisms of mTOR inhibitors in treating these two diseases, with conclusions regarding the most effective therapeutic approaches.

H-shaped amphiphilic pentablock copolymers (PSt)2-b-PCL-b-PEO-b-PCL-b-(PSt)2 was synthesized via chemoenzymatic method by combining enzyme-catalyzed ring-opening polymerization (eROP) of ε-caprolactone (ε-CL) and atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of styrene. By this process, we obtained copolymers with controlled molecular weight and low polydispersity. The structure and composition of the obtained copolymers were characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and infrared spectroscopy analysis (IR). The crystallization behavior of the copolymers was analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The crystallization behavior of the H-shaped block copolymers demonstrated a PCL dominate crystallization. The self-assembly behavior of the copolymers was investigated in aqueous media. The hydrodynamic diameters of the copolymer micelles in aqueous solution were measured by dynamic light scattering (DLS). The morphology of the copolymer micelles was observed by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The hydrodynamic diameters of spherical micelles declined gradually with the increase of the hydrophobic chain lengths of the copolymers. The critical micelle concentration (CMC) values were determined from fluorescence emission, and it was found that the CMCs decreased with an increase of PSt hydrophobic block lengths.
Analytical modeling of axial stiffness of tensile bolted joints under concentric external load

Stiffness of bolted joints is a critical parameter for determining deformations and natural frequencies of assemblies. In this study, the effect of external load on axial stiffness of bolted joints is clarified theoretically for the first time. The stiffness of stress zones between and beyond load planes is derived on the basis of the strain energy method and used to formulate the stiffness of bolted joints. The influence of the distance between the load planes of the external load, axial positions of the external load, and difference in the material of the clamped parts on the stiffness of the bolted joints are investigated by applying the proposed formulations and finite element method. Comparisons with finite element results indicate that the proposed formulation can accurately predict the stiffness of the bolted joints.
The Structural Design of "China Zun" Tower, Beijing

The "China Zun" tower in Beijing will rise to 528 meters in height and will be the tallest building in Beijing once built. Inspired by an ancient Chinese vessel, the "Zun", the plan dimensions reduce gradually from the bottom of the tower to the waist and then expand again as it rises to form an aesthetically beautiful and unique geometry. To satisfy the structural requirement for seismic and wind resistance, the structure is a dual system composed of a perimeter mega structure made of composite mega columns, mega braces, and belt trusses, and a reinforced-concrete core with steel plate-embedded walls. Advanced parametric design technology is applied to find the most efficient outer-perimeter structure system. The seismic design basically follows a mixed empirical and performance-based methodology that was verified by a shaking table test and other specimen lab tests. The tower is now half-way through its construction.
