연구개발사업의 성과를 평가하려면 성과를 분석할 수 있는 모형이 필요하다. 정보통신기술 표준화 분야에서도 매년 많은 예산이 투입되어 연구개발이 이루어지는데, 이러한 사업의 성과를 평가할 수 있는 모형이 아직까지 없는 실정이다. 그래서 본 논문에서는 표준화 연구개발사업의 성과를 평가할 수 있는 성과모형을 제시하였다. 이 모형은 기본적으로 연구개발가치평가기법(RVM)을 기반으로 하여 표준화의 특성을 감안한 방향으로 만들어졌다. 표준화 연구개발사업 성과지표는 크게 산출(outputs)과 결과(outcomes)로 구성된다. 또한 성과측정의 절차는 성과모형 설정, 측정방법 선택, 개발사례 분석의 단계로 이루어진다. 성과모형은 측정이 진행되는 과정에서 반복적으로 수정되는 모형이다.
Urine and Hair Metal Concentrations in Subjects with Long Term Intake of Herbal Medicine

One of the main attractions of treatment with herbal medicine is its apparent lack of side effects compared with the drug therapies used in allopathic medicine. However, evidence from various countries suggest that Asian herbal medicine carry a significant risk of contamination with toxic heavy metals at levels that may seriously threaten health. The aims of this study were to analyze and compare concentrations of heavy metals in urine and hair from 184 patients taking herbal medicines in the form of decoctions and/or pills in comparison to 101 control subjects taking either Western or no medications. Levels of metal concentrations exceeding WHO reference values were observed in a number of hair and urine samples for all subjects. After adjusting for potential confounders, taking decoctions or pills was associated with higher levels of some metals (such as Cu, Pb in urine), as well a higher odds ratio of exceeding the upper limit of reference ranges for Pb, Hg in hair. In contrast, taking decoctions or pills was associated with lower levels of some metals (such as Cu in urine and Cd, Cu, Hg, Pb in hair), suggesting that some herbal medicines may have a chelating effect on heavy metals in the body. Overall, the results obtained in the study show a mixed picture and suggest that heavy metals contamination in herbs is sometimes present, but may also be counteracted by the potential for some herbal medicines to act as chelating agents. Further study must be followed to obtain more concrete evidence.

The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics of the tourist environment in Gunsan City and to increase the value of tourism to attract visitors' preferences and to establish links with the local community. First, based on the physical environment characteristics of the railroad village in Kyouam - dong, it is necessary to develop the physical environment characteristics by empirically identifying the causal relationship with the tourist value felt by tourists. Second, I will present the grounds for establishing tourism marketing strategy by enhancing tourism value and establishing community linkage by empirically identifying the causality that the tourism value formed through the visit of the railroad village in Kyouam - dong influences the community linkage. In order to elucidate the results of this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate the relationship between the physical environment characteristics of tourist sites and tourism value and community linkage in the railway village of Gyeongam - dong in Gunsan city. The main results of this study are as follows. First, to improve the tourism value among the characteristics of tourist environment, the most important factor is to improve the comfort. Second, accessibility affects emotional value only. Third, convenience of tourism value has no effect on all factors. Fourth, tourism value is influenced by all factors in community linkage. Emotional value has the greatest effect on tourism value. Lastly, the factors affecting the local community were convenience and accessibility.
Resveratrol at H igh D oses Acts as an Apoptotic Inducer in Endothelial Cells

Purposes: Resveratrol is a phenolic compound found ingrapes and other food products. In order to assess the availability of resveratrol as an angio-inhibiting drug, we examined whether resveratrol plays an important role in bovine aortic endothelial cells (BAECs) for cell apoptosis and cell migration.Methods and Materials: Endothelial cell apoptosis was observed as detected by the Hoechst staining and the caspase-3 activity. Additionally, Western blotting was performed for monitoring the activities of various cell signaling molecules. Results: Resveratrol was shown to act as a pro-apoptotic agent. The pro-apoptotic effect of resveratrol was as great as that of etoposide, a well-known anti-cancer drug. In addition, resveratrol had an inhibitory effect on endothelial cell migration. The demonstrated efficacy of resveratrol suggests that resveratrol may be utilized as an anti-angiogenic drug. To determine the underlying mechanisms, we further investigated which signaling molecules are activated by resveratrol. Extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) was activated by the treatment with resveratrol in BAECs, whereas endothelial nitric oxide synthetase (eNOS), Akt, and Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) were inhibited. The pretreatment with PD compound, an ERK inhibitor, had no effect on the pro-apoptosis induced by resveratrol. Conclusion: Resveratrol plays an important role in endothelial cell apoptosis, indicating that resveratrol can be utilized as a potent anti-angiogenic drug. (Cancer Res Treat. 2006;38:48-53)
Effect of wild ginseng on scopolamine-induced acetylcholine depletion in the rat hippocampus.

<P>Objectives The ameliorating effects of wild ginseng on learning and memory deficits were investigated in rats. Methods Rats were treated daily with wild ginseng or cultivated ginseng for 7 days at 30 min before scopolamine injection (2 mg/kg, i.p.). After inducing cognitive impairment by the administration of scopolamine, behavioural assessment using the Morris water maze was performed. Changes in cholinergic system reactivity were also examined by measuring the immunoreactive neurons of choline acetyltransferase and the reactivity of acetylcholinesterase in the hippocampus. Key findings Scopolamine injection induced impaired performance in the water maze test and severe cell losses in hippocampal cholinergic neurons, as indicated by decreased choline acetyltransferase immunoreactivity and increased acetylcholinesterase reactivity. Daily administration of wild ginseng produced a significant improvement in the escape latency for finding the platform in the Morris water maze and reduced the loss of cholinergic immunoreactivity in the hippocampus. The reduced expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor mRNA due to the scopolamine injection was recovered to normal levels by the administration of wild ginseng. Conclusions Wild ginseng demonstrates a significant neuroprotective effect against scopolamine-induced neuronal and cognitive impairment.</P>
