BC absorption aerosol optical depth (AAODBC) defines the share of BC in radiation absorption and is retrievable using sun/sky radiometer measurements provided by AErosol RObotic NETwork (AERONET). In this study, AAODBC was estimated using AERONET-retrieved depolarization ratio (DPR), single scattering albedo (SSA, ω), and Ångström Exponent (AE) of version 3 level 2.0 products over East Asia, Europe, and India during 2000-2018. The variations in AAODBC indicated higher values over Beijing (higher than 0.08) and the Indian sites (between 0.03-0.09) compared to the other sites. We found a declining tendency in AAODBC over Thessaloniki (-0.001 yr<SUP>-1</SUP>), Beijing (-0.003 yr<SUP>-1</SUP>), and Seoul (-0.0016 yr<SUP>-1</SUP>) from 2000 to 2018, with the highest values over Beijing. We concluded that the higher AAODBC over China and India results from the massive local BC emissions in association with industrial and residential sectors, vehicular activities, biomass burning, and fossil fuel combustion. The downward trend in AAODBC might be attributable to government pollution control policies, specifically in China. The AAODBC at Beijing and the Indian sites showed a clear seasonal pattern indicating the notable role of residential heating in BC emissions related to coal-based fuel consumption during winter.
AERONET 선포토미터 자료를 이용한 국내 에어로졸 유형별 특성과 광학적 두께 변화 연구

본 연구는 국내 최초로 안면도, 고산, 광주, 서울에서 측정된 AERONET 선포토미터 자료를 편광소멸도(δ)와 단산란 알베도(SSA)를 이용하여 에어로졸의 유형을 PD, DDM, PDM, NA, WA, MA, SA의 7가지 유형으로 구분하고 계절별, 연도별 발생빈도와 유형별 AOD변화를 살펴보았다. 오염입자(NA, WA, MA, SA를 합한 비율)의 비율은 각각 58.9, 46.2, 59.5, 67.1%로 서울이 가장 높고 고산이 가장 낮았다. 연간 비율 변화는 NA는 증가하고 PD, DDM은 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 유형별 AOD는 NA가 모든 사이트에서 가장 높은 값을 보였다. 또한, NA의 비율과 AOD는 지속적으로 증가하는 추세를 보였다. For the first time in Korea, aerosol type was separated as PD (Pure dust), DDM (Dust Dominant Mixed), PDM (Pollution Dominant Mixed), NA (Non-Absorbing), WA (Weakly Absorbing), MA (Moderately Absorbing), and SA (Strongly Absorbing) using depolarization ratio and single-scattering albedo based on AERONET sunphotometer data. Then, seasonal and annual occurrence frequency and AOD variation are analyzed. The proportion of pollution aerosols (NA, WA, MA, SA combined) was 58.9, 46.2, 59.5, and 67.1% at Anmyeon, Gosan, Gwangju, Seoul, respectively, with Seoul being the highest and the lowest at Gosan. Annual rate changestended to increase NA and decrease PD and DDM. The AOD by type showed the highest NA at all sites. In addition, the ratio of NA and AOD continued to increase.
