Structure of Mono-Hydrated Aniline Dimer Cation

Photodissociation spectroscopy of mono-hydrated aniline dimer (An2W+) cation was performed to determine its most stable structure and the charge resonance (CR) interaction therein. In its photodissociation action spectrum, two local excitation (LE) bands at ?1.9?eV (656?nm) and?>3.0?eV (<420?nm), previously assigned to 2?? 1 and 1?? 1 transition, respectively, for aniline dimer (An2+), were also observed for An2W+. On the other hand, the absorption band at ?1.12?eV (1110?nm) from the CR interaction reported for An2+ disappeared in case of An2W+. Based on this infrared photodissociation action spectra supported by quantum chemical calculations, we suggest that the most stable structure of An2W+ maintains the stacked structure of An2+ but H2O molecule connected to the amino group of aniline molecule via hydrogen bonding plays a role to suppress the CR interaction.

We have studied H-bonded structural rearrangement in the S0, S1, and D0 states of neutral and cationic aniline+(H2O)n (n = 0–12) clusters by adopting density functional (DFT) and time-dependent DFT (TD-DFT) theory. DFT-calculated structural rearrangement energies (SRE) increased sharply for n = 1, 2, remained nearly the same until n = 9, and increased again from n = 10 to larger clusters. This indicates that the intramolecular vibrational modes play a central role in the rearrangement energy. On the other hand, DFT-calculated thermochemical data confirmed that there is no significant change in enthalpy (H), Gibb’s free energy (G), and entropy (S) for neutral and ionized clusters. The maximum UV absorption wavelength, λmax red-shifted gradually with the increase of cluster size with respect to aniline as the hydration reduces the excitation energies. On the other hand, there was no significant change in the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO)-lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energy gap.

Educational institutions play a critical role in national development through the advancement of skilled human resources and intellectual society. The number of higher educational institutions (HEIs) is increasing significantly in Bangladesh. Students have a number of options from which to select their preferred educational institutions. Hence, HEIs should think about the quality of services they provide to students. The objective of this study is to measure students’ satisfaction and university reputation through service quality (SQ) in a private higher educational institution (PriHEI) in Bangladesh. Primary data was collected from 270 students of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC), Bangladesh, through a simple random sampling technique. In this study, data was analyzed through descriptive statistics, correlation, measurement model using confirmatory factor analyses, and structural equation modeling (SEM). The results showed that transport services have indirect but medical and physical facilities have both direct and indirect significant effects on overall students’ satisfaction. Further, the administrative services and research facilities have significant indirect effects on overall students’ satisfaction. Finally, the results of structural equation modeling (SEM) confirm that the reputation of the university is directly associated with overall students’ satisfaction.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Molecular structures of aniline(pyrrole)<SUP>+</SUP>, aniline(ethanol)<SUP>+</SUP>, and aniline(benzene)<SUP>+</SUP> produced via resonance two-photon ionization at 266 nm were analyzed by infrared predissociation spectroscopy coupled with tandem mass spectrometry. Structural optimization and frequency calculation using density functional theory were carried out to suggest the most probable isomers which are in good agreement with the observed infrared absorption spectra. ORGANOCHLORINE INSECTICIDE RESIDUES IN SEDIMENTS FROM THE COAST OF CHITTAGONG, BANGLADESH

ABSTRACT :A total of 5 samples of marine sediments were analyzed for residues of organochlorine insecticide from the coast of Chittagong, Bangladesh. The analytical method consisted of 3 phases 1) extraction, 2) clean-up and 3) analysis through Gas Chromatography (GC) with Electron Capture Detector (ECD). The concentration ranges were as follows 0.18-1.33 ng.g-¹ for aldrin, 0.2-1.84 ng.g-¹ for dieldrin, 0.30-1.31 ng.g-¹ for endrin, 0.11-0.26 ng.g-¹ for lindane, 0.56-3.36 ng.g-¹ for heptachlor, 0.2-1.51 ng.g-¹ for P, P' DDE, 0.18-2.91 ng.g-¹ for P, P' DDD, 0.11-3.12 ng.g-¹ for P, P' DDT. These results reveal that the sediments in the coast of Chittagong are slightly contaminated with some of these organochlorine insecticides.
The Impact of Loyalty Program on Customer Retention: Empirical Evidence from Bangladesh

The purpose of this paper is to examine how loyalty programs designed by retail stores affect customer retention. The present study is one of the few empirical studies finding the role of different loyalty programs that help to build customer retention. The study also seeks to explore the moderation role of customer perceived value between intrinsic motivation - customer retention and extrinsic motivation - customer retention. The researchers employed a quantitative research design to collect data from the 350 respondents who purchased goods from the retail chain/departmental stores in Bangladesh. The collected data are then analyzed using structural equation modeling. The result of their findings indicated that the size of the organizational reward has a positive effect on intrinsic and extrinsic motivation; further extrinsic motivation has a significant relation to customer retention. Surprisingly, no support was found for the positive impact of intrinsic motivation on customer retention. Customer perceived value (CPV) is critical as a moderator in building client retention, which improves the positive association between extrinsic motivation and customer retention. CPV, on the other hand, was found to mitigate the negative link between intrinsic motivation and client retention.
