문화의 세기라 불리는 21세기, 세계 곳곳에서 문화를 통한 경제적, 사회적, 문화적, 환경적 가치 창출 및 지역 이미지 전파를 위한 수단으로 무수한 박람회가 개최되고 또 계획되어지고 있는 가운데, 최근 2013순천만국제정원박람회는 웰빙과 로하스 등 새로운 라이프스타일을 추구하는 인구의 욕구에 따라 건강과 환경, 사회 정의, 지속가능한 삶의 가치를 부각하는 형태로 인류공존을 위한 노력을 어필하고, 친환경적인 삶이 인간에게 가져다주는 긍정적인 효과를 돌아보게 하면서 수요자로 하여금 공감과 신뢰를 끌어내어 박람회를 대성공의 결과를 남겼다. 23개국이 참여한 국제적인 규모의 2013순천만국제정원박람회는 수목원구역, 습지센터구역, 세계정원구역, 참여정원구역, 습지구역으로 총 83개의 정원이 전시되었는바 본 연구에서는 2013순천만국제정원박람회 전시콘텐츠 가운데 본 연구자가 코디네이터로 재직하면서 집중 담당하였던 61개 참여정원 가운데 최종 심사를 거쳐 대상, 금상을 수상한 6개 참여정원 전시콘텐츠를 대상으로 도입된 색채이미지가 참가주체, 정원주제, 정원내용과 어떠한 연관성이 있는지를 분석함으로서 향후 정원계획 및 구현에 있어 색채 이미지의 중요성을 알리는데 그 목적이 있으며, 이는 관람객에게 정확한 정보 전달을 통해 작품에 대한 이해 및 만족도를 높이는데도 연관성이 있기 때문이다. In the 21st century, which is called the era of culture, an infinite number of expositions have been held and planned as a means of the creation of economic, social, cultural and environmental values and distribution of regional images through culture. The 2013 Suncheon Bay International Garden Expo was designed to highlight health, environment, social justice and sustainable values in life according to human needs to pursue new life styles of well-being and LOHAS. It was a successful effort for human coexistence through being eco-friendly and the use of natural materials which led us to recall the positive effects an eco-friendly life has on humans and consumers with regards to sympathy and reliability. 23 countries participated in the exposition and a total of 83 gardens were displayed, such as Arboretum Zone, Wetland Center Zone, World Garden Zone and Wetland Zone. The author joined in the exposition as a coordinator and was in charge of 61 gardens. Out of these, this study analysed the relationship between the images of colors and subjects, themes and contents introduced in 6 gardens which won the grand, gold prizes through the final judgement. It was designed to understand the importance of color images in garden planning and implementation and to enhance satisfaction through delivery of accurate information to visitors.
Selective Reduction of Organic Compounds with Al-Methanesulfonyldiisobutylalane

The new MPV type reagent, Al-methanesulfonyldiisobutylalane (DIBAO3SCH3), has been prepared and its reducing characteristics in the reduction of selected organic compounds containing representative functional groups have been examined in order to find out a new reducing system with high selectivity in organic synthesis. In general, the reagent is extremely mild, showing only reactivity toward aldehydes, ketones and epoxides. The reagent exhibits a unique reducing applicability in organic synthesis. Thus, the reagent can achieve a clean 1,2-reduction of α,β-unsaturated aldehydes and ketones to produce the corresponding allylic alcohols in 100% purity. In addition, the reagent shows an excellent regioselectivity in the ring-opening reaction of epoxides. Finally, DIBAO3SCH3 shows a high stereoselectivity in the reduction of cyclic ketones to produce the thermodynamically more stable epimers exclusively.

<P>Benefiting from a large density of layer edges exposed on the surface, vertically aligned two-dimensional (2D) molybdenum disulfide (MoS<SUB>2</SUB>) layers have recently harvested excellent performances in the field of electrochemical catalysis and chemical sensing. With their increasing versatility for high-temperature, demanding applications, it is vital to identify their thermally driven structural and chemical stability, as well as to clarify its underlying principle. Despite various ex situ and in situ characterizations on horizontally aligned 2D MoS<SUB>2</SUB> layers, the direct in situ heating of vertically aligned 2D MoS<SUB>2</SUB> layers and the real-time observation of their near-atomic-scale dynamics have never been approached, leaving their thermal stability poorly understood. Moreover, the geometrical advantage of the surface-exposed vertically aligned 2D MoS<SUB>2</SUB> layers is anticipated to unveil the structural dynamics of interlayer van der Waals (vdW) gaps and its correlation with thermal energy, unattainable with 2D MoS<SUB>2</SUB> layers in any other geometry. Herein, we report a comprehensive in situ heating TEM study on cleanly transferred, vertically aligned 2D MoS<SUB>2</SUB> layers up to 1000 °C. Several striking phenomena were newly observed in the course of heating: (1) formation and propagation of voids between the domains of vertical 2D MoS<SUB>2</SUB> layers with distinct grain orientations starting at ∼875 °C; (2) subsequent decompositions of the 2D MoS<SUB>2</SUB> layers accompanying a formation of Mo nanoparticles at ∼950 °C, a temperature much lower than the melting temperature of their bulk counterpart; and (3) initiation of decomposition from the surface-exposed 2D layer vertical edge sites, congruently supported by molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. These new findings will offer critical insights into better understanding the thermodynamic principle that governs the structural stability of general vdW 2D crystals as well as providing useful technological guidance for materials design and optimization in their potential high-temperature applications.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>
