Synergy: An Overlay Internetworking Architecture and Implementation

A multitude of overlay network designs for resilient routing,multicasting, quality of service, content distribution, storage,and object location have been proposed. Overlay networks offer several attractive features, including ease of deployment, flexibility,adaptivity, and an infrastructure for collaboration among hosts. In this paper, we explore cooperation among co-existing, possibly heterogeneous,overlay networks. We discuss a spectrum of cooperative forwarding and information sharing services, and investigate the associated scalability, heterogeneity, and security problems. Motivated by these services, we design Synergy, a utilitybased overlay internetworking architecture that fosters overlay cooperation. Our architecture promotes fair peering relationships to achieve synergism. Results from Internet experiments with cooperative forwarding overlays indicate that our Synergy prototype improves delay, throughput, and loss performance, while maintaining the autonomy and heterogeneity of individual overlay networks.

화강풍화토의 풍화강도에 따른 중금속 흡착특성을 규명하기 위해 납과 구리를 이용하여 회분식 흡착실험을 수행하였다. 화강풍화토의 풍화가 진행됨에 따라 용해성이 높은 SiO₂, K₂O, Na₂O의 함량은 감소하며, 산화물인 Fe₂O₃의 함량은 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며, 강열감량과 비표면적은 증가하고 투수계수는 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 화강풍화토의 풍화강도가 증가할수록 비표면적과 점토질 성분이 증가하므로 납과 구리의 흡착량이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 화강풍화토에 의한 납과 구리의 흡착속도는 1차 반응속도모델보다 2차 반응속도모델에 의해 적절하게 설명될 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. Effects of weathering intensity on the adsorption of heavy metals such as lead(Pb) and copper(Cu) onto decomposed granite soils were investigated by a series of batch tests. The chemical components such as SiO₂, K₂O and Na₂O having relatively high solubility were reduced and the oxidized Fe₂O₃ content was increased with the increase of weathering intensity. Weathering of granite soils increased the ignition loss and specific surface area, while it decreased the permeability. The lead and copper adsorptions onto the decomposed granites were enhanced with the increase of weathering intensity, mainly due to the increase of specific surface area and clayed contents. Adsorption of lead and copper onto the weathered granites could be more adequately described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic model than the pseudo-first-order model.

The effectiveness of the war procurement plan related to the supply of procurement sources has been raised as a problem. In order to overcome uncertainties in wartime procurement, the military is making various efforts to manage procurement sources, such as supplementing planned documents and contract procedures. In this study, we judged that this source management would affect the overall procurement speed. However, although the effect of these procurement efforts was important, they were mainly emphasized qualitatively, and the quantitatively analyzed research was insufficient. In addition, there have been many studies on the effect of changes in military policy on the supply chain, but most of them analyzed only the effect within one supply chain. Since the military conducts war, the effect of the policy will become clear only when the results of the interaction with the enemy are reflected. To overcome this, we modeled using the lanchester model and system dynamics so that the effect of management appeared as a victory. Also, we applied the Marine Corps oil supply system and produced the following results. First, if the procurement period is reduced, the win rate increases. Second, as fierce battles took place, the effect of shortening the procurement period increased. Third, even if the enemys combat efficiency and stockpile level are higher than ours, it can be overcome by shortening the procurement period. This study is meaningful in that the intangible factor of the procurement source management effort was visualized as the result of the win rate and clearly expressed the effect of the effort by reflecting the results of interaction with the enemy.

C++과 같은 객체 지향 프로그램에서의 소프트웨어 부품 재사용이 소프트웨어 개발의 생산성과 코드 신뢰성면에서 많은 장점을 준다고 알려져 있는 반면, 실제 재사용이 이루어지는 경우는 드문 것이 현실이다. 그러므로 소프트웨어 재사용을 위해서는 사용자의 요구에 맞는 소프트웨어 부품을 제공해 주는 라이브러리 구축이 필수적이라고 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 C++클래스 라이브러리 구축을 위한 C++클래스의 부품 추출 및 분류 방법을 제시함으로써 사용자가 쉽게 재사용을 위한 C++클래스를 찾을 수 있도록 하였다, 부품 추출의 경우 특히 클래스의 상속성에 주의하여 속성을 추출하며 클래스 분류는 유사성 함수를 제시하여 함수에 기반한 유사성 값을 통하여 새로운 클래스 계층 구조를 구성할 수 있게 하였다.

Conventional molecular profiling methods using immunochemical assays have limits in terms of multiplexity and the quantification of biomarkers in investigation of cancer cells. In this paper, we demonstrate a quantum dot (QD)-based microfluidic multiple biomarker quantification (QD-MMBQ) method that enables labeling of more than eight proteins immunochemically on cell blocks within 1 h, in a quantitative manner. An internal reference, beta-actin, was used as a loading control to compensate for differences in not only the cell number but also in staining quality among specimens. Furthermore, the microfluidic blocking method exhibited less nonspecific binding of QDs than the conventional static blocking method.
Development of an Engineering Education Framework for Aerodynamic Shape Optimization

Design optimization is a mathematical process to find an optimal solution through the use of formal optimization algorithms. Design plays a vital role in the engineering field; therefore, using design tools in education and research is becoming more and more important. Recently, numerical design optimization in fluid mechanics, which uses computational fluid dynamics (CFD), has numerous applications in the engineering field, because of the rapid development of high-performance computing resources. However, it is difficult to find design optimization software and contents for educational purposes in aerospace engineering. In the present study, we have developed an aerodynamic design framework specifically for an airfoil, based on the EDucation-research Integration through Simulation On the Net (EDISON) portal. The airfoil design framework is composed of three subparts: a geometry kernel, CFD flow analysis, and an optimization algorithm. Through a seamless interface among the subparts, an iterative design process is conducted. In addition, the CFD flow analysis and the design framework are provided through a web-based portal system, while the computation is taken care of by a supercomputing facility. In addition to the software development, educational contents are developed for lectures associated with design optimization in aerospace and mechanical engineering education programs. The software and content developed in this study is expected to be used as a tool for e-learning material, for education and research in universities.
