<P>Traditional single-phase electrolytes, which are widely used in current state-of-the-art rechargeable batteries, have difficulties simultaneously fulfilling different chemical/electrochemical requirements of anodes and cathodes. Here, we demonstrate a new class of monolithic heterojunction quasi-solid-state electrolytes (MH-QEs) based on thermodynamically immiscible dual phases. As a proof-of-concept of the MH-QEs, their application to lithium-sulfur batteries is explored. Driven by combined effects of structural uniqueness and thermodynamic immiscibility, the electrode-customized MH-QEs provide exceptional electrochemical performance that lies far beyond those accessible with conventional battery electrolytes.</P>

Malassezia pachydermatis is a commensal yeast found on the skin of dogs. However, M. pachydermatis is also considered an opportunistic pathogen and is associated with various canine skin diseases including otitis externa and atopic dermatitis, which usually require treatment using an azole antifungal drug, such as ketoconazole. In this study, we isolated a ketoconazole-resistant strain of M. pachydermatis, designated “KCTC 27587,” from the external ear canal of a dog with otitis externa and analyzed its resistance mechanism. To understand the mechanism underlying ketoconazole resistance of the clinical isolate M. pachydermatis KCTC 27587, the whole genome of the yeast was sequenced using the PacBio platform and was compared with M. pachydermatis type strain CBS 1879. We found that a ~84-kb region in chromosome 4 of M. pachydermatis KCTC 27587 was tandemly quadruplicated. The quadruplicated region contains 52 protein coding genes, including the homologs of ERG4 and ERG11, whose overexpression is known to be associated with azole resistance. Our data suggest that the quadruplication of the ~84-kb region may be the cause of the ketoconazole resistance in M. pachydermatis KCTC 27587.
High-Frequency Agrobacterium-Mediated Genetic Transformation of Tongil Rice Varieties

We investigated the frequency of callus induction from mature-seed scutella of 39 varieties of Tongil rice (Oryza sativa japonica x indica). These were divided into two groups according to condition of the callus at the time of incuction. Members of the first group, which developed brown calli, were further classified into two types (B1 or B2), based on the extent of their color change and callus congition. Tissues in the second froup developed yellow calli, with varieties being placed into one of three types (Y1, Y2, or Y3) according to solidity. Type-Y1 seeds generated suitably soft calli that were healthy and grew rapidly. These calli were transformed with binary vector pGA2722 via Agrobacyerium-mediated co-cultivation. The vector contained the hygromycin-resistance selectable marker and a gus reporter gene with an intron that is functional in plant cells but not in Agrobacterium. Most vatieties that formed brown calli failed to generate transformants. Ligewise, several varieties wuth suitably soft calli also failed. Among the 16 transgormable varieties, the final regeneration frequencies ranged from 1.0 to 10.7%. The highest frequency was achieved by the variety Tongil, which also had the most rapidly growing calli. DNA gel-blot analysis revealed one to three copies of the introduced gus gene.
한국 성인 성범죄자의 심리적 특성 -정서 조절 및 대처 능력을 중심으로-

본 연구는 일반인, 일반범죄자, 성범죄자의 집단 간 비교연구를 통해 한국 성인 성범죄자의 정서 조절 및 대처 능력을 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 성범죄자 123명, 일반범죄자 102명, 일반인 162명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 기존 연구와 이론들을 토대로 선정한 정서 조절 및 대처 능력 관련 변인들을 세 집단 간 차이를 비교하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 성범죄자는 일반범죄자보다 인지정서조절전략으로 자기비난, 수용을 더 많이 하고 스트레스 상황에서 환상을 사용하였다. 성범죄자들은 일반인에 비해서는 인지정서조절전략으로 자기비난을 하고 스트레스 상황에서 성을 통해 해소하며 특히 환상, 자위, 포르노그래피를 많아 사용하는 것으로 나타났다. 이외에도, 일반범죄자들은 일반인에 비해 인지정서조절전략으로 자기비난, 파국 화를 더 많이 하고 스트레스 상황에서는 환상, 성행위를 통해 해소하는 경향을 보였다. 일반인들은 일반범죄자에 비해 인지정서 조절전략으로 타인비난을 많이 하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구가 가지는 의의, 연구의 제한점, 추후 연구에 대한 제언을 논의에서 제시하였다. The purpose of this study is to examine the emotional regulation and coping ability of adult sex offenders in Korea by comparing the general public, general offenders and sex offenders. The subjects were 123 sex offenders, 102 general offenders, and 162 general public. Based on the existing studies, the emotional adjustment and coping ability - related variables were compared among the three groups. The results are as follows. Sexual offenders were more self blame and acceptance than general offenders. Sexual offenders have more sexual fantasies in stress situations than general offenders. Sexual offenders were more self-blame than general public. In addition, sexual offenders are more likely to use fantasy, masturbation, and pornography than general public in the stress situation. General offenders were more likely to self-blame and catastrophizing than the general public. General offenders showed a tendency to relieve stress through fantasy and sexual activity compared with the general public. The general public had more blaming others than general criminals. Implications and limitations of this study as well as suggestions for future research are discussed
대학생의 무도수련이 성취목표성향과 운동몰입 및 자기효능감에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 대학생의 무도수련이 성취목표성향과 운동몰입 및 자기효능감에 미치는 영향을 규명하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 2021년 4~5월까지 광주와 전남 소재 대학에서 경찰 및 경호전공 대학생들을 모집단으로 선정한 후 설문조사를 실시하여 자료를 분석하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 무도수련을 통한 성취목표성향은 운동몰입의 모든 요인에 유의미한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 무도수련을 통한 성취목표성향은 자기효능감의 모든 요인에 유의미한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 무도수련을 통한 운동몰입은 자기효능감의 모든 요인에 유의미한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 학생들의 성취목표성향을 고려하여 다양한 교육방안 및 지도를 통하여 학생들의 진로 및 취업지도에 활용한다면 진취적이고 창의적인 인재를 양성하는데 도움이 될 것으로 사료된다. The objective of this study is to examine the effects of martial arts training on the achievement goal orientation, exercise commitment, and self-efficacy of university students. For this, after selecting the university students majoring in police & security services of universities in Gwangju and Jeonnam region as a population, from April to May 2021, this study conducted a survey, and then analyzed the collected data. In the results of the analysis, first, the achievement goal orientation through martial arts training had significantly positive (+) effects on every factor of exercise commitment. Second, the achievement goal orientation through martial arts training had significantly positive (+) effects on every factor of self-efficacy. Third, the exercise commitment through martial arts training had significantly positive (+) effects on every factor of self-efficacy. Thus, if such various education measures and guidance are used for career and employment guidance by considering the students’ achievement goal orientation, it would be helpful for cultivating the progressive and creative talent.
