Objective-The justification of informed consent requires that a patient be provided with the information necessary for deciding treatment and able to use such information based on reasonable thinking. The clinical decision to consider anyone who has mental disorder as incompetence without objective assessment does not only encroach human rights of the persons with mental illness, but seriously prevent them from being recovered. Hence the objective assessment of competency is needed in mental health. Our study aimed to develop the Korean Tool of Competency to Consent to Psychiatric Hospitalization and to analyze the reliability and validity of this tool. Methods-Totally 98 patients with mental illness who were hospitalized in mental hospital, participated in this study. For the subjects a questionnaire composing of 22 questions of understanding, appreciation, reasoning and expression of a choice was used. To investigate validity of this tool, MMSE-K, insight test, estimated IQ, BPRS were conducted. Its reliability and usefulness were examined with Cronbach’s alpha, ICC and ROC analysis respectively and criterion related validation performed. Results-As results, this tool shows that agreement between raters is relatively high and the confirmatory factor analysis for constructive validation shows that the tool is valid. Also, for criterion related validation, estimated IQ, insight and MMSE are significantly correlated to understanding, appreciation and reasoning. However competence to express a choice did not show any significant correlation with criterion variables, nor showed BPRS any significant correlation with sub-competences. Conclusion-Our study developed the Korean Tool of Competency to Consent to Psychiatric Admission Treatment in the Mentally Ill, verified the reliability and validity of the tool and analyzed the optimum cutoff to distinguish between competence and incompetence in sub-competences. Korean Assessment Tool of Competency to Consent to Psychiatric Hospitalization (KATOC), analyzed the reliability and validity of this tool and presented the cutoff points by subarea. As a result, the reliability and validity of satisfactory levels were verified, the ROC analysis was implemented based on the clinical assessment and the cutoff points were found in understanding, appreciation, expression of a choice and reasoning. Such findings showed that the tool developed by researchers could be very favorably used in Korea.
Improved compact Dual-Bandpass Filter for UWB Applications

In this paper, we have proposed a compact and low-cost dual Band-pass Filter for Ultra -Wide Band(UWB) applications. The designed band pass filter is suitable for UWB wireless communications that shows characteristics by using micro-strip line and parallel stub to remove WLAN band. It is based on the symmetric structure. The measured pass-band ranges from 2.9 to 10.6 GHz for the cut-off frequency with stop band from 4.85 to 5.9 ㎓ for 3-㏈ rejection bandwidth. The measured dual band pass filter has insertion loss of less than 0.4㏈ and 0.8㏈ in 2.9 to 4.85㎓ band and 5.9 to 10.6㎓, respectively. Also, good return loss. The measured group delay variation is less than 0.6 ns throughout operating frequency band without the WLAN band. The fabricated dual-BPF size is 23.79㎜×9.57㎜. In addition satisfied the measured and using ADS tool simulated results agreed well.
노치필터를 이용한 CMOS Selective 피드백 저잡음 증폭기

본 논문에서는 0.18㎛ CMOS 공정을 이용하여 다양한 무선통신 시스템 표준을 포함하는 Selective 피드백 저잡음 증폭기(SF-LNA)를 설계하였다. 노치필터를 이용하여 불필요한 주파수 대역은 저지시키고 원하는 주파수 대역만 통과시키는 주파수 응답을 얻었고, 측정 결과 820~960㎒와 1.57~2.5㎓ 주파수 대역에서 각각 13㏈ 및 11.5㏈의 전력이득과 -10㏈ 이하의 입력 및 출력 임피던스 매칭을 얻었다. 제작한 칩은 1.8V의 단일 전원전압으로부터 15㎽의 낮은 전력소모를 가지며, 1.17 x 1.0㎟의 칩 사이즈를 갖는다. In this paper, a selective feedback low-noise amplifier (LNA) has been realized in a 0.18㎛ CMOS technology to cover a number of wireless multi-standards. By exploiting notch filter, the SF-LNA demonstrates the measured results of the power gain (S21) of 11.5~13㏈ and the broadband input/output impedance matching of less than -10㏈ within the frequency bands of 820~960㎒ and 1.5~2.5㎓, respectively. The chip dissipates 15㎽ from a single 1.8V supply, and occupies the area of 1.17 x 1.0㎟.

목적: 본 연구는 Lactobacillus plantarum J2K-27 (L. Plantarum J2K-27) 유산균을 발효한 폴리하이드록시산(PHA)의 변화를 분 석하고 그 효능을 통해 화장품 소재로서 가능성을 확인해보았다. 방법: L. Plantarum J2K-27 균주를 이용한 PHA의 발효에 의한 성분변화를 확인하고자 고성능 액체 크로마토그래피(HPLC) 분석을 진행하였다. 발효된 PHA의 항산화 효능 및 세포생존율을 측 정하고 히알루론산 및 프로콜라겐 type 1 생성량 측정을 통해 화장품 소재로 가능성을 확인하였다. 결과: HPLC 분석 결과, 발효된 PHA는 락토바이오닉산(lactobionic acid)과 젖산(lactic acid)의 성분을 생성하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 발효된 PHA는 농도 의존적으로 항산화 효과를 나타내었으며, 세포 독성이 없는 농도에서 프로콜라겐 및 히알루론산의 생성량이 농도 의존적으로 증가 하는 것이 확인 되었다. 결론: 본 연구 결과를 종합하여, L. Plantarum J2K-27 균주를 이용한 PHA는 lactobionic acid과 lactic acid 의 성분을 생성하면서 기능성 화장품 소재로서 가능성이 있음을 확인하였다 Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of fermented poly hydroxyl acid (F-PHA) using the Lactobacillus plantarum J2K-27 strain, and identify the applicability of its biological compounds. Methods: F-PHA was analyzed using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to identify its active compounds. Furthermore, the radical scavenging activities were evaluated for F-PHA. The cell viability and expression of procollagen type 1 and hyaluronic acid were investigated. Results: Changes in F-PHA represented the increase of lactobionic acid and lactic acid after fermentation. F-PHA increased radical scavenging activity in a dosedependent manner. After fermentation, F-PHA was confirmed to increase the expression of procollagen type 1 synthesis and hyaluronic acid without cytotoxicity. Conclusion: These results confirmed that F-PHA shows generally higher activities functional cosmetic material.

<P>We successfully fabricated the metal-organic framework (MOF), copper benzenetricarboxylate on a microchannel system, which was able to solve the problems created by increased heat dissipation in small electronic equipment. The microchannel system was designed to make an entrance part that can control the reaction temperature, which was predicted through a heat transfer analysis and the finite element method with COMSOL Multiphysics. Synthetic conditions, synthesis time, temperature and microchannel size were systematically tuned for the selective fabrication of copper benzenetricarboxylate on a microchannel surface. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) images, selected area electron diffraction (SAED) pattern and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) data clearly demonstrated that copper benzenetricarboxylate was strongly adhered to the bottom surfaces of the microchannels. Moreover, the synthesis of MOF in the microchannel system provided a much faster growth rate and better crystallinity compared to a conventional synthesis method.</P>
