<P>A high-temperature superconducting (HTS) cable system with the 22.9 kV, 50 MVA, and 410 m length is installed and operated at 154 kV Icheon substation of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO). Unfortunately, it is a difficult task to diagnose and monitor electrical and thermal characteristics of the HTS cable system in a real-time manner. In order to protect operational failures of grid-connected HTS cable systems, this paper proposes time-frequency domain reflectometry (TFDR) and analysis techniques, i.e., time-frequency cross correlation and instantaneous frequency estimation. To verify the performance of the proposed method, the temperature is changed via the cryogenic refrigeration system and the status of the grid-connected HTS cable is monitored via TFDR in a real-time manner.</P>

<P>In this paper, an adaptive compressed sensing is proposed in order to enhance the performance of fast tetrahertz reflection tomography. The proposed method first acquires data at random measurement points in the spatial domain, and estimates the regions in each tomographic image where much degradation is expected. Then, it allocates additional measurement points to those regions, so that more data are acquired adaptively at the regions prone to degradation, thereby improving the quality of the reconstructed tomographic images. The proposed method was applied to the T-ray reflection tomography system, and the image quality enhancement by the proposed method, compared to the conventional method, was verified for the same number of measurement points.</P>

<P>In this paper, we propose a new time-frequency based analysis method that monitors the state of the high temperature superconducting (HTS) cable system in a real-time manner and detects the current imbalance of HTS cable system. The new time-frequency-based method utilizes the cross Wigner–Ville distribution to analyze the time-frequency localized phase difference of the reflected signal, which varies depending on the insulation characteristics of the HTS cable system. Also, a real-world AC 22.9 kV 50 MVA HTS cable system and a current source are used to validate the performance of the new monitoring method in order to detect current imbalance phenomenon.</P>

문서 여과 시스템은 사용자의 정보요구를 기준으로 문서들을 선별하여 제시한다. 사용자의 정보요구는 하나 이상의 단어들로 구성된 프로파일로 표현이 되며, 문서의 여과 과정 동안에 발생하는 사용자의 연관성 평가를 통해 구체적인 내용으로 변할 수 있다. 기존 연구의 경우 사용자는 자신이 직접 연관성 평가에 참여하여 평가 정보를 입력하고, 사용자가 평가한 긍정적 피드백 정보를 이용하여 사용자 프로파일을 학습한다. 본 연구는 사용자가 평가한 긍정적 연관성 피드백 뿐만 아니라 부정적 연관성 피드백을 함께 이용한 사용자 프로파일 학습 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법과, 대표적인 연관성 피드백 방법인 Rocchio 방법과의 성능을 측정하기 위해 네 가지 토픽에 대하여 여과를 수행하였다. 실험한 결과 부정적 연관성 피드백 정보를 이용하였을 경우 Rocchio 방법 보다는 6% 더 성능이 높은 것을 볼 수 있었다. 실험결과 부정적 평가를 받은 문서를 이용하여 사용자가 선호하지 않는 문서를 제거함으로써 여과 시스템의 성능을 향상 시킬 수 있었다.

<P>This study analyzes change in carbon storage by applying forest growth models and final cutting age to actual and potential forest cover for six major tree species in South Korea. Using National Forest Inventory data, the growth models were developed to estimate mean diameter at breast height, tree height, and number of trees for Pinus densiflora, Pinus koraiensis, Pinus rigida, Larix kaempferi, Castanea crenata and Quercus spp. stands. We assumed that actual forest cover in a forest type map will change into potential forest covers according to the Hydrological and Thermal Analogy Groups model. When actual forest cover reaches the final cutting age, forest volume and carbon storage are estimated by changed forest cover and its growth model. Forest volume between 2010 and 2110 would increase from 126.73 to 157.33 m(3) hm(-2). Our results also show that forest cover, volume, and carbon storage could abruptly change by 2060. This is attributed to the fact that most forests are presumed to reach final cutting age. To avoid such dramatic change, a regeneration and yield control scheme should be prepared and implemented in a way that ensures balance in forest practice and yield.</P>
An Energy-Efficient Data Dissemination in Wireless Sensor Network

In a sensor networks where a huge number of sensors are deployed, they select some particular nodes to work as active nodes and configures network topology with them to construct a long-lived network. Only the active nodes participate in message transmission through routing paths while the other nodes turn off their radios to save energy. Mobile sink mobility brings new challenges to sensor network. It suggests that information about mobile sink position be continuously propagated through the sensor field to keep all sensor nodes updated for the future data reports. In this paper, we describe a data forwarding scheme based on simple cross topology for wireless sensor network with mobile sinks. Simulation result shows that our scheme provides much greater energy efficiency than the conventional topology scheme.
