The purpose of this study is, by using Q-methodology, to classify the type of attitude for the general public about the death and to understand the specific characters of each type. Q-population was investigated by referring to relevant records and interviewing with the general public and the experts. The final 40 of Q-sample was selected and the data was collected through P-sample, randomly chosen 32 people around Seoul and Kyung-gi area. After analyzing, 4 types were found. Type 1 is aiming for the future life. They believe firmly the future life. They feel certain that eh death means starting for eternal life rather than being afraid of the death or having a despair. Type 2 is valuing reality. They do their best for the reality of life. They take up a positive attitude toward completing their life with responsibilities even at the situation of confronting death have a right to know when they will be dead. They should have enough time to prepare for death. Type 4 is devoting for society. Even though there is only one life, people think that devoting their life for justice is very important. Through the result of this study, people`s agreement for nobility and importance of life were found same. It is reconfirmed that instead of being dead suddenly, if it`s possible, they want to know the fact of dying to have time to prepare for their death. Also, the fact that everyone has the fear of death is confirmed.

The role of Haute-Couture were studied in view point of art and commerce. It has always created a new mode and developed the designing materials and the stable techniques for a work of art. The Haute-Couture has played a pivotal role as a chief source of mode creation and the designers have found their creative ideas on the materials such as a building, art gallery, cinema, costume, and a music. They have displayed their images in clothes on the basis of these materials and their garments were sublimated into art. But the work of art could not made a financial profit on the fantastic and unpractical side, and so, an emphasis on commercialism were to be an essential preposition. For this, Houte-Couture houses were enterprised and merchandized the royalties of ready-made suit, perfumes, accessories, undergarments, jewelry, and handbags to gain profits. The designers have introduced their pieces and creative vogues through the fashion shows. In the end, only when a successive graft between art and commerce is harmonized, there will be a realized Haute-Couture to play the leading role as a creative vogue.

In this study female college students having high interest in fashion were selected by homogeneous purposive sampling. The students were classified into two groups. 301 Students living in Chinju were asked on self-actualization and design preference. The date of respondents were analyzed by Pearson's correlation coefficients and t-test. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. 1. The line preference, chroma, thickness and weight of clothing textile were different in these two groups. 2. The students of individuality had self-actualization, feeling reactivity, self-regard, existentiality and capacity of intimate contact. 3. There were significant relation between self-actualization and the preference for clothing from, color and texture in two groups.
服飾변천 과정에서 Sleeve Design의 特徵(Ⅲ) : 16세기를 中心으로 Sixteenth Century

The sleeve design of costume had an impact on the general pattern of costume in 16th century. In this paper the characteristics of the change sleeve design and the method of construction were studied according to the criteria suggested by Cunnington. The results of the study can be summerized 35 follows. The costume in 16th century was not quite different from those in the past centuries, but the costume tended to have more varied detail and trimming and they were based on the graceful silhouette. In 16th century, there were no uniformity and regularity of sleeve design. But it was general trend that sleeve was expanded by using pad and slash of· it had very tight sleeve in the early part of 16th century. The tight sleeve of women's costume in Germany was tailored in two part, and it suggested the improved technic of cutting. On the other hand, the sleeve of women's costume in France and England had the artificially distorted from that had expanded form in the lower part. In the middle part of 16th century, the form of sleeve became very complicated and it was inconvenient for the wearer to put it on. Therefore, in France, the sleeve was made independently. When one put it on, a string was used to connect it to costume and to decorate with E´aqaulette. The upper part and wrist part of elbow sleeve of Over-coat in Italy were very tight, and the middle part of it was loose. The typical pattern of women's costume that had expanded sleeve in lower part was in fashion. This form disappeared in 13th century and appeared again in 14th and 15th centuries. In the part of 16th century, the sleeve design manifested the aesthetic sense of that period, Many kinds of sleeves Including the tight one, baggy one, wide one and the hanging one were used. The most characteristic sleeve of this period was the expanded leg of mutton sleeve and it was in fashion for men and women in upper classes of France and England. In short, all kinds of sleeve suggested by Cunnington appeared in this period. They include both the natural and artificial forms. As the sleeve design had varied form and the expression in detail was stressed. These style helped to harmonize the sleeve with the design for body,and they contributed to increase the splendor of costume in 16th century.

Bean-curd is usually sold in the state of immersing water and is apt to be spoiled due to the acting fungi. In order to prevent the bean-curd from spoilage, nitrofuryl acryl amide was added to the immersing water, and various types of preserving method was studied. The results acryl amide treated was able to prolong 2 hours from the spoilage as compared with non-treated. 1. Nitrofuryl acryl amide treated was able to prolong 2 hours from the spoilage as compared with non-treated. 2. When immersed in the circulating pure tab water alone, it was able to prolong 2hours rom the spoilage. 3. NaCIO solution did not show any effect on the prolongation form the spoliage.

This was designed in order to find out the correlation between the basic needs and values on teh clothes of women, 358 women living in Taegu city and JinJu city were selected as sample for this study. The major findigs of this research were as followings. 1. Women have stronger needs for physiology, self-actualization belongness and affection self-esteem and safety. They regards economic, sensory values most important. 2. Young women tend to regard aesthetic values such as form,color, harmony important. Older women like to wear comfortable clothes. 3. Women having higher education have lower needs for physiology and safety, and they have strong need for self-actualization, And they tend to regard aesthetic values important, but they have lower religious values on the clothes. 4. There is difference of need and clothing values of women depending on the monthly income of the family. 5. Unemployed women have stronger need for self-actualization than the employed women. Ⅱ.Correlation between basic needs and values on clothes was investigated. 1. Married women who regard aethetic values important have stronger need for self-actualization. Single women who regard economic values important have lower needs for safety and self-actualization but married women have lower needs for belongingness and self-esteem. 2. There is a little difference of correltion between values and needs depending on the age and education of respondents. 3. There is a difference of correlation between values and needs depending on the monthly incomes of respondents.

This study was an attempt to survey the preference in clothing design of adult women. The preference in clothing design were evaluated by 58 items. The questionnaires were administered to a sample of women (between the age of 20 and 50) who lived in Chinju and Taegu, Korea. The data from 647 respondents were analyzed statistically. Through this study, the followings were founds : 1. There were significant differences in the preference of clothing design between married women and unmarried women. (1) In the color preference, married women liked the green, yellow and yellow green in sequence. Unmarried women liked the green, yellow and blue. (2) In the chroma, there was a negative correlation between cloration and warm for married women and there was a correlation between coloration and clod for unmarried women. (3) In the form of clothing, both of them showed significant difference in style and silhouette. (4) In the texture, both of them showed signigicant difference in thickness, weight and luster.

Middle age for women is one of the most important stages of the whole normal life span and has unique problems concerning the psychological and physical health, specifically degenerative musculoskeletal diseases. Therefore middle age women should prepare in order to lead a healthy and fruitful life as they enter/begin old age. As the population of middle age women increase, the demands of nurses who care for this age group also continue to grow. Nurses must be interested in this middle age group of women in Korea. This study was designed to identify the extent of family support and self-esteem of the middle age women with degenerative musculoskeletal diseases and the relationship between them and nurse's contribution to middle age women's health promotion that maintain and promote quality of her life. The population of this study was 112 women aged 40-60, attending the out patient clinic one University Hospital and one Hospital, in Pusan. The data was collected from 1st August to the 30th of September, 1998 by using 36 items questionnaire. The instrument used for measuring family support was of Chai's(1983) FSS which was modified by Kang's(1984) Family Support Scale. And that for self-esteem was Rosenberg's(1965) Self-esteem Scale. The reliability of Chai's FSS and Rosenberg's instruments were tested by Cronbach's alpha and showed that they were 0.93 and 0.89 each respectively. Data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's Correlation Coefficient using the SPSS computer program. The results of the study were summarized as follows : 1. The mean score of the perceived family support was 39.31±9.42. 2. The mean score of the perceived self-esteem was 33.16±6.75. 3. Statistically significant factors influencing the family support among sociodemographic variables was satisfaction of marriage(F =-3.069, p〈0.003). 4. Statistically significant factors influencing the self-esteem among sociodemographic variables were age(F=3.992, p=0.000), education(F=2.260, p=0.026), housing(F=-1.987, p=0.049) and satisfaction of marriage(F =-2.305, P=0.023). 5. There was a significant correlation between family support and self-esteem(r=.621, p〈.000). In conclusion, perceived the family support was important for middle age women to increase their self-esteem. Nurses should be aware of the necessity of family support in the supportive nursing of middle age women and should be able to make a plan to educate the family about supporting the wife/mother. The continuing study of the health promotion of middle age women to find out variables influencing middle age women' health must continue.

This study is a part of Korean traditional steamed rice cake in layers, which come from Cho-sun Dynasty. It examined the effects of texture which makes Bokryoungchowhago, a type of medicine rice cake, sensational and physical characteristics through medicinal stuffs and preservation periods. After this period, I examined the taste and additional functions of people in modern society and found the followings: 1. The analysis about general ingredients of rice flour shows that rice flour soaked in water has 38.11% of water, 0.25% of reference ingredients, 5.11% of protean, and 0.52% of fat. 2. The result of brightness in chromaticity reveals brightness with increasement of the number of all samples in 4℃ and 20℃, and it shows brightness in the order of honey, oligo sugar, sugar and syrup. The value of a shows the increase of syrup, sugar and oligo sugar, but the decrease of honey. The value of b shows the increase of syrup, oligo sugar and honey, but the decrease of sugar. 3. The result of pH evaluation displays 6.11~5.90 in 4℃ and 6.11~9.54 in 20℃ in the case of syrup, and has higher numerical result of pH in 20℃ more than 4℃. There are the numerical results of pH as the order of syrup, honey, oligo sugar and sugar. 4. The evaluation result of sugar degree shows the degree of sugar degree in the order of syrup, honey, sugar and oligo sugar in 4℃ according to time. The result in 20℃ is the order of honey, syrup, sugar and oligo sugar. 5. The sensational evaluation displays that sugar and honey has good at chewing taste, wetness of inside, and the feeling after swallowing in preservation temperature of 20℃. However, when time passes, oligo sugar displays the highest scores in these fields and sugar displays the lowest scores. 6. The sensational characteristics, which mostly influence the preference rate of Bokryoungchowhago, show as the order of the feeling after swallowing and chewing taste. This result explains oligo sugar among sweetening materials has the best meaning characteristics according the process of preservation time. 7 The evaluation of physical properties by Rheometer displays that the change of hardness of Bokryoungchowhago pertaining oligo sugar as sweetening materials has lower than syrup. This result explains the higher delay of the ageing process according to longer preservation time. 8. The relations between sensational examination and mechanical examination show that the hardness of organization in sensational examination has meaningfully positive relations with of hardness mechanical examination. Overall satisfaction of sensational examination has negative relations with the hardness, positive relations with feeling after swelling, inner moisture and chewiness, and positive relations with elasticity mechanically measured.
