Through case analysis of Novartis’ issues management and public relations strategy in South Korea, the study explores how Korean health activists evaluate the relationship with Novartis and the factors behind the negative evaluations of public relations and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) strategies. The study found that although they are satisfied with the relationship with Novartis and they benefit from the outcomes of Novartis’ CSR activities, the health activists don’t regard the company as good or trustworthy. Their reasons lie in two beliefs. First, they think the company never put patients’ and the community’s wellbeing before its financial interests. Also, they claimed that Novartis’ effort in CSR investment is insufficient repayment to the community in comparison to its great success in the Korean market. The study suggests global pharmaceutical company’s issues management should consider local culture and politics to build a better deal with issues raised by local health activism.
ATTITUDE AND BEHAVIOR MISMATCH IN ETHICAL CONSUMERISM: WHY WE BUY BRANDS WE HATE
Kyujin Shim,Jikyung Kim 글로벌지식마케팅경영학회 2023 Global Marketing Conference Vol.2023 No.07
In ethical consumerism, the issue of ethical attitudes not translating to ethical behaviors has been highly debated. While previous studies attribute this attitude-behavioral mismatch to the lack of education, hypocrisy, or low commitment, we propose a novel approach of applying Moral Foundation Theory (MFT) to account for the phenomenon. MFT identifies two dimensions of morality: individualizing moral foundations (INDI) which focuses on justice and harm, and binding moral foundations (BIND) which emphasizes authority and loyalty. Using responses from more than 4,000 consumers from four culturally and regionally diverse markets, we investigate the differing roles of moral foundations in response to a scenario on a sweatshop issue of a supplier whose factory is in a developing country. We use the mediator-moderator model of MFT-anticorporate attitude-boycott behavioral intention sequence to examine the differing role of INDI and BIND. Our results show that INDI and BIND are both positively related to anticorporate attitude; However, BIND is negatively related to boycott behavioral intention while INDI is positively related. That is, consumers with a strong BIND may show an attitude-behavioral mismatch although they are highly ethical.

Nowadays, study about hydrogen fuel which consist of hydrogen extraction and reform ing processes, fuel cell equipment, and receptacle are flourishing all over the world. Currently, Korea hydrogen station is still underdeveloping. And also the most important part which is hydrogen compressor has not been developed. Snubber is one of the important parts in hydrogen compressing system. It is installed before and after reciprocating hydrogen compressor. Snubber has two functions. One is making down pulsation waveform. Because pressure hydrogen gas where is after passing through reciprocation compressor part has high pulsation waveform, so this waveform has to decline. And the other function is precipitating alien substances to outside. Normally, even if 99.99% hydrogen gas is still containing alien substance. Buffer is set up inside snubber and the waveform will hit buffer. This snubber study uses CFD analysis, then it compares between with-buffer snubber and without-buffer snubber.

Multi-Object Tracking (MOT) is an essential task in computer vision, applied various fields like video surveillance and autonomous driving. Recently, tracking-by-detection-based trackers have shown promising performance and have become predominant approaches in MOT. Our study presents a novel pseudo-depth-based appearance feature vector update algorithm to improve those tracking-by-detection-based multi-object trackers. Experiments on the DanceTrack dataset reveal significant performance improvements compared to the previous feature updating strategies.

Image deblurring aims to remove image blur, which can be generated while shooting the pictures by the movement of objects, camera shake, blurring of focus, and so forth. With the rise in popularity of smartphones, it is common to carry portable digital cameras daily, so image deblurring techniques have become more significant recently. Originally, image deblurring techniques have been studied using traditional optimization techniques. Then with the recent attention on deep learning, deblurring methods based on convolutional neural networks have been actively proposed. However, most of them have been developed while focusing on better performance. Therefore, it is not easy to use in real situations due to the speed of their algorithms. To tackle this problem, we propose a novel deep learning-based deblurring algorithm that can be operated in real-time on HD resolution. In addition, we improved the training and inference process and could increase the performance of our model without any significant effect on the speed and the speed without any significant effect on the performance. As a result, our algorithm achieves real-time performance by processing 33.74 frames per second at 1280x720 resolution. Furthermore, it shows excellent performance compared to its speed with a PSNR of 29.78 and SSIM of 0.9287 with the GoPro dataset.

As one of the most promising energy resources, because of the renew-ability, hydrogen gas has become popular. In order to fulfill the economic aspect of hydrogen mass production, performance of Hydrogen station must be improved. The most important system which is hydrogen compressing process has not been developed well. One of these components is snubber which has function to reduce pulsation waveform and to remove the impurities in the hydrogen gas. Therefore a snubber is equipped by a buffer, an inclined plate attached inside it. Two comparing parameters, used to examine a snubber performance, are pressure lost and pressure amplitude reduction. The best snubber is the one which has the least pressure lost and the most pressure amplitude reduction. An experiment to investigate the importance of buffer had been done and gave empirical proof that with-buffer type is better than without-buffer type. Furthermore, investigating geometric size for optimum with-buffer snubber has been done by numerical analysis approach. In this study, thirteen different models were numerically compared using CFD software program. The independent variables were snubber height, buffer width and buffer inclined angle. Meanwhile the snubber diameter was kept constant.
