Modern computer use caches to reduce the gap between processor speed and memory access time. The cache performance has an increasingly large impact on the performance of algorithms. But most of algorithms have been designed to minimize instruction counts and the cache performance was not considered. In this study, we have developed extended deap algorithms to maximize cache utilization and shown by experiments that our algorithms are superior to traditional deap algorithms in average execution time. In this paper, we present an integrated strategy of partitioning and scheduling. We apply FDS technique for the scheduling. But, we use the relative scheduling urgency for partitioning that is the effect of an assignment of a node to a specific time step. The proposed algorithm produced good results and better execution time than paper [14]'s results for all benchmarks. In the future, we should include the communication costs between hardware and software components.

It is known that mutagenic effects can be related to various serious diseases, including cancer and birth defects. Therefore, detailed attention must be given to methodologies for evaluation of mutagenicity of dental materials, so that safe use of the products is ensured. The aims of this study were investigated the potential mutagenicity of compounds from 9 commercial dentin bonding agents (including primers and adhesives) using the Ames Salmonella typhimurium/microsome assays. Through this tests, Tenure S Bond Enhancer was showed mutagenecity and Tenure and Prima less in Salmonella typhimurium TA100 without metabolic activation. Hipolite Dentine was showed slight and Veridonfil-Photo, Prima and Tokuso Mac-Bond less in Salmonella typhimurium TA100 with metabolic activation. From this study, it was needed to further study with other kind of mutagenic tests.

Uncariae Ramulus et Uncus(UR, ???) has sweet in flavour and slightly cold in property, acting on the liver and pericardium channels. This drug was described in a medical classic as having the ability to remove "heat", check hyperfunction of the liver and relieve dizziness, tremors, and convulsion, and subdue "endogenous wind". So this study was planned to check the neuroprotective effect of UR on the global ischemia induced by 4-vessel occlusion in Wistar rats. and UR extract was lyophilized after extraction with 70% methanol. We induced 4-vessel occlusion for 10 minutes and reperfused again. The number of CA1 pyramidal neurons were counted after 7 days of reperfusion under the cresyl violet staining. In 4-VO ischemia model, UR showed significantly neuroprotective effects(1,000 and 500 ㎎/㎏ of UR extracts, p<0.05) compared with control group. Each neuroprotective ratio was about 23.0%, 19.0% respectively. Consequently, Uncariae Ramulus et Uncus has neuroprotective effects on the global ischermia induced by 4-vessel occlusion in Wistar rats. So we expect that Uncariae Ramulus et Uncus can be used as a drug for neurodegenerative disease.

Background : The cun measurement System, an essential and convenient method in locating acupoints, has been widely used in the practice of acupuncture. However, traditional cun measurement has been criticized for its lack of reliability. Objectives : The purposes of this study are to determine if one cun measured by the directional methods have a consistency with that of proportional methods and to investigate which factors are related with these differences, especially in forearm. Methods : The distance between the elbow crease and the wrist crease of forearm was compared to a reference value of one cun obtained by the directional method. In this method, one cun is one third of the distance between index finger and Small finger of a subject, measured at proximal interphalangeal joint. In addition, to investigate the factors influencing the differences between these two methods, we measured the height and body weight and calculated body mass index (BMI). Finally we analyzed the factors correlated with these lengths by linear regression test. Results : The results showed that one cun obtained by the directional methods were significantly different from one cun by the proportional methods in forearm. It was demonstrated that the length acquired with the directional method was more correlated with body weight and body mass index, while the length obtained by the proportional method was more correlated with the height.

<P>There have been many clinical trials to collect bone debris utilizing special equipment and to apply in the bone graft procedure simultaneously. Collected bone debris (CBD) may be contaminated by bacteria. This may lead to iatrogenic contamination of recipient sites by grafted bone debris. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of strict suction protocol on the levels of bacterial contamination. Total 41 patients (21 male and 20 female patients) with a mean age of 48.97 were selected in this study. They were randomly divided into two groups in this study. One group consisted of a single-suctioning group, while the other was dual-suctioning group. A bone collecting device was used to collect bone specimens during drilling. Samples were obtained and cultures of CBD were performed. Among the 41 samples of cultured bone debris, only 16 samples yielded viable microorganisms. Microorganisms were detected in the 54.5% (12/22) of single-suctioning group, and in 21.1% (4/19) of dual-suctioning group (p=0.03). The majority of microorganisms were Gram positive cocci. It was shown that erythromycin and clindamycin were more effective than penicillin in the antibiotics sensitivity test. It was concluded that the use of strict suction protocol could reduce the bacterial contamination.</P>

<P>Core binding factor (CBF)-positive acute myeloid leukemia (AML) presents a favorable prognosis, except for patients with KIT mutation, especially D816 mutation. The current retrospective study attempted to validate a prognostic role of KIT mutation in 121 Korean patients with CBF AML. The study patients consisted of 121 patients with CBF AML (82 patients with RUNX1/RUNX1T1 [67.8?%] and 39 patients with CBFB/MYH11 [32.2?%]) recruited from eight institutions in Korea. All patients received idarubicin plus cytarabine or behenoyl cytosine arabinoside 3?+?7 induction chemotherapy. The KIT gene mutation status was determined by direct sequencing analyses. A KIT mutation was detected in 32 cases (26.4?%) in our series of patients. The KIT mutation was most frequent in exon 17 (n?=?18, 14.9?%; n?=?16 with D816 mutation), followed by exon 8 (n?=?10, 8.3?%). The presence of KIT D816 mutation was associated with adverse outcomes for the event-free survival (p?=?0.03) and for the overall survival (p?=?0.02). The unfavorable impact of D816 mutation was more prominent when the analysis was confined to the RUNX1/RUNX1T1 subtype. The KIT mutation was detected in 26.4?% of Korean patients with CBF AML. The KIT D816 mutation demonstrated an unfavorable prognostic implication, particularly in the RUNX1/RUNX1T1 subtype.</P>
Neuroprotective Effect of Anthocyanin on Experimental Traumatic Spinal Cord Injury

Objective : We investigated the neuroprotective effect of anthocyanin, oxygen radical scavenger extracted from raspberries, after traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) in rats. Methods : The animals were divided into two groups : the vehicle-treated group (control group, n=20) received an oral administration of normal saline via stomach intubation immediately after SCI, and the anthocyanin-treated group (AT group, n=20) received 400 mg/kg of cyanidin 3-O-${\beta}$-glucoside (C3G) in the same way. We compared the neurological functions, superoxide expressions and lesion volumes in two groups. Results : At 14 days after SCI, the AT group showed significant improvement of the BBB score by $16.7{\pm}3.4%$, platform hang by $40.0{\pm}9.1%$ and hind foot bar grab by $30.8{\pm}8.4%$ (p<0.05 in all outcomes). The degree of superoxide expression, represented by the ratio of red fluorescence intensity, was significantly lower in the AT group ($0.98{\pm}0.38$) than the control group ($1.34{\pm}0.24$) (p<0.05). The lesion volume in lesion periphery was $32.1{\pm}2.4\;{\mu}L$ in the control and $24.5{\pm}2.3\;{\mu}L$ in the AT group, respectively (p<0.05), and the motor neuron cell number of the anterior horn in lesion periphery was $8.3{\pm}5.1$ cells/HPF in the control and $13.4{\pm}6.3$ cells/HPF in the AT group, respectively (p<0.05). Conclusion : Anthocyanin seemed to reduce lesion volume and neuronal loss by its antioxidant effect and these resulted in improved functional recovery.

The tiny dragonfly, Nannophya pygmaea(Odonata: Libellulidae) is one the smallest dragonflies in the world and listed as a second-degree endangered wild animal and plant in Korea. For the long-term conservation of such endangered species, an investigation on nation-wide genetic magnitude and nature of genetic diversity is required as a part of conservation strategy. We, thus, sequenced a portion of mitochondrial COI gene, corresponding to "DNA Barcode" region(658 bp) from 68 N. pygmaea individuals collected over six habitats in Korea. The sequence data were used to investigate genetic diversity within populations and species, geographic variation within species, phylogeographic relationship among populations, and phylogenetic relationship among haplotypes. Phylogenetic analysis and uncorrected pairwise distance estimate showed overall low genetic diversity within species. Regionally, populations in southern localities such as Gangjin and Gokseong in Jeollanamdo Province showed somewhat higher genetic diversity estimates than those of remaining regions in Korean peninsula. Although geographic populations of N. pygmaea were subdivided into two groups, distance- or region-based geographic partition was not observed.
