        피하기종,기종격을 동반한 제초제 중독 1례

        Paraquat(1,1-dimethyl-4,4-bipyridium dichloride) is lethal herbicide and it is thought to act by turning into superoxide and peroxide free radical in the presence of reducing agents. Among the multiple organ failure, the pulmonary complication is always fatal. We present the case of a patient with subcutaneous emphysema and pneumomediastinum without pneumothorax on 6days later after acute paraquat ingestion. A 28 years old female patient was admitted ED at 10:40 on September 8, 1995(Day 1) after ingestion of 10cc-15cc of paraquat (20% solution) at 20:00 on yesterday. By the sodium dithionite test, the presence of paraquat was negative in the urine. She was alert without oropharyngeal ulceration and had stable vital signs. Her hepatic function was moderately deteriorated (SGOT/SGPT 389/867, ALP 233, TB 5.7) and the others laboratory findings were normal limits. She was transferred to ICU and treatment was according to a our protocole(Table 1). On day 6, she complainted numbness on the right lateral neck and respiratory difficulty. The chest X-ray showed subcutaneous emphysema, pneumomediastinum and pneumomediastinum without pneumothorax. Day after day, the size of subcutaneous emphysema and pneumomediastinum were decreased on chest x-ray and it was not found inflammatory signs. The chest CT showed pulmonary fibrosis on the both lower lung field(onday 10) and the esophagography showed no specific findings without dye leakage(on day 14). On day 16, The high resolution chest CT was showed diffuse pulmonary opacity with cystic lesions and peribronchovascular air densities were found with pericardial emphysema and pneumomediastinum. At 4:30 a.m. on day 18, the respiratory arrest was developed and she was expired at 4:35 a.m. under DNR.

        Abstract-After biotransformation of myrcene with Aspergillus niger KCCM 32005, its neutral metabolites were isolated from the conversion broths and analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Myrcene was converted into various terpenoids. Among them the five compounds, which were considered to be important as flavor, were identified as follows; terpinen-4-ol. α-terpineol, trans-carveol, cis-carveol, and carvone. Higher production was accomplished when the amount of myrcene was kept at lower but steady concentration by portion-wise introduction to the culture broth.

        The effect of neuropeptides on secretion of Interleukin-8(IL-8)

        본 연구는 치수조직, 치은, 치주인대로부터 배양된 조직을 SP (Substance P)로 4시간, SP, CGRP (Calcitonin Gene-related Peptide), Tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α)로 8시간 자극 후 RNase Protection Assay를 시행하고, IL-8의 분비량을 측정해 다음 결과를 얻었다. 1. IL-8 mRNA는 모든세포에서 발현됐다. 2. IL-8 mRNA 발현은 SP (10^(-5)M)와 SP (10^(-8)M)로 4시간 자극 시 증가되지 않았다. 3. IL-8 mRNA 발현은 SP (10^(-4)M)와 CGRP (10^(-6)M)로 8시간 자극 시 증가되지 않았다. 4. TNF-α (2 ng/㎖) 자극 시, IL-8 mRNA 발현이 증가됐다. 5. 치은 세포를 CGRP (10^(-6)M)로 8시간 자극 시, IL-8 분비량이 증가했다 (p < 0.05). 6. 치주인대 세포를 SP (10^(-4)M)로 8시간 자극 시 IL-8 분비량이 증가했다 (p < 0.05). We investigated the secretion of Interleukin-8 (IL-8) from ginviva and periodontal ligament stimulated with Substance P (SP) and Calcitonin Gene-related Peptide (CGRP). Gingiva (GF), periodontal ligament (PDLF) and pulp (PF) tissues were collected from extracted instact 3rd molars. Cultured cells were stimulated with different concentrations of SP for 4 hrs, and stimulated with SP, CGRP and Tumor Necrosis Factor-α (TNF-α) for 8 hrs. Then RNase Protection Assay was carried out. ELISA was performed using supernatants of stimulated cells for quantitative analysis of IL-8. Results were assessed using supernatants of stimulated cells for quantitative analysis of IL-8. Results were assessed using student t-test with significance of P < 0.05. According to this study, the results were as follows: 1. IL-8 mRNA was detected in all type of cells studied (PF, GF and PDLF). 2. IL-8 mRNA expression was not increased after stimulating 4 hrs with SP (10^(-5)M) and SP (10^(-8)M) compared with Mock stimulation in all type of cells studied. 3. IL-8 mRNA expression was not increased after stimulating 8 hrs with SP (10^(-4)M) and CGRP (10^(-6)M) compared with Mock stimulation in all type of cells studied. 4. TNF-α (2 ng/㎖) increased the expression of IL-8 mRNA in all kind of cells studied. 5. The secretion of IL-8 from GF was increased 8 hrs after the stimulation with CGRP (10^(-6)M) (p < 0.05). 6. The secretion of IL-8 from PDLF was increased 8 hrs after the stimulation with SP (10^(-4)M) (p < 0.05). Calcitonin Gene-related Peptide (CGRP) increased Interleukin-8 (IL-8) which plays an important role in chemotaxis of neutrophil in Calcitonin Gene-related Peptide (CGRP) gingival tissue, whereas Substance P increased the secretion of IL-8 from periodontal ligament.

      • 養液裁培에 의한 상추의 物質生産 및 光合成에 特性에 關한 硏究

        These experiments were carried out for three terms (1st : 5/23-6/28, 2nd : 8/14-9/l9, 3rd : 9/20-l1/11) to investigate the rate of Dry Matter Production and Photosynthesis of hydroponically cultivated lettuce. The results were obtained as follows : 1.The number of Lettuce leaf in each culturing term was higher in the third term than in others and the emergence rate of the 1st term was the factest one. 2.Among the terms, the photosynthetic activity was in its highest in the 1st term. Progressing curve of photosynthesis during the day showed similar patterns but the highest rate of photosynthesis occurred at noon in the first term, 1 P.M. in the second term, and 11 A. M. in the third term. 3.Fresh weight of the 3rd term increased to 158% compared to that of the 1st term. However, that of the 2nd term decreased to 54% and the rate of dry weight and of specific leaf area decreased, too.

        In recent years, as the demands of VBNS(Very high speed Backbone Network Service) and VDSL(Very high-data rate Digital Subscriber Line) increase, the development of kernel parts of optical communication such as PLC(Planar Light Circuit), Coupler, WDM elements increase. The alignment and the attachment technology are very important to fabricate the optical elements for communication. In this paper, the mechanism of rotational stage are studied. with the three different method and the results of them are applied to the design of the system. The performance test of resolution and travel is performed.

        충남대학교 학술림 산책로 훼손실태 및 관리방안에 관한 연구

        This study concentrates an the trail of the CNU(Chungnam National University) forest. The amount of use and the pattern of damage are considered, as well as the extent of environmental damage. Finally, some managerial strategies are proposed in connection with sustainable maintenance. The trail of the university forest is composed of three sections; one is the neighborhood park and the Institute of Information Technology/Communications, the second is the Institute of Information Technology/Communications and the Dormitory, and the third section is the Dormitory and the Foreign prof's Apt. The total length of the trail is 2.6km. The daily amount of use is 1,269 visitors per day. The amount of using increased three times the amount of that in 1998. This study shows the pattern of damage of the trail in the order of root-exposure, widening, rock-exposure, deepening and the divergence in the frequency of occurrence of all these factors. Environmental damage is also graded thus: grade 3 is 27.4m, grade 4 is 0.8m, grade 5 is 1.5m, and grade 6 is 0.2m. Accordingly, some managerial strategies were proposed in connection with the sustainable trail maintenance.

        적외선 흡수 분광법 및 DPC를 이용한 치과용 수복재의 광중합 거동 분석

        Mechanical properties of compomers would be obtained mainly by photopolymerization by visible light irradiation. Photopolymerization behavior of two commercial compomers was investigated by FT-IR spectral analysis and differential photocalorimetry(DPC). The results obtained were as follows: 1. From FT-IR analysis, it was found that the compomer products were photocured mainly by radical polymerizations of multifunctional methacrylate monomers. Final conversion values of the polymerizations after exposure to visible light for 60 sec were 67% for Dyract and 59% for Compoglass. 2. Upon exposure the compomers exhibited autoacceleration and autodeceleration, which are usually observed in bulk polymerizations of multifunctional monomers. 3. Dyract showed higher rate of polymerization and conversion of double bond than Compoglass.

        PathGAN: Local path planning with attentive generative adversarial networks

        For autonomous driving without high-definition maps, we present a model capable of generating multiple plausible paths from egocentric images for autonomous vehicles. Our generative model comprises two neural networks: feature extraction network (FEN) and path generation network (PGN). The FEN extracts meaningful features from an egocentric image, whereas the PGN generates multiple paths from the features, given a driving intention and speed. To ensure that the paths generated are plausible and consistent with the intention, we introduce an attentive discriminator and train it with the PGN under a generative adversarial network framework. Furthermore, we devise an interaction model between the positions in the paths and the intentions hidden in the positions and design a novel PGN architecture that reflects the interaction model for improving the accuracy and diversity of the generated paths. Finally, we introduce ETRIDriving, a dataset for autonomous driving, in which the recorded sensor data are labeled with discrete high-level driving actions, and demonstrate the state-of-the-art performance of the proposed model on ETRIDriving in terms of accuracy and diversity.

        Enhanced Anti-reflective Effect of SiN<sub>x</sub>/SiO<sub>x</sub>/InSnO Multi-layers using Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition System with Hybrid Plasma Source

        Multi-layer films of $SiN_x/SiO_x$/InSnO with anti-reflective effect were grown by new-concept plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition system (PECVD) with hybrid plasma source (HPS). Anti-reflective effect of $SiN_x/SiO_x$/InSnO was investigated as a function of ratio of $SiN_x$ and $SiO_x$ thickness. Multi-layers deposited by PECVD with HPS represents the enhancement of anti-reflective effect with high transmittance, comparing to the layers by conventional radio frequency (RF) sputtering system. This change is strongly related to the optical and physical properties of each layer, such as refractive index, composition, film density, and surface roughness depending on the deposition system.
