The experiment was conducted at the growth chamber to determine germination, seedling growth and fresh weight between the untreated control and iron-coated seeds in germination test of the rice seeds. There was of 95% germination in rice seeds regardless of treatments and days for seedling emergence was relatively 13-14days. Seedling height was 4.9cm of the iron-coated seeds but 0.4cm of the untreated control and there was 6.S roots of seedling in iron-coated seeds and 5.5 roots of seedling in the untreated control, respectively. The fresh weight of seedling was 107mg of the iron-coated seeds and 66mg of the untreated control at 35days after sowing.

This paper was studied on a strategy in rice production under New round system of WTO(World Trade Organization) in Korea. Under enactment of New round system in WTO rice will be opened at the world market and thus rice growers will compete with this marketing system. In this regard, rice industry in Korea would be "a theory of rice triangle" such as high quality, low cost, and environmental friendly system. High quality rice would be obtained through a cultivar, cultivation technology, and quality control(QC) to compete against oversea's dealer. Lower cost in rice production should be concentrated into rapid decrease in rural population and into introducing for young generation. Rice cultivation has been played major role in this peninsula in terms of a preservation of water resource, fresh air and prevention of soil erosion.
${\alpha}-In_2S_3:Co^{2+}$ 단결정의 광학적 특성에 관한 연구

The ${\alpha}-In_2S_3:Co^{2+}$ single crystal with a good quality and stabilized property were gained successfully by the CTR(Chemical Transport Reaction)method. XRD analysis showed that the grown single crystals were cubic structure. The optical absorption spectra of ${\alpha}-In_2S_3:Co^{2+}$ single crystal showed impurity absorption peaks due to cobalt impurity. These impurity absorption pesks were assigned to the ligand transition between the split energy levels of $Co^{2+}$ ions sited in $T_d$ symmetry of these semiconductor host lattice.

규산질비료이용 복토직파재배 개선을 위한 폿트시험 연구에서 얻어진 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 본 연구에서 복토재료에 따른 초기 입모율차이는 무복토 55.0%에 비하여 복토처리로 90~100%의 높은 입모율을 보였다. 특히 파종직후 강우조건에서는 무복토 0%의 출아를 보인반면 복토처리에서는 65~100%의 입모율을 보였으며 강우 시에는 무복토 조건에서도 85%의 비교적 높은 입모율을 보였다. 특히 토양을 이용한 복토처리구에서는 강우로 인하여 20%의 매우 낮은 입모율을 보였는데 이는 수분에 의한 토양층 형성으로 산소공급 및 유모출아 조건이 불량하여 입모율이 극히 저조한 것으로 나타났다. 출수기 벼 생육은 무복토(비강우)처리구를 제외한 모든 처리구에서 비교적 양호한 벼 생육을 보였다. 벼 수량은 초기 입모 및 중간생육이 불량한 무복토(비강우) 및 토양 복토구(강우)에서 낮은 수량성을 각각 보였다.
담수직파 파종 전 제초제 처리에 따른 철분코팅종자와 잡초성 벼의 출아, 입모 및 초기생육 영향

This research was conducted to determine a pre-germinated herbicides with iron-coated seeds in water and wet hill seeded rice. Days of rice seedling emergence was the faster germination at the application of benzobicyclon > oxadiazon > thiobencarb > butachlor and the sealed iron-coated seeds with pre-germinated seeds> pre-germinated seeds> iron-coated seeds with pre-soaking. The seedling establishment was relatively high in untreated control and benzobicyclon among seed treatments by 63.7% and 75.7%. There was 100% seeds killed of pre-germinated seeds in terms of herbicide phytotoxicity and sealed iron-coated seeds with pre-germinated seeds in butachlor but benzobicyclon was of safe with 2% rice seeds killed. Infant rice seedling height was of 9.2-12.9cm in benzobicyclon and 11.9-16.3cm in untreated control and thus there was relatively normal development and growth at the initial rice seedling.

Purpose : The lateral cephalometric Korean norms of the skeletal and pharyngeal dimension were analyzed for the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome(OSAS). Materials and Methods : The lateral cephalometric radiographies were taken in male(n=53) and female(n=50), who had a normal profile, class I occlusion, normal ANB $(0{\sim}4^{\circ})$ and normal Wits $Appraisal(-4{\sim}0mm)$. The X-rays were traced by two oral and maxillofacial surgeons twice. The significant differences between male-female and examiners were tested. Results : The angle of mandibular line to Nasion-Sella line was $31.12^{\circ}/33.79^{\circ}$ (in male/in female, p=0.0018). The lower Gonion angle was $73.74^{\circ}/73.74^{\circ}(p=0.9978)$. The length of the soft palate was 36.93mm/34.35mm(p=0.0002). The pharyngeal airway space was 13.42mm/11.55mm at mandibular plane level(PAS(ML))(p=0.0025). The hyoid was placed inferiorly to mandibular plane 10.18mm/7.72mm(p=0.0051). The results from this study are to be used for the diagnosis of OSAS.

Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) is characterized by sleep-induced obstruction of the upper airway that results in cessation of airflow. Obstruction can occur at a number of points in the airway, but frequently in the oropharynx. A diagnostic evaluation includes cephalometry, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, acoustic reflection technique, polysomnography and fibroptic endoscopy. Cephalometric measurements of the patients with obstructive sleep apnea have revealed that posterior airway anatomy has strong relations with the symptoms of them. A lateral cephalogram is routinely obtained in the radiologic evaluation of sleep apnea patients. The purpose of this study is to provide a the lateral cephalometric korean norms for the diagnosis and treatment of the patients with obstructive sleep apnea by analyzing the abnormal occlusion of Korean adults.

The purpose of this study cephalometrically evaluated changes in the posterior airway space for patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome(OSAS) before and after surgical advancement of the maxilla and mandible. The change in calculated airway resistance was correlated with the respiratory disturbance index(RDI). Twenty cephalometric radiographs were traced before and after surgery to determine the posterior airway area and calculate resistance. Polysomnograms of each patient were obtained before and after surgery. All patients had a decrease in calculated airflow resistance in the airway. The mean amount of resistance was 865.15 before surgery, decreasing to 192.65 after surgery (p<0.01). Eighty-five percent of the patients experienced improvement in their RDI. Reduction in the RDI appears to be due to an increase in the posterior airway space and decrease in flow resistance.
