백서 대장암의 동종면역효과에 관한 연구 : Effect of Cancer Bearing Rat Serum

In recent years, there has been much interests in identification and characterization of numerous tumor relating substances including ectopic hormones, oncofetal antigens, or abnormal enzymes for the diagnosis and monitoring of malignant tumors. But, practically so called cancer antigen, such as AFP, CEA, or TPA, which has been never used toward manufacturing anti-cancer antibody, while only used to compete the cancer tissue type specificity. Nowadays, cancer antigen must be actually applied in the field of cancer treatment by means of the mediator or inducer for anti-cancer antibody formation. This study researched the alloimmunization effect of the serum components obtained from cancer developing animals, chemical carcinogen (NG: N-methyl-N'-nitroso-N-nitrosoguanidine) induced colon adenocarcinoma model, in 216 male rats, and gained following results: 1. In cancer producing rats, the CRP levels were maintained evenly high values althrough the experimental period, but serum TPA was gradually increased along sequential studies, while βCG and LDH were increased in early acute phase and sooner decreased in late phase. 2. The individuals, those were alloimmunized by the serum acquired from cancer bearing rats, represented significantly high cancer rejection rate, especially in the group which was infused the serum of conspicuously high TPA concentration. 3. In the long survivers and cancer resistance group, could observed neither high βCG level nor increased LDH value, however the early deaths revealed extremely higher βCG and LDH levels in contrast of relatively lower TPA concentration. 4. So, there was able to confirm the fact that not only cancer rejection antigenicity was presented in the serum of cancer developing individuals, but also could gained prominent allommunization effect utilizing such serum of high occurring TPA believing one of immunologic cancer rejectives by itself or mediation of antibody inducing effects.

Being adopted the Cellular Systems in Korea, the method of a radio repeater is that the mobile station(MS) can be used only in a service area of the base station(BS). In case that traffic congestion is occured around the specific BS because of an event etc., the traffic blocking rates are being maximized and the subscriber service is being dropped. To improve these problems, we propose an algorithm for a radio repeater network that distributes the traffics of the specific BS, predicted traffic congestion, to an adjacent BS by sharing a service area. And then, we confirm the valid through the simulation.

Primary small cell carcinoma of the stomach is a very rare cell type in gastric cancer and an extremely aggressive tumor with grave prognosis. Because of the highly malignant potency, chemotherapy for the primary therapy of small cell carcinoma is accepted generally. We report a 44-year-old man with primary advanced gastric small cell carcinoma who respond to cisplatin and etoposide combination chemotherapy.
Common dental anomalies in Korean orthodontic patients: An update

Objective: The aim of this study was 1) to investigate the prevalence and pattern of dental anomalies (DAs), 2) to compare DAs according to the type of malocclusion, and 3) to investigate the correlation between tooth impaction and other DAs in the Korean orthodontic population. Methods: A total of 3,240 orthodontic patients were classified as Class I, Class II, or Class III malocclusion groups. The presence and location of common DAs, including impaction, microdontia, agenesis, supernumerary tooth, transposition, and fusion, were identified by examining diagnostic records. Furthermore, samples were classified as Group 1 without impaction or Group 2 with impaction. The prevalence of other DAs concurrent with impaction was investigated and compared to Group 1. Results: Impaction was the most prevalent DA, followed by microdontia, agenesis, and supernumerary. Class I and Class III groups showed the same order of prevalence, but agenesis was more frequent than microdontia in the Class II group. The prevalence of the four DAs was lowest in the Class III group. Overall, 8.6% of patients were classified into Group 2. The incidence of DAs other than impaction and the prevalence of multiple concurrent DAs were significantly higher in Group 2. Impaction showed a significant relationship with supernumerary tooth, transposition, and fusion. Conclusions: The prevalence and pattern of DAs varied depending on the type of malocclusion. As there was a higher risk of other DAs in patients with impacted teeth, early detection of the impacted tooth and a detailed diagnosis of other possible DAs may be essential.

<P>Cyclin-dependent kinase (Cdk) in complex with a corresponding cyclin plays a pivotal role in neurogenic differentiation. In particular, Cdk4 activity acts as a signaling switch to direct human mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) to neural transdifferentiation. However, the molecular evidence of how Cdk4 activity converts MSCs to neurogenic lineage remains unknown. Here, we found that Cdk4 inhibition in human MSCs enriches the populations of neural stem and progenitor pools rather than differentiated glial and neuronal cell pools. Interestingly, Cdk4 inhibition directly inactivates Smads and subsequently STAT3 signaling by hypophosphorylation, and both Cdk4 and Smads levels are linked during the processes of neural transdifferentiation and differentiation. In summary, our results provide novel molecular evidence in which Cdk4 inhibition leads to directing human MSCs to a multipotent neurogenic fate by inactivating Smads-STAT3 signaling.</P>
