      • 32인치 LCD TV용 면광원 램프의 최적 구동에 관한 연구

        Characteristic properties of backlight arraying electrodeless fluorescent lamps assembled with capacitive coupled electrode connector have been investigated in various frequencies with a switching inverter. In the backlight of a 17-in diagonal with 12 lamps driven by square pulses, the efficiency of 100 lm/W and the luminance of 10000~14000 cd/㎡ have been achieved in the frequency range of 20~60 kHz where the higher frequency provides the lower operating voltage in the range of 2~4 kV.

      • 수공구조물과 통수단면적이 홍수 위에 미치는 영향

        자연하천에서의 홍수위는 수공구조물과 통수단면적에 의해 많은 영향을 받게 된다. 최근 도시화, 산업화의 급속한 발달로 홍수위가 계획홍수빈도의 상향조정과 교량건설 등으로 인해 증가하는 추세이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 왕숙천의 일부구간을 대상으로 교량건설로 인한 배수위 상승과 하상준설로 인한 홍수위 하강에 대해 분석해 보았다. 홍수위 분석은 에너지 방법, 운동량평형방법 및 Yarnell방법으로 방법별, 빈도별, 그리고 단면적별로 산정하였다. 홍수위 산정결과 에너지방법과 Yarnell방법은 교량건설 전후에 홍수위에 미치는 영향이 아주 미소하게 나타났고, 운동량평형방법은 너무 과대하게 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며, 계획홍수빈도의 증가에 따라 홍수위도 거의 일정하게 증가하였다. 그리고 통수단면적의 증가에 따라 홍수위는 점점 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 교량건설과 하상준설시 홍수위가 증가하지 않는 허용범위 내에서 통수단면적을 충분히 확보할 수 있도록 계획을 수립하여야 할 것으로 사료된다. Flood stage in natural rivers is many influenced by hydraulic structures and conveyance section area. Recently, Flood stage to rapidly develope of city and industrial is a tendency increasing with upward of design flood frequency and bridge construction. Therefore, on the study with object to a reach of the Wangsookcheon Creek was analysis for flood stage. Flood stage analysis was calculated by method, frequency and section area with energy, momentum equilibrium, and Yarnell method. Calculated results of flood stage appeared to minor energy and Yarnell method, very increased with momentum equilibrium method, increased nearly constant with increase of design flood frequency. And flood stage with increase of conveyance section area appeared to gradually decreased. Therefore, flood stage to bridge construction and stream bed dredging operations was thought of could set up plan fully maintain to conveyance section area into allowable limits.

        두겹의 실리콘 판을 이용한 새로운 도서형 피막피판에 대한 연구

        The search for a new flap with minimal donor morbidity has been pursued by many plastic surgeons. Numerous donor sites available for microsurgical composite tissue transplantation have been described owing to the tremendous advances made in the field of microsurgery. To be suifable for use as a free flap, a sizable vessel must be included within the tissue, leading to significant donor morbidity. There have been studies for prefabrication of an axial pattern flap in an effort to create a new flap, but most of these methods relied solely on revascularization of a preexisting composite tissue. Our experiment, using an isolated femoral artery and vein as the main pedicle, led to formation of a capsule flap through a normal foreign body reaction between 2 silastic sheet implants. On this induced capsule flap, a skin graft was performed and a total of 40 axial pattern capsulo-cutaneous flaps from 20 Sprague-Dawley rats were successfully obtained after nearly 12 weeks through 4 stages of experiment, including a delay procedure at the second stage. Pathology revealed neovascularization, and abundantly impregnated vascular structures near the pedicle were observed along with random pattern collagen fibers. The skin graft took 100% on this newlyformed axial pattern capsular flap and thus implied that the capsule structure was able to survive on it`s own and was able to support skin grafts. This new flap using only the isolated artery and vein structure can be induced according to various needs with minimal donor morbidity.

      • 산지 소하천에서의 교각세굴심에 관한 실험적 연구

        현재 국내에서는 매년 교량이 붕괴되거나 심각한 피해를 입고 있다. 이들의 대부분은 홍수시 세굴로 인해 기초지반이 유실됨으로써 발생된다. 따라서 세굴에 의한 피해를 줄이기 위하여는 우선 이에 대한 기초적 연구와 함께 교량설계시 예상되는 세굴깊이를 정확히 산정하고 이를 설계에 합리적으로 반영시키는 것이 필요하다. 본 논문은 신논미교 교각 주위에서의 국부세굴심을 해석하는 모형실험을 기초로 하고 있다. 그리하여 6개의 기존의 국부 세굴심을 산정하는 공식과 HEC-RAS 모형을 이용하여 논미천에 위치한 신논미교에서의 교각설치에 따른 국부 세굴심을 산정하고 수리모형실험을 실시하여 나온 실험값과 서로 비교하여 가장 적합한 세굴공식을 제시하였다. 실험한 결과 수리모형실험한 세굴심이 1.34m가 나왔고, HEC-RAS모형 결과는 2.33m가 나타났다. 또한 기존의 세굴공식들 간에서도 CSU 공식, Shen 공식이 가장 크게 나왔고, Neil 공식과 Qureshi공식이 가장 작은 세굴심값을 나타냈다. 이 중 Breusers 식에 의한 값(1.40m)이 가장 실험값과 유사하게 나와 금번 연구지점인 신논미교에 대해 비교적 적합하다고 판정된다. At present, Korea has been facing the collapsed or damaged bridges every year. Most of these are caused by being washed away by the flood. Therefore, to diminish the damage by scour, above of all, it is necessary to not only compute the expected scour depths for the bridge design along with a fundamental study but also be reflected on the process of the design rationally. This study based on the laboratory works, analyzes local scour depths surrounding New-Nonmi bridge pier. This thesis exhibits a scour equation which suits our plan most by comparing the calculation of local scour depths for a bridge building located in Nonmi stream with the experimental results from a model test utilizing the existing six local scour equations and HEC-RAS Model. The experimental result is as follows. Scour depths by the hydrologic model experiment was 1.34m and HEC-RAS Model was 2.33m. And among the existing scour equations, the results by CSU Eq. and Shen Eq. were the largest values and those by Neil Eq. and Qureshi Eq. had the smallest ones. Of those results, since the value 1.40m estimated by Breusers is turned out to be similar to the experimental value, it is judged that the study of New-Nonmi bridge this time is suited to our purpose relatively.

      • Biallelic Deletion of Pxdn in Mice Leads to Anophthalmia and Severe Eye Malformation

        <P>Peroxidasin (PXDN) is a unique peroxidase containing extracellular matrix motifs and stabilizes collagen IV networks by forming sulfilimine crosslinks. PXDN gene knockout in Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) and Drosophila results in the demise at the embryonic and larval stages. PXDN mutations lead to severe eye disorders, including microphthalmia, cataract, glaucoma, and anterior segment dysgenesis in humans and mice. To investigate how PXDN loss of function affects organ development, we generated Pxdn knockout mice by deletion of exon 1 and its 5′ upstream sequences of the Pxdn gene using the CRISPR/Cas9 system. Loss of both PXDN expression and collagen IV sulfilimine cross-links was detected only in the homozygous mice, which showed completely or almost closed eyelids with small eyes, having no apparent external morphological defects in other organs. In histological analysis of eye tissues, the homozygous mice had extreme defects in eye development, including no eyeballs or drastically disorganized eye structures, whereas the heterozygous mice showed normal eye structure. Visual function tests also revealed no obvious functional abnormalities in the eyes between heterozygous mice and wild-type mice. Thus, these results suggest that PXDN activity is essential in eye development, and also indicate that a single allele of Pxdn gene is sufficient for eye-structure formation and normal visual function.</P>

        Solitary Keratoacanthoma at the Recipient Site of a Full-Thickness Skin Graft: A Case Report and Review of the literature

        A 57-year-old man presented with a pigmented papule, 0.4 cm in diameter, on the left lower eyelid. Skin biopsy revealed a basal cell carcinoma, which was excised through a wide excision followed by a full-thickness skin graft (FTSG). Two weeks after the surgery, an erythematous nodule developed in the lower margin of the graft recipient site. The nodule size increased rapidly over 2 weeks, becoming dome-shaped with a central hyperkeratotic plug. A diagnosis of keratoacanthoma (KA) was made, and surgical excision was performed. Histological findings revealed a large, well-differentiated squamous tumor with a central keratin-filled crater and buttress. The HPV genotyping results were negative. Risk factors for KA include trauma, old age, exposure to UV radiation, immunosuppression, and HPV infection. KA has most often been reported to develop at the donor site. Although the pathogenesis of KA is unclear, trauma is believed to act as a second insult to a preceding oncogenic insult, such as exposure to UV radiation, resulting in a koebnerization. Herein, we report a case of solitary KA at a FTSG recipient site. This report presents information that may provide guidance during dermatologic surgeries.

        Trigeminal somatosensory evoked potential test as an evaluation tool for infraorbital nerve damage

        Background: Neurosensory changes are frequently observed in the patients with mid-face fractures, and these symptoms are often caused by infraorbital nerve (ION) damage. Although ION damage is a relatively common phenomenon, there are no established and objective methods to evaluate it. The aim of this study was to test whether trigeminal somatosensory evoked potential (TSEP) could be used as a prognostic predictor of ION damage and TSEP testing was an objective method to evaluate ION injury. Methods: In this prospective TSEP study, 48 patients with unilateral mid-face fracture (only unilateral blow out fracture and unilateral zygomaticomaxillary fracture were included) and potential ION damages were enrolled. Both sides of the face were examined with TSEP and the non-traumatized side of the face was used as control. We calculated the latency difference between the affected and the unaffected sides. Results: Twenty-four patients recovered within 3 months, and 21 patients took more than 3 months to recover. The average latency difference between the affected side and unaffected side was 1.4 and 4.1 ms for the group that recovered within 3 months and the group that recovered after 3 months, respectively. Conclusion: Patients who suffered ION damage showed prolonged latency when examined using the TSEP test. TSEP is an effective tool for evaluation of nerve injury and predicting the recovery of patients with ION damage.

        First Report of Cucumber mosaic virus Infecting Pinewood Coneflower (Rudbeckia bicolor) in Korea

        A virus isolate causing symptoms of yellow mosaic, fern leaves, malformation and plant necrosis on Rudbeckia bicolor was prevalent around Pyeongchang area in Korea. The causal virus was identified as Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) using characteristics from biological, serological and molecular analyses and named as CMV-Rb. CMV-Rb caused mosaic on Nicotiana benthamiana, N. tabacum, Capsicum annuum, and Lycopersicon esculentum. However, typical local lesions did not develop on inoculated Pisum sativum, Cucurbita moschata, Datura stramonium and Tetragonia expansa plants. Full-length genome sequences of CMV-Rb RNAs 1, 2 and 3 were obtained using 12 primer pairs by RT-PCR analysis. The genome of CMV-Rb RNA segments 1, 2, and 3 consists of 3363nt, 3049nt, and 2214nt in length, respectively. In order to ascertain their taxonomic identity, nucleotide and the deduced amino acid sequence analyses RNAs 1, 2 and 3 of CMV-Rb isolates were conducted with previously reported sequences of CMV strains and/or isolates. CMV-Rb RNAs showed about 90 to 99% sequence identity to those of subgroup I strains suggesting that CMV-Rb is more closely related to CMV isolates belong to subgroup I. To our knowledge, this is the first report of CMV on Rudbeckia bicolor in Korea.
