A Performance Enhanced UHF RFID System with Modified I/Q Diversity Receiver

In this paper, we propose a modified I/Q diversity scheme receiver of UHF RFID reader system. The modified I/Q diversity receiver is more robust than the conventional homodyne receiver in the wireless noisy, fading channel and phase noise environments by making use of additional axes. In particular, it is shown that the closer the phase difference ${\theta}(t)$ between the reader and the tag to ${\pi}/4$, the larger performance improvement we can get. The performance of the proposed receiver is verified by equations and is demonstrated by the computer simulation for various difference ${\theta}(t)$ cases.
채널 부호를 적용한 EPC C1 Gen2 RFID 시스템

본 논문에서는 UHF대역에서 EPC C1 Gen2 규격을 지원하는 RFID시스템에 대해, 무선 채널환경에 의한 성능저하를 극복하기 위한 채널부호 적용 방법 및 이를 지원하는 개선된 태그 구조를 제안한다. 리더는 무선채널 환경의 영향을 지속적으로 모니터링하고, 통화품질이 기준 이하로 나빠졌을 때에만 채널 부호를 적용하도록 효율적으로 설계되었다. 기존의 태그에 비하여 무시하여도 좋을 만큼의 게이트 수 증가만으로도 채널부호 기능을 수행할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해, 채널부호방식이 적용되지 않은 기존의 태그신호 수신 성능과 다양한 채널부호 방식이 적용된 태그신호 수신 성능을 비교 분석하였고, 뚜렷한 성능 개선이 있음을 확인하였다. For the UHF EPC C1 Gen2 RFID system, to overcome the performance degradation in wireless channel environments, we proposed a modified tag structure which supports channel coding and its applied methodology. The reader consistently monitors the wireless channel status and sets to use channel coding functions for tags and reader only if wireless channel is corrupted. Compared with previous tag complexity, only negligible gates are needed to implement channel coding. By simulation we showed an obvious performance improvement of the identification reliability.

The air pollution inside a building has become a big problem for a modern society that people spend most of their days inside. In this paper, We tried to resolve the problem by developing a photocatalysts highly active inside. A photocatalyst is in fact not suitable for indoor use because it only reacts under strong ultraviolet rays in general. Furthermore, the price of such photocatalysts is still highly expensive to adopt in massive quantity for an indoor finishing material even though it has been priced down from number of studies operated until present. In order to solve problems, the attempts to bring out the certain level of reactions even under weak level of ultraviolet rays by adding Ni and Zn, the transition elements were made in this examination. Moreover, KA100 that is fairly economical among commercialized products is used as a precursor to lower the price and improved the characteristics of photocatalysts through a simple process of heating. Therefore, the experiments were varied with different rates of adding Ni and Zn to KA100 and temperatures for the combination of a photocatalysts and transition elements.

Recently, indoor air pollution is issued due to closed building for saving energy emerged. In this study, to solve the problem, photocatlysts were investigated. Photocatlysts are harmless to human body and remove air pollutant. In order to activate photocatalysts in visible ray, experiments was conducted to dop transition metal elements on photocatlysts. Transition metal elements were added to Ti0₂ by 3%, 6%, 9% and heated by 600℃, 800℃ and 1000℃ to make the samples.
