This study was conducted to provide field-based harvesting study information which can be used to select an optimal cable system for certain work conditions on steep grounds (>20° ground slope) in Korea. Toaccomplish this study objectives, we evaluated three cable yarding systems (RME-300T tower-yarder, Chuncheontower-yarder, FARMI tractor winch) working in typical work conditions for their yarding productivity and operational efficiency. Those yarders are commonly used for removing logs or trees on steep grounds in Korea. Under the same work conditions (average DBH of tree to be cut, 20 cm; yarding distance, 60 m; lateral yardingdistance, 10 m; and machine utilization rate, 70%), the average productivities were 33.04 m3/day, 38.47 m3/day, and 14.17 m3/day for RME-300T, Chuncheon tower-yarder, and FARMI, respectively. Our standardized cost comparison study also showed that the yarding cost was highest at 37,835 won/m3 with FARMI, followed byRME-300T at 25,105 won/m3 for the same work conditions. We found the lowest yarding cost with the Chuncheon tower-yarder at 20,520 won/m3 which was resulted primarily from high yarding productivity at theyarding distance (60 m). Our analysis suggested that a small machine such as FARMI could be a low-costyarding machine option for a cable yarding job with a short yarding distance (40 m or less). The Chuncheontower-yarder is well suited for a mid-range yarding distance job in Korea, ranged between 40 to 140 m. Ifyarding distance were longer than 140 m, the RME-300T tower yarder appears to be most cost-effective.
항암화학요법 중 호중구감소증이 발생한 저위험군 발열 환자들을 대상으로 한 경구 항균제 요법의 임상적 유용성 및 안정성에 대한 연구

목적 : 항암화학요법 중 호중구감소증을 동반한 발열이 발생하는 암환자들을 치료하기 위한 다양한 항균제와 여러 가지 방법들이 시도되고 있는 가운데, 합병증과 사망률의 발생가능성이 적은 저위험군 환자들을 대상으로 초기 72시간동안 정주 항균제를 투여한 이후 경구 항균제로 전환하는 요법의 유용성과 안정성을 평가해보고자 본 연구를 시행하였다. 방법 : 1998년 2월부터 1999년 9월까지 본원에서 항암화학요법 중 호중구감소증과 발열이 발생한 환자들 가운데 기저 암질환이 고형암이거나 림프종이고, 입원당시 패혈증의 증후가 없으며 입원 72시간이내에 해열되고 백혈구수치가 증가 추세인 환자들을 대상으로 하여 72시간 동안 정주 항균제를 투여한 이후 경우 ciprofloxacin 750㎎을 하루 2회씩 투여하여 총 4일간 투여하였다. 모든 환자들은 열이 떨어지고 호중구감소증이 회복될 때까지 입원하도록 하였다. 결과 : 총 38명 환자의 40예가 등록이 되었고, 환자들의 기저암 질환은 고형함이 72.5%, 림프종이 27.5%였다. 입원당시 평균 호중구치수는 156/㎕였고, 호중구수치가 100/㎕미만인 경우는 65%였으며, 호중구감소증이 지속된 기간의 평균은 2.4일이었다. 40예 중 39예가 항균제의 변형이나 추가 없이 호중구감소증과 발열로부터 회복이 되어 97.5%의 성공율(95% 신뢰구간: 86.8-99.9%)을 보였다. 부작용으로 피부발진이 있었던 경우가 한 예 있었는데, 증상이 경하여 경구 항균제를 지속할 수 있었다. 심와부의 동통으로 복용을 지속할 수 없어서 대상에서 제외된 예가 또 한 예 있었다. 결론 : 항암요법 중 호중구감소증과 발열을 동반한 환자들 가운데 저위험군 환자들에서 항균제 72시간정주 이후 경구 항균제로의 전환요법은 효과적이고도 안전한 치료방법이라고 할 수 있다. Background : Oral antibiotic therapy following empirical intravenous antibiotics may be effective and safe for febrile neutropenic patients with lowrisk for complications. Methods : We conducted a prospective clinical trial of oral antibiotic therapy in the patients with neutropenia and fever during chemotherapy for cancer. Underlying malignancies were solid tumor or lymphoma with short duration of neurtropenia and the patients had no evidence of clinically or microbiologically documented infections. Oral ciprofloxacin was given to the patients who lacked signs of sepsis on admission, had a rising tendency of neutrophil count (ANC >100 /㎕ ) at 72 hours, and were afebrile at 72 hours. All patients were hospitalized until neutropenia and fever resolved. Results : A total of 40 episodes of 38 patients were enrolled from February 1998 to September 1999. The mean neutrophil counts on admission were 156/㎕ and the mean duration of neutropenia was 2.4 days. The episodes which had neutrophil count below 100 /㎕ were 26 (65%). Treatment was successful in 39 of 40 episodes (97.5% : 95 % confidence interval, 86.8% to 99.9%). Adverse reactions of oral ciprofloxacin were skin rash and epigastric soreness in two cases, respectively. There were no deaths during the study. Conclusions : For low-risk febrile patients with neutropenia during cancer chemotherapy, switch therapy to oral ciprofloxacin at 72 hours following intravenous broad-spectrum antibiotics is effective and safe,
침 치료의 통증 및 우울증 개선 효과와 뇌신경 반응성 조절 기전 연구

Objectives : We aimed to identify the effects of acupuncture treatment on alleviating pain and depression and modulating brain neural activity in the neuropathic pain and depression comorbidity mouse model (PDCM). Methods : We performed partial sciatic nerve ligation on the right hind paw of mice to induce neuropathic pain and injected reserpine (2 mg/kg, intraperitoneal) for 10 days from the day of the surgery to induce pain and depression. Acupuncture treatment was performed for 10 days at the following locations: 1) ST36 and SP6 (Joksamni and Sameumgyo; JS), 2) KI1 and HT7 (Yongcheon and Sinmun; YS), 3) LR1, PC9, KI10, and PC3 (Pericardium tonification; PT), or 4) LR1, HT9, KI10, and HT3 (Heart tonification; HT). Pain-like behavior was measured using the von Frey test and depressive-like behavior was assessed using the open field test. Then, the c-Fos expression was analyzed in the brain regions of neocortex, striatum, hypothalamus, hippocampus, midbrain, and medulla to examine brain neural activity. Results : In PDCM, pain-like behavior was alleviated by acupuncture treatment on the JS, YS, PT, and HT, and depressive-like behavior was improved by acupuncture treatment on the JS and YS. JS and YS were derived as an optimized acupoint combination for improving neuropathic pain and depression comorbidity. Brain neural activities in the neocortex (infralimbic cortex) and hypothalamus (paraventricular hypothalamic nucleus; PVN) were commonly altered by both JS and YS acupuncture treatments. In addition, neural activities in the neocortex (prelimbic cortex; PrL) and midbrain (substantia nigra, lateral part of the dorsal raphe nucleus) were altered exclusively by JS acupuncture treatment, while changes in the area 2 of the anterior cingulate cortex and the cornu ammonis 3 of the hippocampus were specific to YS acupuncture treatment. Brain neural activity in the PrL and PVN regions was significantly correlated with changes in pain behavior. Conclusions : Both JS and YS acupuncture treatments alleviated pain and depressive-like behaviors, which were associated with modulation of neural activities in the neocortex, hypothalamus, hippocampus, and midbrain.

As a simplified model for the motion of fivers in polymeric fluids, we visualized experimentally the free falling behavior of a slender body in quiescent polymer solutions. In this paper, the effects of body diameter and flow properties of solutions on the falling behavior were investigated. The influence of theological properties on the falling behavior was also discussed. From this study, it was clarified that a slender body falling in non-Newtonian polymeric fluids rotates its posture into vertical direction and moves translationally remaining a constant inclination angle. Further, it was also found that, as a decrease in body diameter and an increase in solution concentration, the final orientation of a body becomes closer to vertical direction. 고분자 유체중에서의 섬유의 기본적 운동특성에 대한 단순화 모델로서 정지상태의 고분자 용액중에서의 선상체의 자유낙하거동을 사진촬영기법으로 가시화하였다. 본 논문에서는 선상체 직경과 유체의 유동특성이 낙하거동에 미치는 영향을 조사하고, 유체의 유변학적 특성이 선상체의 운동특성에 미치는 영향에 대해 고찰하였다. 이상의 연구를 통해 고분자 유체중에서 선상체의 자유낙하는 수직방향으로 회전하는 경향을 나타내며 어느 정도의 시간이 경과하면 일정각을 유지한 채 병진운동만을 수행함이 밝혀졌다. 그리고, 선상체 직경의 감소 및 고분자용액 농도의 증가는 선상체 낙하거동을 수직방향의 최종배향으로 회전시키려는 경향을 나타냄이 확인되었다.

In this paper, a statistical radio propagation prediction model of received power using the geographic information system is proposed, by making use of a combination and empirical methods. The validation of the proposed prediction model has been made with the measured data for various radio environment. Note that the use of the prediction model paves the way for estimating received signal level as a function of distance. Since the proposed prediction model included the effect of ground reflected waves and diffracted waves, the variability of signal strength caused by surrounding man-made structures can be predicted with accuracy.

A 1-year old, intact male Jin-do dog with ataxia, hypersalivation and anorexia was referred to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University. Ivermectin toxicosis was diagnosed by the history taking, clinical signs, physical examination and neurological examination. After therapy with intravenous fluid and lipid emulsion administration, the clinical signs were found to have significantly improved.

In this paper, the compatibility studies between radio LAN(RLAN) and wireless system according to the mutual interference characteristics in the 5GHz band was proposed. These results were obtained from the theoretical and experimental analysis between RLAN and wireless systems such as EESS, SAR, and radars. As the results, the RLAN requires that dynamic frequency selelction(DFS) shall be used in order to reduce the interference to other systems operating in these bands, and different polarization shall be used with the polarization characteristics of other systems.
