      • Finding Factors as Predictors of Children’s Well-being Focusing On Resilience During the COVID-19 Pandemic Based on Analysis Results of the “Survey on Children’s Daily Life Among Eight Asian Countries 2021”

Junko Ogawa(Junko Ogawa ),Seiko Mochida(Seiko Mochida ),Haruo Kimura(Haruo Kimura ),Aiping Liu(Aiping Liu ),Yoichi Sakakihara(Yoichi Sakakihara ) The Pacific Early Childhood Education Research Ass 2024 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhoo Vol.18 No.1

This study aimed to obtain implications on childrearing and childcare practices for achieving children's well-being through analyzing factors predicting children's well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic in eight Asian countries. We primarily focused on “resilience,” the ability to cope with and recover from difficult situations, which had been confirmed from previous studies as a positive factor towards children’s development in the context of hardships. We also chose other potential predictors referring to Bronfenbrenner’s ecological systems theory, including mothers’ concerns about COVID-19, household income, number of playmates, support from childcare facilities/schools, family environments, and children’s lifestyles, and examined how these predictor variables predict children’s well-being. We found that children’s resilience strongly predicted their well-being, which was common in all eight countries. Family factors and children's daily life factors were also associated with children's well-being. The country-specific analysis also indicated the importance of support from childcare facilities/schools on well-being. Well-being and resilience are both psychological constructs and often studied as important indicators of child health. Resilience has been spot-lighted as an effective protective factor for children experiencing adversities such as the COVID-19 pandemic. We have found that resilience was the strongest predictor of well-being among other factors even during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Covert generalizations in Optimality Theory: the role of stratal faithfulness constraints

        Junko Ito,Armin Mester 한국음운론학회 2001 음성·음운·형태론 연구 Vol.7 No.2

Ito, Junko, and Armin Mester. 2001. Covert generalizations in Optimalitv Theory: the role of stratal faithfulness constraints. Studies in Phonetics, Phonology and Morphology 7.2. 273-299. Is it possible for a phonological generalization to persist even when it has ceased to hold of the whole lexicon? We show how the basic architecture of Optimality Theory (OT) imposes a subset organization on lexical inventories, which manifests itself in lexically covert generalizations. The central predictions flow directly from the core tenets of OT, namely, that all grammatical constraints are ranked in a strict order of preference and are in principle violable, with violation always minimized in winning outputs. On the empirical side, we review the evidence for subset organization in the lexical inventories of real languages, focusing on grammar-induced entailment relations between nativization phenomena that other approaches fail to predict. On this foundation, we build a general optimality theoretic model of the phonological lexicon that accommodates the familiar differences between strata - including, but not limited to, the distinction between native words and loanwords - within a unitary constraint system and correctly predicts the existence of a core-periphery structure in the lexicon, without additional assumptions and mechanisms. Formally speaking, our proposal reduces to the claim that stratum-specific input-output faithfulness is both necessary and sufficient (i) to account for the stratal organization of a language's lexicon and (ii) to capture higher-level entailment relations between nativization effects. • A Construction Method of Cluster-tree Topology Suitable for Dense ZigBee Network

        Junko Nagata,Yosuke Tanigawa,Hideki Tode,Koso Murakami 한국멀티미디어학회 2009 한국멀티미디어학회 국제학술대회 Vol.2009 No.-

In dense wireless sensor networks (WSNs), packet collisions between sensor nodes degrade the efficiency on power consumption and gathering measured data. In this paper, we focus on IEEE802.15.4/ZigBee, the standardized technologies suitable for WSNs, and form a dense sensor network with cluster-tree topology. We propose a construction method of cluster-tree with multiple channels. The performance of the method is evaluated using computer simulation.

Class 1 KNOX Gene Expression Supports the Selaginella Rhizophore Concept

        Junko Kawai,Yoichi Tanabe,Sumitomo Soma,Motomi Ito 한국식물학회 2010 Journal of Plant Biology Vol.52 No.4

The spikemoss is marked by the unique rootproducing pleurogeous rhizophore as well as the lycophytic microphyll. Imaichi and Kato (Bot Mag Tokyo 102:369–380, 1989; Am J Bot 78:1694–1703, 1991) revealed that the exogenous developmental process in the rhizophore is clearly distinguishable from the developmental process in the endogenous root, argued that the axial organ could be coordinate with other fundamental organs including the root and stem, and demonstrated the “rhizophore concept.” In this paper, we report on the expression pattern of the spikemoss Selaginella class 1 KNOX gene, SuKNOX1, in the rhizophore. We show that the SuKNOX1 mRNA is specifically accumulated at the tip of the rhizophore as well as the shoot apical apex, but not in the root tip. This result supports the “rhizophore concept” at the molecular level.

Spin-Lattice Relaxation in Pyridazine Perchlorate (C4H4N2)HClO4

        Junko Hatori,K Tanigawa,S Ikehata,T Kato,Y Yoshida,Y. Mastuo,Z Czapla 한국물리학회 2007 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.51 No.2I

We have carried out dierential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements in order to investigate the change in the molecular dynamics accompaning by the phase transition at Tc = 343 K. We found that drastic decrease in the line width of the 1H-NMR absorption line was observed at Tc. Moreover, a decrease in the 1H spin-lattice relaxation time that accompanied the phase transition at 343 K was also observed. These results indicate that a re-orientational motion of the (C4H5N2)+ ion appears above Tc. In addition, an anomalously large thermal anomaly (10.6 kJ/mol) was observed at Tc. From these results, we deduced that the phase transition at 343 K was caused by the appearance of a re-orientational motion of the (C4H5N2)+ ion.

Characteristics of Interactional Management Functions in Group Oral by Japanese Learners of English

        ( Junko Negishi ) 범태평양응용언어학회 2010 범태평양응용언어학회지 Vol.14 No.1

This study attempted to investigate the characteristics of interaction dynamics in a group oral interaction carried out by Japanese learners of English. The relationship between the participants` language development and interactional management functions (IMFs) was also explored. Oral performance tests in a paired or a small group have recently been introduced because the assessment of L2 learners` authentic conversational competence is considered important in the current era of globalization. Qualitative analysis showed that some characteristics, namely, modifying or developing the topic and negotiation of meaning, displayed an association with the development of the participants` language ability. More proficient speakers` dialogues of this study showed a more complex, co-constructed, and collaborative nature, with more interactions and negotiation of meaning.

      • The ‘Last’ Friendship Exchanges between Siam and Vietnam, 1879–1882: Siam between Vietnam and France—and Beyond

Junko Koizumi 서강대학교 동아연구소 2016 TRaNS(Trans –Regional and –National Studies of Sou Vol.4 No.1

Studies of Siam’s diplomatic relations from the mid-nineteenth century have been focussed on its troubled relations with Western colonial powers, often within a bilateral framework. While highlighting issues such as territorial losses and treaty revisions, scholarly interest tends to have overlooked Siam’s relations with its neighbouring countries. Based on archival records at the National Archives of Thailand, this article aims to fill this gap by examining diplomatic exchanges between the Siamese and Vietnamese courts that took place between 1879 and 1882. In April 1879, a royal mission from the Vietnamese court bearing gifts and a royal letter from Tự Ðức to Chulalongkorn arrived in Bangkok. It was allegedly the first formal mission from the Vietnamese court in almost half a century after the two countries had come into conflict in the 1830s. By examining how Siam and Vietnam sought to maintain and manipulate ‘traditional’ interstate relations in the face of treaty arrangements that France enforced upon Vietnam, this article reveals complex issues involved in the process of negotiations, such as the questions of maintaining the equality between the two monarchies and of the ‘translation’ of the concepts of sovereignty between Thai and Sino-Vietnamese languages, and suggests the necessity to pay more attention to historical and broader regional contexts in Asia.

      • Development of preparation, effective tools for the child in hospital

        Junko Hattori,Miyuki Nishihara,Akemi Kumita,Akira Okazaki,Yuta Koma,Oh Gi-Dong 대한인간공학회 2014 대한인간공학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2014 No.5

In child nursing field, bring out the self-efficacy “preparation” has become an important care for the children to red uce their fear and anxiety before undergoing the medical inspection and treatment and help them to understand the de scription more clearly. Preparation has been done a lot in many places, yet the system, which includes common conte nt, can be shared has not been built. The object is to share the preparation tools and develop the effective tool for medical field. This time, as the first-st ep, we would like to develop a preparation tool that has collective rewards for children. Review the preparation content by expert committee and literature; we selected eight items such as hospitalization, blood sampling, infusion, surgery, hospital discharge etc. Which are the common preparations have to be done to the hospitalization children. From the 5 prototypes, which were made by designers, we have adopted petal type tools that can be folded, played by children and also collected as a reward medals. From July to August in 2013, we researched reviews of this preparation tool from 89 children patients and 69 guardians, 60 nurses in pediatric hospital. As the result, this preparation tool was favorably commented, the children were encouraged and they were happy to collect some rewards. At the free discussion, the subjects said they have enjoyed folding the petal type tool many times over and over, and this also encouraged the children to collect petals as their reward. From these favorable comments we confirmed our purpose has succeed. In the further study, we will customize the tools more sophisticated depending on the gender and developmental stage of the children and build a system that can be shared among the medical field.
