This experimental study was carried out to evaluate the immunomodulatory effects of Ekong-san. To evaluate the immunomodulatory effects of Ekong-san, delayed type hypersensitivity, hemagglutinin and hemolysin titers for hymoral immune response, rosette forming cells for cell-mediated immune response, natural killer cell activity, proliferation of lymphocyte, productivity of Interleukin-2, and carbon clearance were measured with methotrexate treated mice. The results were summarized as follows; 1.The influence of the treatment on hemagglutinin and hemolysin titers, rosette forming cells, the proliferation of lymphocyte, and productivity of Interleukin-2 was dose-dependent and the results showed a significant difference when compared to control group. This implies that the humoral immune response was activated. 2.The natural killer cell activity was significantly increased in both sample groups as compared to the control group when the effector cell:target cell ratios were 100:1 and 0:1. However when the ratio was 10:1, there was no significant difference with the control group. 3.Carbon clearance, the proliferration effect of phagocytes was significantly increased sample group as compared to the control group. According to the results, Ekong-san has the immuno-activity. We could suggest that Ekong-san is able to be applied to the anti-cancer treatment and prevention.
한국 연안 퇴적물에서 ^137Cs, ^90Sr 및 Pu 동위원소의 분포

한국 주변 연안 15개 정점의 퇴적물(0∼20 cm)에서 ^137Cs, ^90Sr, ^239+240Pu 의 농도와 농도비를 조사했다. ^137Cs, ^90Sr, ^238Pu 및^239+240Pu의 평균 방사능 농도는 각각 2.24±0.79 Bq·kg^-1-dry, 0.20±0.04 Bq·kg^-1-dry, 0.009±0.005 Bq·kg^-1-dry 및 0.27±0.17 Bq·kg^-1-dry이다. ^137Cs/^90Sr, ^239+240Pu/^137Cs 및 ^238Pu/229+240Pu의 평균 농도 비와 ^239Pu/240의 평균 원자 비는 각각 11.2±2.9, 0.123±0.053, 0.033±0.01 및 0.218±0.036이다. 퇴적물에서 핵종의 농도 범위와 핵종간의 농도 비는 그 동안 주변국가의 퇴적물에서 조사한 값과 비슷하였다. 퇴적물에서 ^137Cs과 ^239+240Pu의 상관계수는 0.80이다. ^137Cs과 SOM, ^239+240Pu과 점토 함량과의 상관계수는 각각 0.69, 0.67 이다. The concentrations and activity ratios of ^137Cs, ^90Sr, ^238Pu and ^239+240Pu in sediment(0∼20 cm) at 15 coastal stations of Korea were determined. The mean concentrations of ^137Cs, ^90Sr, ^238Pu and ^239+240Pu are 2.24±0.79 Bq·kg^-1-dry, 0.20±0.04 Bq·kg^-1-dry, 0.009±0.005 Bq·kg^-1-dry and 0.27±0.17 Bq·kg^-1-dry, respectively. The mean activity ratios of ^137Cs/^90Sr, ^239+240Pu/^137Cs and ^238Pu/^229+240Pu and atomic ratio of ^240Pu/^239Pu are 11.2±2.9, 0.123±0.053 and 0.033±0.017 and 0.218±0.036, respectively. The concentrations and activity ratios in sediment samples are similar to those reported from neighbouring country in the northern hemisphere. The correlation coefficient of ^137Cs and ^239+240Pu is 0.80. The correlation coefficient of ^137Cs and soil organic matter(SOM), and ^239+240Pu and clay content are 0.69 and 0.67, respectively.
A Comparison of ECMA PCTE and ODMG

Integrated Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tool environments are essential to improve productivity of software development. To provide portable integrated tool environments, Portable Common Tool Environment (PCTE) was introduced. PCTE is a standard for Software Engineering Environments (SEEs). PCTE provides a number of SEE repository services as a form of public tool interface for CASE tools. Object-Oriented Database Management Systems (OODBMS) is considered as the next generation DBMSs. OODBMSs can manipulate complex data, such as SEE data, which cannot be managed by traditional DBMSs. ODMG is a standard OODBMS interface proposed by Object Database Management Group (ODMG). The goal of this paper is to compare the two standards, PCTE and ODMG.

소프트웨어 규모를 LOC (Lines Of Code)로 산정하는 방법의 문제점을 극복할 수 있고, COCOMO의 장점을 살릴 수 있는 COCOMO와 FP를 결합한 비용산정 도구 (Cost Estimation Tool, CET) 개발의 필요성과 그의 구현에 대하여 알아본다. 또 COCOMO 모델을 조정해야 할 필요성, COCOMO 모델을 환경에 맞게 조정하는 방법, 그리고 그 방법에 의해 COCOMO 모델을 조정해 주는 COCOMO 조정 도구(COCOMO Adjustment Tool, CAT)의 구현에 대하여 알아본다.
In Vitro Cytotoxicity of a Novel Platinum (2) Coordination Complex Containing Diaminocyclohexane

We have synthesized a novel platinum(II) coordination complex containing trans-l-1,2-diaminocyclohexane (DACH) as a carrier ligand and 1,2-dichloroethane (DCE) as a leaving group. A new series of [Pt(trans-l-DACH)(DCE)](PC) was evaluated for its cytotoxic activity on MKN-45 human gastric adenocarcinoma cells and normal primary cultured kidney cells. The new platinum complex has demonstrated high efficacy in the cytotoxicity against MKN-45/P, MKN-45/ADM and MKN-45/CDDP cell-lines. The cytotoxicity of PC against rabbit proximal renal tubular cells, human renal cortical cells and human renal cortical tissues, determined by MTT assay, the [³H]-thymidine uptake and glucose consumption tests, was found to be quite less than those of cisplatin. Based on these results, this novel platinum(II) coordination complex appears to be better for improving antitumor activities with low nephrotoxicity and is a valuable lead in the development of new, clinically available anticancer chemotherapeutic agents.
