        원론적인 이야기이지만 미술관이라는 곳은 작품의 수집과 보존이 첫 번째 설립 목적이라 할 수 있다. 하지만 미술관은 이러한 의미 외에도 많은 의미를 가지고 있다. 예전에 유럽에서의 미술관들은 전쟁에서 남편이나 자식을 내 보낸 여성들의 기다림과 그들의 희생을 정당화, 합리화하는 방편으로도 설립되었다. 전쟁에서의 승리를 확인시켜주는 동시에 전리품을 통해서 그 전쟁에서 희생된 가족들의 죽음이 결코 헛되지 않았다는 것을 널리 알릴 수 있는 자리가 되었던 것이다.

      • 개 시상하부의 Neuropeptides에 대한 면역조직화학적 연구

        The distribution and localization of somatostatin(SOM), neuropeptide Y(NPY), vasopressin(VP), and oxytocin(OT) were studied with a immunohistochemical technique in the canine hypothalamus. The SOM-immunoreactive perikarya were concentrated in the anterior periventricular and the arcuate nuclei. Immunoreactive terminals were observed in the arcuate, the ventromedial hypothalamic, the suprachismatic nuclei and the external layer of the median emmence. A great number of NPY-immunoreactive cell bodies were found in the arcuate nucleus and NPY fibers were located throughout the hypothalamus with the highest concentration especially in the paraventricular (PVN) and the acuate nuclei. Moderately or densely stained fibers were also observed in the median eminence, the suprachiasmatic. the periventricular, the ventromedial hypothalamic, the dorsomedial hypothalamic and the medial preoptic nuclei, and the stria terminalis. Both VP-and OT-containing perikarya were found mainly in the PVN and supraoptic nucleus(SON). but a few were seen in the perifornical area, the lateral hypothalamus, the dorsal hypothalamic and the periventricular nucleus. The fibers originated from the PVN were projected to the SON via ventral or dorsal area of the fornix.

      • 자연임신에서 분만 및 주산기 예후에 대한 임상적 고찰

        Object: To compare pregnancy outcome between term pregnancy and postterm pregnancy. Method: A clinical observation has been made on 60 cases of postterm pregnancies out of 64 cases delivered at the Dept. of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Soonchunhyang University from January 1, 1997 to May 31, 2002. 100 cases of full term deliveries of 37 to 42 gestational weeks conducted in same period were used as the control group for this study. We analyzed their cesarean section rate, fetal weight, placental weight, meconium stain, perinatal morbidity. The statistical significance was defined as P<0.05. Result: The following results were obtained 1. The incidence of postterm pregnancy was 1.34%. 2. The cesarean delivery rate in postterm group(51.7%) was significantly higher than control group(26%). 3. The incidence of large fetus (weight over 4,000gm) in the postterm group(21.7%) was higher than control group(2%). 4. The weight of placenta was 757g and 706g in the postterm group and control group respectively. 5. 1, 5 minute Apgar score lower in the postterm group than control group. Conclusion : To decrease perinatal morbidity and cesarean rate at 42 or more weeks gestation, appropriate labor induction and twice weekly biophysical profile and USF(AI, Doppler) may be indicated.

      • 만성 활동성 간염에 있어서 Ursodeoxycholic acid의 치료효과

        The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical and biochemical effects of SGD-F^(R)(UDCA, Vitamin B_1, Vitamin B_2 complex) in chronic active hepatitis. Observed cases were given orally after each meal(three times a day) for 4 weeks. The results were as follows: 1. Among subjective symptoms, improvement rate showed in easy fatigability 86.7%, anorexia 68.0%, indigestion 80.0%, nausea and vomiting 72.7%, RUQ pain 83.3%. 2. Biochemical parameters such as SGOT, SGPT, showed to be improved significantly after the 4 weeks treatment.(p<0.01) 3. There was no specific side effect during the study period in all cases. In conclusion, SGD-F^(R) capsule may be safe and effective for chronic active hepatitis.

      • 노령에서 고관절 골절에 영향을 주는 수상전 요인

        목 적 : 노령에서 고관절골절의 여러 원인적 요인들과 상관관계를 분석, 그 연관성에 대해 알아 보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 2001년 1월부터 2002년 5월까지 대퇴 고관절 골절로 본원에서 치료받은 환자중 60세 이상이고 골밀도 검사를 시행받은 158례를 대상으로, 수상전 요인을 나이, 성별, 흡연여부, 비만정도, 골절종류, 수상장소, 다른 이환 질환, 골절전 활동도, 골밀도 검사, 수상당시 바닥의 경도, 수상당시 넘어진 방향, 수상에너지에 따라 대퇴 경부골절과 전자간 골절, 전자간 골절중 안정골절과 불안정 골절로 나눠 비교하였다. 결 과 : 80세 이상의 군에서 대퇴 전자간 골절이 대퇴 경부 골절에 비해 의미있게 많이 발생했음을 알 수 잇었으며(p<0.001) 환자의 수상전 활동정도의 비교에서도 활동정도가 낮았던 군에서 대퇴 전자간 골절이 의미있게 많이 발생하였다(p<0.001). 골밀도 검사에 따른 비교에서는 T-score -3.0 이하인 군에서 대퇴 전자간 골절이 많았으며(p<0.005), 수상에너지에 따른 비교에서는 적은 에너지에 의한 골절이 전자간 골절에서 많았다(p<0.05). 대퇴 전자간 골절은 안정 골절과 비안정 골절로 나눈 비교에서는 사회 활동이 어려운 ADL C이하의 군과(p<0.05), 골밀도 T-score -3.0 이하인군에서는 의미있는 차이를 보였다(p<0.001). 결 론 : 노령에서의 고관절 골절 중 80세 이상의 고령에서, 골밀도 T-score -3.0 이하인 경우, 일상생활 활동정도가 낮은 경우에, 비교적 적은 에너지에 의한 충격시에 대퇴 전자간 골절의 발생이 대퇴 경부 골절에 비해 의미있게 많았고 전자간 골절에서 불안정 골절은 사회활동이 적고 골밀도 T-score -3.0 이하인 경우 많음을 알수 있었다. Purpose : We studied the co-relation on the causes of the hip fracture through the analysis of a relevance on the etiological factors as increased incidence according increasing old age. Materials and Methods : Total 158 cases that treated on the hip fracture from 2001 Jan. to 2002 May were studied. The parameters were age, gender, smoking, obesity, type of fracture, place of fracture, other comorbidity, activity of daily living, bone marrow densitometry, hardness of floor, orientation, injury energy. And then, we analysis of difference between femur neck fracture and femur intretrochanter fracture and between stable femur intertrochanter fracture and unstable femur intertrochanter fracture. Results : The incidence of the femoral intertrochanteric fracture was larger significantly than that of the femoral neck fracture in the older then 80(p<0.001). On the comparison of the pre-fractural activity of daily living, the group revealed lower activity had larger incidence of femoral intertrochateric fracture(p<0.001). Also, the femoral intertrochanteric fracture was more larger osteoporosis patient group(p<0.005), and lower energy trauma(p<0.05). In a unstable femoral intertrochanteric fracture, 21 cases(77.7%) of total 27 cases were belong to the group of the activity of daily living scale below C(p<0.05), 24 cases pf 27 cases were belong to the osteoporosis patient who was estimated below -3.0 on T-score(p<0.001). Conclusion : In the hip fracture of the elderly patients, the femoral intertrochanteric fracture is more prevalance ratherthe femoral neck fracture on the cases of older patient more than 80 year-old, lower activity of daily living scale, lower T-score less than -3.0 on BMD, lower energy trauma. Also, in femur intertrochanter fracture, unstable fracture is more common in low daily activity and owteoporosis.

        Effect and mechanism of Magnolia officinalis pharmacopuncture for treating localized fat via network pharmacology and experimental study

        Background: Recently, for various reasons, the need for non-invasive treatment for localized fat has emerged. This study confirmed whether Magnolia officinalis (MO) pharmacopuncture reduces localized fat by promoting lipolysis and inhibiting adipogenesis. Methods: The network was built using genes related to the active compound of MO and the mode of action of MO was predicted by the functional enrichment analysis. Based on the result from network analysis, 100 µL of 2 mg/mL MO pharmacopuncture was injected into the inguinal fat pad for 6 weeks in obese C57BL/6J mice. Normal saline was injected into the right-side inguinal fat pad as a self-control. Results: It was expected that the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) signaling pathway would be affected by the MO Network. MO pharmacopuncture reduced the weight and size of inguinal fat in HFD-induced obese mice. The phosphorylation of AMPK along with the increases of lipases was significantly increased by MO injection. Also, the expression levels of fatty acid synthesize-related mediators were suppressed by MO injection. Conclusion: Our results demonstrated that MO pharmacopuncture promoted the expression of AMPK, which has beneficial effects on activation of lipolysis and inhibition of lipogenesis. Pharmacopuncture of MO can be a non-surgical alternative therapy in the treatment of local fat tissue.

      • Possible Role of Zinc in Parkinsonian. : Brain Modulatory effect Zinc on A-type potassium channels of substantia nigral neurons.

        Although the level of zinc in substantia nigra(SN) appears much higher in Parkinsonian brains than in normal brains, the direct effect of zinc on the excitability of SN neurons has not yet been elucidated. Therefore, the effect of Zn2+ on the electrical properties of SN neurons was here examined using current-and voltage-clamp methods of whole cell recording mode. Zn2+ induced dramatic hyperpolarizations from SN neurons at resting state, suggesting its role as an inhibitory element. However, Zn2+ also shortened the durations of spikes elicted by current injections(0.05 nA/200 ms), developed fast after-hyperpolarizations, and consequently increased firing frequencies of evoked spikes. Therefore, Zn2+ seems to have dual effects: Zn2+ not only makes an SN neuron silent to an external stimulation by hyperpolarizing its membrane potential, but also increases neuronal excitability by regulating voltage-gated ion channels. Voltage-clamp studies showed that Zn2+ decreased a transient potassium current(A-type) and increased a slowly inactivating potassium current. These results strongly suggest the modulation of voltage-gated potassium channels as a candidate responsible for the changes

      • Enhancement of Neural Death by Nerve Growth Factor

        Nerve growth factor (NGF) is literally known to promote neural differentiation and survival in several peripheral and central neurons. Thus, it is Widely believed that NGF may serve as a therapeutic agent for many types of neuronal diseases. One of the mechanisms suggested to explain the protective role of NGF is that the trophic factor can prevent the increase of intracellular calcium ions which might be responsible for neural death. To examine whether or not the calcium hypothesis works even under pathological conditions, we applied NGF to cultures deprived of glucose. Surprisingly, what was observed here is that NGF rather promoted cell death under a glucose-deprived condition. What we call the NGF paradox phenomenon occurred in a calcium concentration-dependent manner, indirectly suggesting that NGF might increase intracellular calcium ions in cells deprived of glucose. This suggestion is further supported by the fact that nifedipine, a well-known L-type calcium channel blocker, could block the cell death potentiated by NGF. Here it is still premature to propose the complete mechanism underlying the NGF paradox phenomenon. However, this study certainly indicates that NGF as a therapeutic agent for neuronal diseases should be carefully considered before use.
