The purpose of this study is to estimate wet deposition flux and to investigate wet deposition characteristics by using the ADOM model. Wet deposition flux of high reactive SO_2 is estimated by applying observed meteorological parameters and concentrations of chemical species to the ADOM model. Wet deposition is largely dependent on large scale precipitation and cloud thickness. Wet deposition flux of sulfate increases, but wet deposition flux of SO_2 is small. On the whole, the pattern of sulfate flux agrees with the typical pattern of sulfate wet deposition that is high in the summer(July) and low in the winter(January)

저장안정성이 개선된 천연장 소시지의 제조를 위한 감마선 조사

Quality properties in the sausage stuffed into the irradiated natural lamb and pork intestine for manufacturing the high quality emulsion-type meat produces were studied. The microbial changes of irradiated casings and the microbial growth of the sausages with gamma-irradiated natural casings were observed. Population of Total aerobia bacteria was decreased by gamma irradiation, dependent upon the irradiation dose. The number of microflora in lamb and pork casings was reduced by about 5.5 log cycle at 5kGy. Population of total aerobic bactelia of sausages stuffed in non-irradiated lamb and pork casing was about 3.6 log cfu/g after just manufacture and was about 7 log after 10 day storage. However, population of total aerobic bacteria of sausages with 3 key-irradiated and 5 kGy-irradiated casings was 2.48 and 0.32 log in lamb, and 2.78 and 0.60 log in pork respectively. The sausages vacuum-packaged and stored were shown no chance in the 2-thiobarbituric acid reactive substances value during storage. Irradiated sausage showed the higher TBARS value than that of nonirradiatd control at 5-day with pork casing and at 10day with lamb casing. Shear force of the sausages were decreased in both irradiated casings but the sensory evaluation showed no difference. Therefore, the gamma irradiation was a useful tool to sanitize the natural pork and lamb casings and extend the shelf-life of the high quality, value-added sausage made with those casings.

용매침윤 수지에 의한 중금속 회수에 관한 연구

The application of the solvent-impregnated resin(SIR), 5,7-dibromo-8-hydroxyquinoline(DBQ)-impregnated polyurethane foam, to the selective recovery of some heavy metal ions from aqueous solution was investigated. The adsorption behavior of DBQ on polyurethane foam was studied to determine the optimum conditions for preparing the SIR. It was found that SIR impregnated with DBQ had adsorption capacity about 5×10-2 mmol M(II) per gram foam. The conditions for recovery and readsorption of metal ions were determined.

정상과 만성염증성 활막배양세포에서 Corticotropin releasing hormone(CRH)이 cyclooxygenaase-1(COX-1)과 cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2) mRNA발현에 미치는 영향

Corticotropin-releasing hormone(CRH) is a major regulator of the hypothalamic-pituitaryadrenal axis(HPA). In inflammatory stress, the cytokines TNF-, IL-6 stimulate the production of CRH, a 41 amino acids neuropeptide, in the hypothalamus. The release of CRH leads to pituitary production of adrenocorticotropic hormone, followed by glucocorticoid secretion by the adrenal cortex. Glucocorticoids suppress namy components of the inflammatory process. Recently, CRH and CRH receptor were reported to be located in the periphery such as Immune system and chronic inflammatory sites as rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Cyclooxygenase consisted of two isoforms, COX-1 and COX-2, converts arachdonate to prostaglandins(PGs) which are important mediators of inflammation. insymoviocyte in RA, it was described that COX-2 mRNA was markedly increased by inflammatory agents, PMA or IL-1 and COX-1 transcripts were not modulated. We examined the modulation of COX by immune CRH in cultured normal and rheumatoid synoviocytes. Our results were shown that COX-1 mRNA expression decreased with the each stimulation of PMA and IL-1 in normal synoviocyte. In RA synoviocyte, PMA and IL-1 were increased mRNA expression of COX-1. In simultaneous treatment with CRH, PMA group was decreased, but IL-1 group was increased mRNA expression of COX-1. COX-2 mRNA expression was slightly increased by the treatment with PMA and highly increased by IL-1. After CRH treatment, PMA and IL-1 addictively increased COX-2 mRNA expression. We think that these results are contributed to the influence of increased cANP by CRH on the promoter of COX-2 in normal and synoviocytes. Because many cytokines, neuropeptides, and signal transduction pathways are involved in chronic inflammation, the exact role of CRH on inflammation is not fully elucidated. To achieve this goal, further experiments are needed.

구개부에 발생한 다형선종의 처치

Pleomorphic adenoma of the palate is the most common of all intraoral salivary tumors. It can occur at any age but it presents most commonly in the 40∼60 age group, and there is no significant sex preponderance. It grows slowly and is usually painless, firm, well-circumscribed nodule. Because of high rate of recurrence, extra-capsular excision including the overlying mucosa and margin of normal tissue is recommended. We report 10 cases of palatal pelomorphic adenoma which have been successfully treated by extra-capsular excision. The surgical defects smaller than 3㎝ in diameter were covered with palatal acrylic splint for the secondary healing. The larger defects were repaired using palatal island flap in 3 cases, rotation flap and buccal fat graft in each 1 case. No patient showed any recurrence or malignant change during the mean follow-up period of 4 years and 9 months. These repair methods seem to be simple, reliable and uncomplicated procedures in the palatal surgical defects.

For elucidation of various parameter's effect on the reactive extraction of organic acidstrioctylamine(TOA)-diluents system, the association model, equilibrium constants and extraction factors(loading) were investigated . The organic acids rosed were propionic. succinic, masonic, and benzoic acid. Extractant was tertiary amine, TOA and diluents were butylaeohol, hexane, and benzene. It was concluded that the loading of monobasic acid of propionic acid were higher than that of dibasic acids of oxalic, and malonic acid with extranctant TOA. In the extraction of monobasic acid the extraction factor was not affected by the initial concentration of extractant amine, but in the extraction of dibasic acids the extraction factor was getting better with decreasing the initial concentration of amine. There was a strong effect of diluents upon the extractien factor, and the order of these factor was as shown below: xylene<Benzene<butylalcohol<choloroform<methylisobutylketone.

식품 알러지 억제를 위한 감마선 조사기술의 적용

This study was carried out to evaluate the application of food irradiation technology as a method for reducing food allergy. Bovine α-casein and β-lactoglobulin, hen's egg albumin(ovalbumin), an egg white protein, and a heat stable protein of shrimp, tropomyosin were used as model allergens and was gamma-irradiated in an aqueous state. The changes in allergenic properties of these allergens resulted from gamma irradiation were monitored by Ci-ELISA with serum from each target food-hypersensitive patients. The results provide a new possibility to use irradiation process for reducing food allergy.

대학교 가정학 교양과목의 교과내용구성과 수업운영방식 : Focused on Child and Family, Clothing and Textiles, Food and Nutrition, and Housing 아동가족·의생활·식생활·주생활 영역을 중심으로

The purposes of this study were to: (1) analyze students' educational needs and attitude concerning various areas in Home Economics as a college-level liberal education curriculum, (2) provide data concerning future curricula and efficient teaching method. Four areas of Home Economics were investigated: child and family, clothing and textiles, food and nutrition, and housing. The subjects of this study were 478 students of Chungbuk National University, divided by experiences in enrollment of Home Economics and teaching methods (managed by 1-2 teachers vs. team teaching by 4 teachers). The data were collected by questionnaires developed by the researchers and analyzed by frequencies, t-test and x²-test The major findings were as follows: 1) Child and family education, especially the subjects of child-rearing and parents education, was most needed area by students, and this area also got highest score in attitude. 2) In the field of clothing and textiles, the subject of impression management with clothing was needed the most, and the importance of clothing got the highest score in attitude. Also, the students enrolled Home Economics showed more educational needs and practical attitude. 3) In the field of food and nutrition, food safety and sanitation were the most needed subject and safety of foods making got the highest score in attitude. The students enrolled Home Economic showed more educational needs on the subjects of food safety and sanitation, human nutrition and health maintenance and the culture of food and nutrition. 4) Educational need of the students was the lowest in housing area, though the subjects of knowledge on the space planning such as interior design, use of living space, and indoor environments-heat, light and air got most attention. Educational needs and attitudes of the students were affected by student's sex, major (human vs. scientific), and age. 5) Educational needs and attitudes of the students were affected by sociodemographic variables, such as grade, sex, major (human vs. scientific), and age. And teaching method was also found to be an influential factor.
