植生 및 環境이 相異한 光陽演習林內 森林土壤을 대상으로 植生 및 날개응애를 調査分析하여 다음과 같은 結果를 얻었다. 調査 期間 中 53科 115速 152種의 植物이 分類되었으며 闊葉樹林비해 針葉樹林에서 더多樣한 分布를 보였다. 날개응애와 植生과의 關係를 比較한 結果 種多樣度指數에 있어서는 두 集團間에 統計的 有意性이 인정되지 않았으며, 種類似度에 있어서는, 植生의 경우 地理的으로 隣接한 群落間에 類似度가 높게 나타난 반면, 날개응애의 경우에는 地理的 隣接性 보다는 植生에 따라 類似群을 形成하므로서 土壤動物은 植餌選好度에 따라 niche를 달래하는 것으로 解析되었다. This study was carried out to investigate the relationship between soil mites (Acarina: Cryptostigmata) and vegetation in sampled area. From July 1984 to Jund 1985, samples were taken monthly from coniferous forests; a pinenut (Pinus koraicnsis S. et Z.) forest (site C-1), a white-pine (Pimus strobus L.) forest (site C-2), a needle fir tree (Abies holophyla Max.) forest (site C-3),and three broad-leaved forests; site B-l, B-2, and B-3 in Cho ̄lanamdo province, southern part of Korea. Vascular plants of 152 species belonging to 115 genera (53 families) were identified. The flora in the coniferous forests were more diverse than in the broad-leaved forest. Similarity coefficient of the flora was shown highly between the neighbouring sites. The oribatid species in the coniferous forests were more diverse than those in the broad-leaved forests. The similarity index suggested that oribatid mites in those surveying sites could be divided into "coniferous forest type" and "broad-leaved forest type".

The pandemic influenza (H1N1 2009) virus, after being introduced in Korea in April, 2009, spread rapidly nationwide in mid-2009. This study was conducted to characterize trend in age distribution of visitors to Flu-clinics during the pandemic. Demographic, clinical and laboratory data of visitors to flu clinic from Week 36 to 52 (August 30 to December 26) of 2009 were retrieved and collected from electronic databases at 9 hospitals. Visitors 0-6, 7-12, 13-18, 19-29, 30-64, and 65 years or more of age were classified into group I to VI, respectively. A total of 107,467 visitors were seen at Flu-clinics for a 17-week study period. Of those, 32,485 were laboratory-confirmed. Antivirals were prescribed for 62,533 visitors. Numbers of visits, prescriptions of antivirals, and laboratory-confirmed cases of the pandemic influenza (H1N1 2009) peaked at Week 44. A large number of visits by group II and III were followed by those of group I and V, especially around the peak. Numbers of visits by group VI were lowest in all hospitals. In some hospitals, higher number of visits lasted longer in children than in adults while vice versa in other hospitals depending on the location. In summary, the pandemic influenza (H1N1 2009) was presumed to peak in late October and involved majorly children and students in Korea. Unique age distribution of visitors to flu clinic was observed in some hospitals.

The cytokines are the hormone-like proteins, which are produced in the mononuclear cells. They have many roles, such as immune mediators, cell differentiations, angiogenesis. The chemokines have chemotactic effects which control the host immune response. There were few reports about the cytokines associated with musculoskeletal tumors. From late 1980s, the cytokine studies of bone tumors such as osteosarcoma were started, but most studies for benign and malignant musculoskeletal tumors were left to be explored. To evaluate the characteristics of the cytokines in variable musculoskeletal tumors, tissues were obtained from the seven patients who visited the Yeungnam University hospital from February to July 2000. They were lipoma (1 case), parosteal osteoma (1 case), enchondroma (2 cases), pigmented villonodular synovitis (1 case), ganglion (1 case), and metastaic squamous cell carcinoma (1 case). The gene experession of the cytokines were analyzed by RNase protection assay (RPA) and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The lipoma and parosteal osteoma expressed MIP-1β, and IP-10 genes. The two enchondromas showed different results, one expressed all of MIP-1α, MT-1β and IP-10 genes but the other expressed none of above. The pigmented villonodular synovitis strongly expressed MIP-1α and IP-10 when compared with the other cases. The ganglion did not express all of the chemokines mentioned above. And the metastatic squamous cell carcinoma expressed all of the chemokines and especially IP-10 was highly expressed. Even though this study has only a few cases, these results provide a basis for the cytokine mediating network study in musculoskeletal tumors.

<P>Interfacial microstructure and elemental diffusion of Cu-doped indium oxide (CIO)/indium tin oxide (ITO) ohmic contacts to p-type GaN for light-emitting diodes (LEDs) were investigated using cross-sectional transmission electron microscopy (XTEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and X-ray diffraction. The CIO/ITO contacts gave specific contact resistances of approximately 10(-4) omegacm2 and transmittance greater than 95% at a wavelength of 405 nm when annealed at 630 degrees C for 1 min in air. After annealing at 630 degrees C, multi-component oxides composed of Ga2O3-In2O3, Ga2O3-CuO, and In2O3-CuO formed at the interface between p-GaN and ITO. Formation of multi-component oxides reduced the barrier height between p-GaN and ITO due to their higher work functions than that of ITO, and caused Ga in the GaN to diffuse into the CIO/ITO layer, followed by generation of acceptor-like Ga vacancies near the GaN surface, which lowered contact resistivity of the CIO/ITO contacts to p-GaN after the annealing.</P>
The Impact of Number of Interfaces on Corrosion Behavior of TiCrN Films

<P>The corrosion resistance of SKD61 steel coated with different multi-layered titanium chromium nitride (TiCrN) coatings by sputtering has been studied. This study focuses on the influence of the number of interfaces on the corrosion behavior of TiCrN films. For this purpose, five different TiCrN coatings, which have the same total thickness, were formed by different numbers of TiCrN layers produced by sequential repetitions of the single-layer process. With increasing the number of TiCrN layers, the originally porous and rough surface morphology of the TiCrN films was transferred into a smooth structure. The results showed that the corrosion resistance of the coatings increased with increasing number of layer up to 3. The corrosion resistance improvement can be attributed to a decrease in the surface roughness as well as the microstructure change.</P>
