<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) has an anti-inflammatory action in acute pancreatitis (AP). However, its mechanism of action and natural compounds/drugs to induce HO-1 in pancreas are not well understood. In this study, we investigated the regulatory mechanisms of HO-1 during AP using desoxo-narchinol-A (DN), the natural compound inducing HO-1 in the pancreas. Female C57/BL6 Mice were intraperitoneally injected with supramaximal concentrations of cerulein (50 μg/kg) hourly for 6 h to induce AP. DMSO or DN was administered intraperitoneally, then mice were sacrificed 6 h after the final cerulein injection. Administration of DN increased pancreatic HO-1 expression through activation of activating protein-1, mediated by mitogen-activated protein kinases. Furthermore, DN treatment reduced the pancreatic weight-to-body weight ratio as well as production of digestive enzymes and pro-inflammatory cytokines. Inhibition of HO-1 by tin protoporphyrin IX abolished the protective effects of DN on pancreatic damage. Additionally, DN treatment inhibited neutrophil infiltration into the pancreas via regulation of chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 2 (CXCL2) by HO-1. 도시공원 범죄예방을 위한 CPTED 인증평가기준 정립에 관한 연구

도시지역에서의 공원이란 시민들의 건강과 휴양 그리고 정서생활에 도움을 주고 녹지를 확보하여 환경에 도움을 주는 공간이다. 하지만 누구에게나 개방되어 있는 도시 공원의 특성상 공간의 안전을 위협하는 소수의 위협들은 다수의 이용자인 시민들에게 불편함을 주거나 위협을 초래하는 경우가 발생한다. 이와 관련하여 각종 선행 연구들은 공원에서 범죄가 빈번하게 발생하고, 시민들의 휴식공간이라는 공원의 제 기능을 다 하지 못하고 있다는 문제를 지적하고 있다. 특히 최근 많은 관심을 받고 있는 사회적 약자를 대상으로 한 범죄에 대응하기 위한 도시공원의 설계 관리가 중요함을 일관되게 강조하고 있다. 이에 이 연구에서는 CPTED의 기본이론을 토대로 도시공원의 범죄예방과 관련된 선행 연구를 분석하여 도시공원에 적합한 CPTED 요소를 추출하고 도시공원의 방범환경 인증평가 체크리스트를 개발하였다. 이러한 체크리스트를 바탕으로 크기별, 종류별 공원 5곳을 선정하여 실제 현장 조사를 실시하고 안전요소를 분석하여 최종 체크리스트를 도출하였다. 이 체크리스트의 최종평가분야는 관리운영, 감시, 접근통제, 영역성, 활동성 지원 CPTED요소를 기반으로 하고 이에 더하여 안내표지, 방범 및 안전시설, 가점항목으로 설정하였으며 각각의 세부평가항목으로 구성하였다. 이 연구에서 개발한 체크리스트의 평가기준은 모든 공원에 대한 범죄예방 인증평가를 수행할 수 있도록 하는 범용 체크리스트로 이러한 평가기준은 다양한 규모와 형태를 가진 공원들의 특성을 고려하여 평가와 인정의 기본원칙에 의거하여 다양한 형태로 변형되어 활용할 수 있도록 하였다. 이와 관련하여 범죄위험을 예방하는데 있어 중요한 분야의 핵심 항목들에 대해서는 높게 배점하고 정성적인 평가에 의해 배점을 차등적으로 주도록 하였다. 또한 신규 공원뿐만 아니라 기존에 있던 공원들도 적극적 개선을 통해 인정을 받게 하고자 하는 취지로 만들어 전체적인 공원 안전개선을 위한 기반이 되도록 하였다. 본 체크리스트는 경찰청이 범죄예방진단팀(CPO)을 통해 시행 중인 도시공원의 범죄예방우수시설 인증사업에 활용하고 있다. Urban public parks are supposed to be the places for citizens’ rest, healing and public health. However, as public parks are usually open for 24 hours almost every day they are often exposed to criminal attacks within the realm of the space. The crime problem therefore threatens the public safety and security. Previous studies on public parks and crime safety continuously indicate that urban parks are vulnerable to crime and disorder and became the cause of fear of crime due to poor environmental design and planning in terms of CPTED. In this context the researchers have developed a checklist for accreditation/certification of urban public parks for crime prevention by analyzing the examples applying the CPTED principles in public parks and reflecting the field survey results in South Korea. In regard to the item and point, the crucial points for public parks rated highly and the grading was differentiated by qualitative evaluation. In addition, basic principles for certification of Secure/Safe Public Parks Awards were suggested, including operating a rating system to certify public parks so as to promote efforts for improvement, not awarding the certification to parks if any relevant regulations are violated, applying the evaluation items or points in accordance with the local context. The assessment checklist can be revised and used in various ways according to the regional circumstances and can contribute to the security and safety of public parks. The Police Crime Prevention Officers (CPO) are to utilize this checklist for the Secure Public Parks Certification Awards program in order to enhance the level of security for public parks in major cities in South Korea.
태안해안국립공원 지역특화자원을 활용한 탐방프로그램 개발 연구

For this study, we first examined the currently operating programs of domestic and overseas maritime and costal national parks. It was found that some of the programs require systematic preparations such as mid- and long-term operation plans, infrastructure expansion, and maintenance of professionalism rather than immediately introducing them into national parks due to the differences in climatic and geographic factors, ecological environment, and relevant regulations. To develop more suitable programs, on-site visits were made and the customized programs were suggested by closely examining the status quo and interviewing people in charge of running the currently offered programs. For Taean Coastal National Park, eight programs were recommended as feasible ones, including the experiential programs such as Bird Ringing, Taean Beach Trail - Sol Sand Trail Walking, Travel Taean Beach with Drone, Thinking Chair, Kite Flying, and Culture & Arts Program (Birds, Arts, and …), and the educational programs such as Marine Safety Training and Oil Pollution Awareness Program. For the suggested programs to be realized, the expansion of separate places and operating facilities for each program, budgeting, and feasibility study should be preceded. To operate the programs effectively and efficiently, in particular, it is necessary to develop the competency of program leaders, and additional discussion for supplement the currently operated programs and implement new programs.

<P>Bucillamine is used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. This study investigated the protective effects of bucillamine against cisplatin-induced damage in auditory cells, the organ of Corti from postnatal rats (P2) and adult Balb/C mice. Cisplatin increases the catalytic activity of caspase-3 and caspase-8 proteases and the production of free radicals, which were significantly suppressed by pretreatment with bucillamine. Bucillamine induces the intranuclear translocation of Nrf2 and thereby increases the expression of γ-glutamylcysteine synthetase (γ-GCS) and glutathione synthetase (GSS), which further induces intracellular antioxidant glutathione (GSH), heme oxygenase 1 (HO-1) and superoxide dismutase 2 (SOD2). However, knockdown studies of HO-1 and SOD2 suggest that the protective effect of bucillamine against cisplatin is independent of the enzymatic activity of HO-1 and SOD. Furthermore, pretreatment with bucillamine protects sensory hair cells on organ of Corti explants from cisplatin-induced cytotoxicity concomitantly with inhibition of caspase-3 activation. The auditory-brainstem-evoked response of cisplatin-injected mice shows marked increases in hearing threshold shifts, which was markedly suppressed by pretreatment with bucillamine <I>in vivo</I>. Taken together, bucillamine protects sensory hair cells from cisplatin through a scavenging effect on itself, as well as the induction of intracellular GSH.</P>

In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.

Efficiency of bus arbitration scheme is modeled to analyze and compare five known arbitration protocols for single-bus multiprocessor system. The analytical model describes average access time as a measure of efficiency and takes resubmitted requests into account, amending contradiction of previous assumption that bus requests in each cycle are independent of those of previous cycles. The analytical results obtained from our model show that the efficiency of the equal priority protocol is as good as that of the rotating priority protocol.

This study was conducted to investigate the rain acidity(pH) and air qualities in the Taegu area. The datum of rain acidity(pH) and air qualities were collected from in the Taegu office of the Korea Environmental Agency. In Taegu area, the concentrations of sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide and total suspended particulates were obviously decreased in recent years. These phenomenons were corresponded with the increasement of clean fuel such as. LNG and LPG. But the concentrations of nitrogen dioxide and ozone were increased by the photochemical reaction and exceeded mobiles. The rain acidity(pH) in the Taegu was not serious problem, and the relationship between the concentrations of air pollutants, such as sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide and rain acidity(pH) have no relation. It was considered that suspended particulates and cation, such as K^+, Na^+, Ca^(2+), Mg^(2+) and NH₄^+ were reacted as neutralizers in acid rain.
점농어(Lateorabrax sp.)의 종묘생산에 관한연구 1. 稚魚期에 있어서 成長과 生存에 미치는 염분의 영향

점농어 稚魚(孵化後 150일째)의 염분 농도별 실험구(A : 30‰, B : 20‰, C : 10‰, D : 0‰)에서의 성장율과 생존율은 다음과 같다. 부화 150일루 稚魚들을 각각의 염분 농도에 수용하였을 때 수용 수 50일째까지는 고염분에서 성장이 다소 빨랐으나, 수용 후 60일째 부터는 담수와 저염분의 실험구에서 성장이 매우 양호하였다. 각 염분별 사육일수 (X)에 따른 전장(Y)과의 회귀직선식은 다음과 같다. 30‰ 실험구 : Y = 20.26X + 57.20 (r=0.9799), 20‰ 실험구 : Y = 19.74X + 57.82 (r=0.9825), 10‰ 실험구 : Y = 20.80X + 56.34 (r=0.9823), 담수(0‰) 실험구 : Y = 21.43X + 54.71 (r=0.9845). 염분 농도를 달리하여 사육하였을 때 生存率은 수용 초기에는 담수 실험구에서 生存率이 떨어졌으나, 수용 후 50일째부터는 오히려 담수 실험구에서 生存率이 높았으며, 수용 후 90일째부터는 生存率이 86.0∼91.0%로 실험구별로 큰 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 각 실험구간의 기울기에 유의성 검정결과 담수(0‰) 실험구와 10‰, 20‰실험구 및 30‰실험구 사이에는 유의한 차이가 있었다. This study was conducted to compare the growth and survival rates of spotted sea bass, Lateorabrax sp., juveniles in different salinities (0‰, 10‰, 20‰, 30‰). The growth rate of sea bass juveniles were not observed significant difference in all test group until 50 days after rearing. After that, However rate of sea bass juveniles in low salinity was higher than the high salinity. The relationship between the days of rearing (X) and the total length (Y) of the fingerlings were as follows : 30‰ treatment group : Y = 20.26X + 57.20 (r=0.9799), 20‰ treatment group : Y = 19.74X + 57.82 (r=0.9825), 10‰ treatment group : Y = 20.80X + 56.34 (r=0.9823), 0‰ treatment group : Y = 21.43X + 54.71 (r=0.9845). The slopes of regression line estimated from 0‰, 10‰ and 20‰groups were significantly different from that of 30‰ group. Survival rate of sea bass juveniles was fall down slightly at low salinitly () until 50 days after rearing. But significant difference of survival rate was observed in all test group from 90 day after rearing to the end of experimental period.
未成熟 흰쥐子宮의 Estrogen 受容體의 細胞內 分布 및 Progesterone 受容體에 對한 Tamoxifen의 作用

Estrogen의 작용은 세포내의 특이수용체와의 결합을 통해 특정유전자의 발현을 유도함으로써 이뤄진다는 정도로 밝혀져 있을 뿐 그 자세한 기전에 대해서는 잘 이해가 되지 않고 있어 estrogen 및 항estrogen의 표적조직내 존재여하에 따른 estrogen수용체의 세포내 분포에 대해서 알아보고자 하였다. 미성숙 흰쥐에 100㎍의 tamoxifen을 일회 투여하고 2, 6, 12, 24, 48, 72시간이 지난 후에 자궁에서 나타나는 변화를 살폈다. 자궁무게와 자궁내 DNA함량, 그리고 progesterone수용체의 함량은 tamoxifen투여후 시간이 지남에 따라 모두 증가되었다. Tamoxifen을 투여하지 않은 대조군에서의 estrogen수용체 핵과 세포질에 각각 50%씩 분포하였고 tamoxifen투여후에는 세포질내수용체가 점차 감소하고 핵내수용체는 증가되는 경향을 보였다. 또한 대조군에서는 거의 모든 수용체가 유리형으로 존재하였던데 반해 tamoxifen의 투여로 결합형 수용체의 증가와 함께 유리형의 감소가 초래되었다. 이상의 결과로써 미성숙 흰쥐 자궁세포내에는 핵과 세포질 모두에 유리형 수용체가 존재하며, tamoxifen은 이들 양 분획의 수용체에 모두 결합하고 세포질내에서 핵내로 수용체의 전이를 유발하며 동시에 새로운 수용체의 합성도 유도하는 것으로 사료된다. Although it is widely accepted that specific intracellular receptor proteins are involved in the estrogenic regulation of gene expression and growth in reproductive tissues, the precise nature of the regulation is poorly understood. Among the unresolved issues are the distribution and dynamics of the estrogen receptor protein in target tissues in the presence and absence of estrogens and antiestrogens. In this study, the effect of antiestrogen, tamoxifen, on subcellular distribution of estrogen receptor in immature rat uterus was determined. A single dose of tamoxifen(100㎍/rat) increased uterine wet weight, DNA content, and cytoplasmic progesterone receptor content 2, 6, 12, 24, 48, 72 hours after injection. Total estrogen receptor content progressively increased, peaked 48hr post-injection, while cytoplasmic receptor content decreased. In control uteri, nuclear estrogen receptors were almost unoccupied, but occupied receptors increased afrter tamoxifen treatment. The amount of unoccupied cytoplasmic receptors rapidly decreased 2hr postinjection and then gradually restored to that of control which was 74% of cytoplasmic receptors. These results suggest that in immature rat uterus both cytoplasm and nucleus contain unoccupied, free estrogen receptors and also suggest that tamoxifen can bind both cytoplasmic and nuclear 'estrogen receptros, increase total estrogen receptor content, and elicit some estrogenic effect.
