In this study, we derived an equation of motion for an electromechanical system in view of the components and working mechanism of an electromagnetic-type energy harvester (ETEH). An electromechanical transduction factor (ETF) was calculated using a finite-element analysis (FEA) based on Maxwell’s theory. The experimental ETF of the ETEH measured by means of sine wave excitation was compared with and FEA data. Design parameters for the stationary part of the energy harvester were optimized in terms of the power performance by using a response surface method (RSM). With optimized design parameters, the ETEH showed an improvement in performance. We experimented with the optimized ETEH (OETEH) with respect to changes in the external excitation frequency and the load resistance by taking human body vibration in to account. The OETEH achieved a performance improvement of about 30% compared to the initial model.

This study is stated that the initial contact pressure by the bolt tightening force is important for the prevention of the leakage in the sealant connection. The maintenance of the initial contact pressure will be able to prevent the leakage of between the front retainer and T/M case for using the sealant and this paper is mentioned the leakage case and discuss the improved case using the parameter study for the contact pressure. The most important factor to maintain the initial contact pressure is the distance between bolts and the second order is the width of face between the bolted distance and next order is the tighten torque. The method to examine the leakage on the driven condition was introduced in this study. The method is the distance between contact parts.

In order to achieve a robust design of CVJ (constant velocity joint), it is the most important thing to increase the fracture torque of the quasi-static torsional fracture test. The fracture torque is decided by the cage of the BJ(ball joint) composition and most broken position is the column of cage. For this reason, Offset angle method has been developed to improve the strength of the cage in this study. The thickness of the cage can be increased than an existing size by using the offset angle method. The fact means that the cage has an advantage for the strength. The analysis simulation on verification for the parameter of offset angle is composed of the strength part and the dynamic part in this study. As a result for the analysis simulation, the strength of the cage has improved 10% compare to the existing offset method. and, the quasi-static torsional fracture test has been carried with CVJ applied to the offset angle parameter. In this test, we identified that the fracture torque has been increased by 10% from existing products.

This paper presents an electromagnetic kinetic energy harvester which is suitable for supplying power for body-worn sensors and personal electric devices. Human motions are investigated by measuring the acceleration signal at each points of the body during walking and running. The dynamic characteristics of the harvester can be calculated from the transfer function of the system. The transduction factor can be calculated from the electromagnetic field analysis by Maxwell software. The prototype of the harvester is designed and manufactured. The theoretical power characteristics are compared with the experiment results.

<P>We prepared a water-soluble conjugated polymer composed of electron-donating units and electron-accepting groups in the backbone. The polymer exhibits a short wavelength (blue) emission in aqueous solution and long wavelength (red) emission in the solid state, because of intermolecular energy transfer. Considering this, we develop a new approach for the sensitive detection of trypsin, which is known to control pancreatic exocrine function, using an ensemble system composed of the anionically charged conjugated polymer and cationically charged polypeptides (such as polylysine and polyarginine). The blue-emitting, water-soluble conjugated polymer becomes aggregated upon exposure to the polypeptides, leading to a red-emitting assay ensemble. The red-emitting assay ensemble becomes dissociated in the conjugated polymer and polypeptide fragments by selective degradation of trypsin, which then exhibits recovery of blue emission. This emission-tuning assay ensemble allows for detection of trypsin at nanomolar concentrations, which enables naked-eye detection. Importantly, this strategy can be employed for label-free, continuous assay for trypsin.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/aamick/2014/aamick.2014.6.issue-2/am405120y/production/images/medium/am-2013-05120y_0008.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/am405120y'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>
