        Modified Microstructure Selection Map and Growth Conditions of the Band Structure in Directionally Solidified Hypo-Peritectic Alloys

        Considering the variation of the solid/liquid interface morphology with a growth condition, microstructure selection map inperitectic system was modified by comparing growing α (primary phase) interface tip temperature and β (peritectic phase)nucleation temperature. The results were proved experimentally in hypo-peritectic Sn–Cd alloys by delicate directionalsolidification experiment under the diffusive growth condition using capillary thin tube. When β-phase took over α-phaseand grew a short distance as the leading phase, the instability of β-phase was first observed experimentally. This phenomenawas explained by constitutional undercooling, which was present temporarily in liquid ahead of the β/l interface.

        Effects of Test Temperature on Low Cycle Fatigue Behaviors in Large Mold Steel

        A mold steel for plastic injection was subjected to low cycle fatigue (LCF) tests at temperatures of 25, 200, and 250 °C. LCFtests were carried out at a total strain amplitude (Δεt/2) from 0.004 to 0.012 under a constant strain rate of 0.01 s–1. Transmissionelectron microscope images showed that cyclic loading accelerated dislocation recovery as the LCF test temperatureincreased. The LCF life increased as a result of improvement in the ductility associated with dislocation recovery as the testtemperature increased. The LCF behavior at the test temperature range followed the Coffin–Manson equation. Empiricalequation was proposed to predict the LCF life of the mold steel within the test temperature range.

        Nrf2-Heme oxygenase-1 modulates autophagy and inhibits apoptosis triggered by elevated glucose levels in renal tubule cells

        Background: Autophagy is a highly balanced process in which lysosomes remove aged and damaged organelles and cellular proteins. Autophagy is essential to maintain homeostasis in the kidneys. Methods: Using human renal tubule cells HK-2, we assessed the impact of high glucose (HG) on autophagy. We also evaluated the capability of sulforaphane (SFN) to protect the HK-2 cells from HG-induced apoptosis by modulating autophagy. Results: SFN modulated autophagy and decreased apoptosis in the HK-2 cells that were cultured in 250 mM glucose medium for two days. The reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels increased, as expected, in the cells cultured in the 250 mM glucose medium. However, the SFN decreased the ROS levels in the HK-2 cells. The overexpression of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) by SFN decreased the expression of LC3 and beclin-1. LC3 and beclin-1 were involved in the downregulation of caspase-3 that was observed in the HG-induced cells. Conclusion: The activation of nuclear factor E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2)-HO-1 inhibited ROS expression and subsequently attenuated autophagy and cell apoptosis after HG injury was decreased. HG injury led to the activation of autophagy and HO-1 in order to combat oxidative stress and protect against cell apoptosis. Therefore, HO-1 activation can prevent ROS development and oxidative stress during HG injury, which considerably decreases autophagy and apoptosis.

        This study investigates the performance of the reinforced concrete frame with the steel plate slit damper. The test was carried out to investigate the structural behavior between the reinforced concrete bare frame and the reinforced concrete frame with the steel plate slit damper. The test results showed that the energy absorption capacity of the damped-frame was several times larger than that of the bare frame. For the damage by the input energy is concentrated on the steel plate slit damper, the ductilities of the former structure were increased and the damaged frame can be reused after exchange the steel plate slit damper.

        스키소비자 인구통계학적 특성에 따른 스키리조트 선택속성과 구매형태

        본 연구는 스키리조트 소비자 인구통계학적 특성에 따른 스키리조트 선택속성과 구매형태에 대하여 알아보기 위하여 유층적집락무선표집법을 이용하여 3개 스키리조트를 선정하여 스키관광객514명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 스키리조트 선택속성에 관한 설문지는 McCarty의 분류인 product, place, price, promotion의 마케팅 믹스를 기준으로 신우성(2000) 등 선행연구 논문을 참고하여 본 연구의 목적에 적합하도록 설문지 초안이 작성되었으며, 작성된 설문지 초안은 전문가의 자문과 예비검사를 통하여 설문내용의 신뢰도를 검증한 후 본 연구의 설문지로 사용하였다. 본 설문지의 신뢰도계수가 α= .612∼.862 사이에 위치함으로써 조사도구의 신뢰도가 비교적 양호한 것으로 나타났다. 자료분석을 위하여 본 연구에서 사용한 통계기법은 빈도분석, 요인분석, 교차분석, 일원변량분석(scheffe' 사후검증) 등이다. 이와 같은 연구방법 및 절차를 통하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 스키리조트의 주고객은 대학생 위주의 20-30세대인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 스키리조트 선택속성에 대하여 요인분석을 실시한 결과 프로모션, 장소(접근의 용이성), 가격, 시설요인 등 4개 하위요인이 도출되었다. 셋째, 스키리조트 소비자 구매형태는 다량구매, 중간구매, 그리고 소량구매형태 순으로 나타나고 있으며, 구매형태와 성별, 수입별, 직업별, 그리고 연령별간에는 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이고 있다. 넷째, 스키리조트 소비자 인구통계학적 특성에 따른 주어진 스키리조트 선택속성(프로모션, 장소, 가격, 시설요인)에 대한 인식정도에 있어서 성별, 연령별, 직업별, 그리고 수입별간에 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이고 있다. 이상을 종합해보면 전체적으로 스키리조트 소비자 인구통계학적 특성에 따른 주어진 선택속성 요인과 구매형태간에는 유의한 차이가 나타났으며, 구매형태는 다량 및 중간구매형태를 보이고 있다. 따라서 스키시장의 저변확대를 통한 스키시장의 발전을 꾀하기 위해서는 스키리조트 소비자 인구통계학적 특성에 따른 다양한 프로그램 및 서비스 품질의 개발, 적절한 요금체계, 최적의 시설유지 및 보완 등이 경영자 중심이 아닌 소비자중심의 차원에서 이루어질 수 있도록 새로운 마케팅 전략이 강구되어야 할 것으로 보여진다. The purpose of this study was to examine the selection attributes of the ski resort and purchase types according to different consumers' demographic characteristics. To accom plish The purpose of this study, 514 visitors from three randomly selected ski resorts were surveyed by means of the revised questionnaires. The content validity and reliability of the questionnaires was determined by conducting a pilot study. The reliability coefficients for the questionnaire were found to be α=.612∼.862. The questionnaire utilized a five-point Likert-type scale was employed. The statistical methods for the data analysis were frequency analysis, factor analysis. Chi-Square, t-test, and one-way ANOVA. All tests of significance were set at an alpha level of .05. The main results of this study were as follows: First, as a result of factors analysis on the selection attributes of ski resorts, four factors of promotion. place(easy access). price and facilities were derived. Second, the purchase types of ski resort consumers were shown as heavy users, medium users. and light users by order, and the correlations among sex, family income, job, and age were statistically significant. Fourth, for the recognition degree on the given selection attributes(promotion. place, price and facility) of ski resorts according to the different demographic characteristics of ski resort consumers, the correlations among sex, family income, job, and age were statistically significant.

      • 중부지역 옥수수 파종기에 따른 생육단계 및 수량성 변화

        Maize hybrids were planted on April 1, April 25, May 20 and June 15 in 2012, 2013 at the experimental paddy and upland fields in Suwon city , respectively to know changes of growth stage and yield according to different planting time. Maize planting on April 1 was not recommended because total growing days at planting on April 1 was not different with that at planting on April 25 due to many days from planting to emergence over 20 days at planting on April 1. Total growing days were not much different among three planting time after April 25 because days from silking to maturity was lengthened though days from planting to silking was shortened at later planting time. Stalk weight was decreased as planting time was delayed, particularly at planting times after May 20 at paddy field by excess water injury during early growth stage. But, grain yield was not low as in May and June. It is needed to introduce early maturity maize variety as Yanganok at late planting for higher grain yield and enough time for soil preparation for next winter crops

        In convulsion state by PTZ in rat, anticonvulsive effect and some γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-related mechanisms of Bythus extract in brain was experimented. It was ingibited GABA-T activity, lipid peroxide generation and xanthine oxidase activity as scheduled administration in vitro and vivo. And the content of brain gutathione was increased as scheduled administration in rat. In convulsion state by PTZ of previously managed rat by Buthus extract, onset eime and duration were non-specific changes but recovery time and severity was remarkably reduced. In conclusion speculated that Buthus extract inhibits convulsion by control of GABA content in brain.

      • 鷄龍山 森林土壤의 特性에 關하여

        In order to determine the characteristics of soil in Mt. Gyeryong, the content of primary minerals and chemical and physical properties of forest soil were analyzed. The parent rock of forest soil were consisted of pink feldspar granite and gneissose granite. The weathered parent rock contained about 64% of plagioclase and quartz. The content of available phosphorus of soil resulted from weathering process of pink feldspar granite was higher than that of the gneissose granite soil. But the contents of K and of the latter were higher than those of the former. Both types of soil texture were mainly loam and clay loam The differences of chemical soil properties between Pinetum consociation and Quercetum consociation were as follows:the contents of the organic matter, total exchangeable bases, NO^-_3-N and NH^+_4-N of Quercetum consociation were higher than as compared to those Pinetum consociation in the pink feldspar granite region, the contents of total nitrogen, available phosphorus, total exchangeable bases, Mg^++ and NO^-_3-N of Quercetum consociation were higher than as compared to those of Pinetum consociation in the gneissose granite region.

        Theoretical analysis and experiment for supersonic flow around the wedges have been conducted. Wedges are being used as a means of measuring a flow direction, Mach No., a basic study of inlet or combustion chamber of ramjet and scramjet engine. We use a shock tunnel to get a supersonic flow conditions and schlieren system to visualize supersonic flow field around wedge. Numerical simulation is also conducted by Harten-Yee type 2nd-order Total Variable Diminishing(TVD) scheme and oblique shock theory. Comparison of calculated results with experimental data is in good agreement.
