A 7-month old. castrated male Shih-tzu dog was referred to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University with history of depression. dyspnea. mild scale. tachypnea. exercise intolerance and severe leanness. On physical examination. cardiac arrhythmias was heard and heart worm ELISA test was positive. Microfilaria was found on the direct blood smear. Survey radiographs showed loss of diaphragmatic line and cardiac silhouette. displacement of lung fields and presence of gas filled intestines in the thoracic cavity. Rib fracture and pelvic fracture with callus formation were found incidentally. On the basis of physical examination and radiographic findings. it was diagnosed as traumatic diaphragmatic hernia and heart worm disease. Herniorrhaphy was performed. Postoperatively. it was treated for heart worm disease and scale. There is no evidence of recurrence of diaphragmatic hernia and heart worm disease over 1 year.

The purpose of this paper was to determine the normal values for serum iron concentration and iron-binding capacity in healthy Koreans, and also to observe the physiologic variation in serum iron concentration during a day time. A morning, non-festing blood specimen was collected from 146 males and 66 females. By the mothod of modified Barkan-Walker's, the mean serum iron was 127±31 in the males and 106±26㎍/100㎖ serum in the females. The total iron-binding capacity was 347±38 in the males, 326±21 ㎍/100㎖ serum in the females by using a modified Ramsay's method. These results was no significant difference between the that of some other investigators. The physiologic variation in serum iron concentration which were observed on 5 subjects from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. showed a range of 9 to 62 ㎍/100㎖ serum, but no certain tendency in the variations.

The importance of energy is growing according to the energy shortage and environmental concerns. Accordingly, in order to solve the problems about the use of fossil fuel, a renewable energy sources are needed. Global renewable energy power industrys position in the renewable energy market becomes important and new technology development is also essential. MG set composed by the induction motor and permanent magnet synchronous generator for simulating a renewable energy source is based on a suitable experiment equipment. The torque generated by applying a voltage to the induction motor in MG set is used as an input of the permanent magnet synchronous generator. In Psim simulation, the characteristics of the induction motor model was formulated and the output torque characteristics of the motor was controlled using the induction motor side inverter, In this paper, the comparison analysis between Psim simulation and the output characteristics of the MG set is performed in order to identify a renewable energy power system more accurately.
체육교사와 스포츠강사의 업무시간과 효능감에 따른 직무탈진 경험

본 연구는 체육교사와 스포츠강사의 업무시간과 효능감이 직무탈진에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 규명하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 총 129부가 회수되었다. 체육교사 74명, 스포츠 강사 55명의 자료가 분석에 이용되었다. 기술통계분석, One-way MANOVA와, 중다회귀분석을 통해 가설을 검증하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 자기효능감은 체육교사집단이 더 높은 평균값을 나타내었고, 성취저하는 스포츠강사집단이 더 높은 평균값을 나타내 가설 1과2는 지지되었다. 정신·신체 소모와 평가절하에서는 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않아 가설 3과4는 지지되지 않았다. 중다회귀분석 결과, 3개의 독립변인 중 일주일 업무시간과 업무 외 근무시간은 종속변인인 직무탈진에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타나 가설 5-1과 5-2는 지지되지 않았으나 자기효능감은 직무탈진에 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 가설 5-3만 지지되었다. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of working hours and self-efficiency on burnout among PE teachers and sport instructors. Total of 129 respondents (PE Teachers: 74, Sports Instructors: 55) were secured through a convenience sampling. The data from 129 respondents were utilized for data analysis. The research hypotheses were tested using one-way MANOVA and multiple regression analysis. Normality of the data was examined using skewness(-.59 and .69) and Kurtosis(-.62 and .14). The results of this study indicated that the PE teachers showed higher mean scores in self-efficiency whereas sports instructors showed higher mean scores in reduced sense of achievement. According to the multiple regression analysis, the independent variables of ``working hours`` and ``hours in overtime`` did not have direct effect on burnout. Self-efficiency showed negative influence on burnout
Effect of Potassium Promoter on the Adsorption of Carbon Monoxide on Silica Supported Ruthenium

We have investigated the infrared spectra for carbon monoxide chemisorbed on silica supported ruthenium with and without potassium coating within the frequency range of 1800-2200 $cm^{-1}$ at various ruthenium concentrations and CO pressures. For the system without potassium coating, three bands were observed in the infrared spectra when CO was adsorbed on both the reduced and oxidized form of supported ruthenium. However, the relative intensities of these three bands were found to have no interdependence. Therefore, we have assigned each of these bands as arising from the CO stretching vibration for carbon monoxide molecules adsorbed on the Ru sites of different nature. On coating with potassium, the 2030 $cm^{-1}$ band observed for the system without potassium coating was found to suffer red shift by 10-30 $cm^{-1}$ and we conclude that this bathochromic shift is caused by enhancement in the capability of back donation of electrons from the metal atom to the antibonding ${\pi}{\ast}$ orbitals of CO due to the presence of potassium.
Alteration of Left Ventricular Function with Dobutamine Challenge in Patients with Myocardial Bridge

Background/Aims: The aim of this study was to identify changes in left ventricular (LV) performance in patients with a myocardial bridge (MB) in the left anterior descending coronary artery during resting and in an inotropic state. Methods: Myocardial strain measurement by speckle-tracking echocardiography and conventional LV wall-motion scoring was performed in 18 patients with MB (mean age, 48.1 ± 1.7 years, eight female) during resting and intravenous dobutamine challenge (10 and 20 μg/kg/min). Results: Conventional LV wall-motion scoring was normal in all patients during resting and in an inotropic state. Peak regional circumferential strain increased dose dependently upon dobutamine challenge. Longitudinal strains of the anterior and anteroseptal segments were, however, reduced at 20 μg/kg/min and showed a dyssynchronous pattern at 20 μg/kg/min. Although there were no significant differences in radial strain and displacement of all segments at rest compared with under 10 μg/kg/min challenge, radial strain and displacement of anterior segments at 20 μg/kg/min were significantly reduced compared with posterior segments at the papillary muscle level (44.8 ± 14.9% vs. 78.4 ± 20.1% and 5.3 ± 2.3 mm vs. 8.5 ± 1.8 mm, respectively; all p < 0.001), and showed plateau (40%) or biphasic (62%) patterns. Conclusions: Reduced LV strain of patients with MB after inotropic stimulation was identified. Speckle-tracking strain echocardiography identified a LV myocardial dyssynchrony that was not demonstrated by conventional echocardiography in patients with MB.
