Objective: This study is aimed at introduce the work-related musculoskeletal disorders(WMSDs) prevention activity in KOREA, focused on the timely technical consulting for WMSDs. Method: This activity is fist started from 2012, we visited the company in 2 months that occurred WMSDs. We consulted the preventive measures on the process that occurred WMSDs, and educated the employees about correct posture during work. Also, we visited again if the company recurrenced WMSDs. Results: We consulted 2,074 companies(under 300 workers) last year. The risk factors consisted of 59.3% accidental lumbar pain, 21.8% burdened work, 17.4% non-accidental and occupation related lumbar pain and 1.5% carpal tunnel syndrome and business consisted of service industry(46.2%) and manufacturing industry(41.0%). Examining MSDs in detail indicated that the majority of patients were male(80.4%), have less than 6 month of work experience(30.7%) and have worked for companies with less than 5 workers(28.9%). Only 20 of companies that we visited recurrenced a WMSDs in same year. Conclusion: WMSDs have increased steadily in KOREA and occupied 70% of occupational diseases. The timely technical consulting is very effective activity to prevent WMSDs. And it must to be expanded to actively prevent WMSDs.

With the development of the Internet, cosmetics and cosmetics-related products for people to do makeup their looks are becoming popular with the Internet. Colored soft contact lenses (colored lenses) in cosmetics introduced on the YouTuber or blog are essential items that do not fall during the makeup process. However, since color lenses are directly touching human eyes, they are sensitive to hygienic problems and can not be worn directly before purchasing, so users have difficulty in purchasing color lens suitable for them. In this paper, we propose an application that helps the users to select the desired color lens according to the users requirement when purchasing the color lens. The proposed application extracts the necessary eye data from the input user’s photographs, conducts a fuzzy algorithm on the extracted date, and recommends customized color lenses to the user.

Operating a stable and diverse air cargo network is a very important field not only for airline profits but also for securing the stability of the national cargo network. Air cargo networks are largely divided into belly cargo and freighter cargo, and since the two types have different transport characteristics and have complementary relationships with each other, they must be analyzed separately. This study aims to compare and analyze the two types of air cargo networks by the connection centrality, mediation centrality, and eigenvector centrality for major airports in Northeast Asia through Social Network Analysis(SNA). As a result, both major indicators of Hong Kong Airport and Incheon Airport were at the top, but Hong Kong Airport was particularly excellent in freighter indicators, showing competitiveness in cargo. On the side of Incheon Airport, this may suggest that it is necessary to secure competitiveness in freighter cargo.

Abstract

Manipulating specific micro-objects (e.g., colloidal particles and microorganisms) precisely and selectively in liquid medium is of great importance in myriad engineering fields. We here develop a hybrid technique for micromanipulation of micro-objects by incorporating optothermally and acoustically excited bubble on-demand. The integrated strategy combines strengths of optothermal (e.g., precise size control in bubble creation and easy delivery of micro-objects into target position) and acoustical (e.g., on-demand capturing and precise sorting of micro-objects) strategies. Microbubbles can be optothermally generated, and their size can be regulated by tuning the illumination time and power of a laser beam. The bubbles can be delivered into a preferred position an optothermocapillary flow. Sequentially, micro-objects with two different sizes can be selectively separated, and then only micro-objects with a specific size can be collected through a secondary acoustic radiation and a streaming flow generated from an acoustically oscillating bubble. To emulate on-demand manipulation of bio-objects in technological applications, we examine a full-step manipulation process of micro-objects, which consists of generating bubbles and sorting/capturing/carrying/releasing of desired micro-objects under optothermal and acoustical actuation. The hybrid manipulation technique can be a good alternative technology to conventional ones and thus can be utilized in biological applications and micro-device assembly.

Highlights

We propose a hybrid microbubble-based manipulation technique for precise and on-demand handling of micro-objects.

The optothermal scheme is used for size-controlled creation of bubbles and their easy delivery into a target position.

The acoustical scheme is used for on-demand sorting, capturing, and releasing of target micro-objects based on a bubble.

We examined a full-step manipulation process of micro-objects by an optothermally and acoustically activated bubble.

This technique can be applied to practical biomedical applications, such as single-cell manipulation and micro-device assembly.

Graphical abstract

[DISPLAY OMISSION]

Electrochemical reduction of CO2 is regarded as a promising technique for converting unwanted CO2 intohigh-value chemicals. Among the various electrocatalysts that are crucial for overcoming sluggish reductionprocesses, Zn has been continuously studied because of its suitable catalytic activity and abundancein the earth’s crust. In this study, we fabricated highly porous foam-like Zn nanostructures on a gas diffusionlayer (GDL) using hydrothermal growth and in situ reduction process. The prepared electrodeshowed a CO partial current density of 20.9 mA∙cm2 at 1.10 V, which is approximately 10 times higherthan that of the bare Zn foil. Moreover, the fabricated electrode can be directly applied to the large-scaleflow cell system without further modification. The flow cell system with the fabricated electrode showeda current density of approximately 200 mA∙cm2 and CO faradaic efficiency of 75% on a 2 h long experimentat 2.7 V cell voltage, which clearly confirms the possibility of highly porous Zn nanostructures onGDL.
