Machine Learning-based UWB Error Correction Experiment in an Indoor Environment

In this paper, we propose a method for estimating the error of the Ultra-Wideband (UWB) distance measurement using the channel impulse response (CIR) of the UWB signal based on machine learning. Due to the recent demand for indoor locationbased services, wireless signal-based localization technologies are being studied, such as UWB, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. The constructive obstacles constituting the indoor environment make the distance measurement of UWB inaccurate, which lowers the indoor localization accuracy. Therefore, we apply machine learning to learn the characteristics of UWB signals and estimate the error of UWB distance measurements. In addition, the performance of the proposed algorithm is analyzed through experiments in an indoor environment composed of various walls.
크라우드 소싱 환경에서 Differential Fingerprint 실내 측위 성능 분석

본 논문에서는 다양한 특성의 상용 단말이 존재하는 크라우드 소싱 환경에서 MDF(mean differential fingerprint)의 측위 성능을 분석하기 위해 사용자 위치 추정치의 크래머-라오 하한(Cramér-Rao lower bound, CRLB)을 유도한다. 크래머-라오하한을 유도하는 과정에서 피셔 정보 행렬(Fisher information matrix, FIM)을 통해 사용자 위치 추정 성능에 영향을 주는 요소를 확인한다. 또한, 실제 환경에서 수집된 데이터셋을 활용한 실험을 통해 differential fingerprint 및 기존 측위 방법의 성능을 확인한다.
크래머-라오 하한을 이용한 Differential Fingerprint 실내 측위 성능 분석

본 논문에서는 MDF(mean differential fingerprint)의 측위 성능 분석을 위해 사용자 추정 위치의 크래머-라오 하한(Cramér-Rao lower bound, CRLB)을 유도한다. 크래머-라오 하한 유도를 위한 피셔 정보 행렬(Fisher information matrix, FIM)을 통해 측위 성능에 영향을 주는 요소를 확인한다. 실내 측위 환경을 모사한 시뮬레이션을 통해 실내 측위 환경 및 구성에 따른 크래머-라오 하한을 SSD(signal strength difference)와 RSS(received signal strength) 핑거프린트 기법과 비교하여 제시한다.
Justice perceptions, perceived insider status, and gossip at work: A social exchange perspective

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Gossip is a ubiquitous phenomenon found in organisational life but has been under-researched within organisational literature. Our study elaborates on the multidimensional nature of workplace gossip in terms of valence (i.e., positive and negative) and targets (i.e., supervisors and organisations). We derive perceived justice and insider status as an antecedent and boundary condition of workplace gossip from social exchange theory. Our analysis of data collected from 329 nurses largely supports our hypothesised relationships between organisation-initiated (i.e., procedural and distributive) justice and gossip about the organisation, as well as between supervisor-initiated (i.e., interpersonal and informational) justice and gossip about the supervisor. With the exception of distributive justice, our work indicates the moderating effects of perceived insider status on the positive linkages between justice perceptions and positive gossip behaviours. Our findings provide theoretical implications for the gossip patterns across gossip triggers and gossipers and offer practical guidelines for effectively managing workplace gossip.</P>

Sarcopenia is defined as loss of muscle mass and strength due to aging. Recent studies show that sarcopenia may improve via the gut-muscle axis, suggesting that gut health may affect muscle phenotypes. In this study, we aimed to investigate the ability of Lactobacillus rhamnosus JY02 as a probiotic strain isolated from kimchi to alleviate sarcopenia. L. rhamnosus JY02-conditioned medium (CM) reduced dexamethasone (DEX)-induced myotube diameter atrophy and expression of muscle degradation markers (MuRF1 and atrogin-1) in C2C12 cells. The amelioration of sarcopenia was investigated by measuring body composition (lean mass), hand grip strength, myofibril size (using histological analysis), and mRNA and protein expression of muscle-related factors in a DEX-induced mouse model. The results of these analyses showed that L. rhamnosus JY02 supplementation promoted the production of muscle-enhancement markers (MHC Iβ, MHC IIα, and Myo-D) and reduced both the production of muscle degradation markers and the symptoms of muscle atrophy (loss of lean mass and muscle strength). We also found decreased levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, IFN- γ) and increased levels of anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-10) in the serum of DEX+JY02-administered mice compared to those in DEX-treated mice. Overall, these results suggest that L. rhamnosus JY02 is a potent probiotic supplement that prevents sarcopenia by suppressing muscle atrophy.
