Depression is common after acute coronary syndrome (ACS), adversely affecting cardiac course and prognosis. There have been only a few evidence-based treatment options for depression in ACS. Accordingly, we planned the Korean Depression in ACS (K-DEPACS) study, which investigated depressive disorders in patients with ACS using a naturalistic prospective design, and the Escitalopram for DEPACS (EsDEPACS) trial, which assessed the efficacy and safety of escitalopram for treating major or minor depression in patients with ACS. Participants in the K-DEPACS study were consecutively recruited from patients with ACS who were recently hospitalized at Chonnam National University Hospital, Gwangju, South Korea. Diagnoses were confirmed by coronary angiography from 2005. Data on depressive and cardiovascular characteristics were obtained at 2 weeks, 3 months, 12 months, and every 6 months thereafter following the index ACS admission. The K-DEPACS participants who met the DSM-IV criteria for major or minor depressive disorder were randomly assigned to groups in the 24-week, double-blind, placebo-controlled EsDEPACS trial beginning in 2007. The outcome of treatments for depressive and other psychiatric symptoms, issues related to safety, including general adversity, and cardiovascular factors were assessed. The K-DEPACS study can significantly contribute to research on the complex relationships between depression and ACS. The results of the EsDEPACS trial provide an additional treatment option for clinicians treating these patients.

<P>South Korea has recently achieved developed country status with the second largest megacity in the world, the Seoul Metropolitan Area (SMA). This study provides insights into future changes in air quality for rapidly emerging megacities in the East Asian region. We present total OH reactivity observations in the SMA conducted at an urban Seoul site (May-June, 2015) and a suburban forest site (Sep, 2015). The total OH reactivity in an urban site during the daytime was observed at similar levels (similar to 15 s(-1)) to those previously reported from other East Asian megacity studies. Trace gas observations indicate that OH reactivity is largely accounted for by NOX (similar to 50%) followed by volatile organic compounds (VOCs) (similar to 35%). Isoprene accounts for a substantial fraction of OH reactivity among the comprehensive VOC observational dataset (25-47%). In general, observed total OH reactivity can be accounted for by the observed trace gas dataset. However, observed total OH reactivity in the suburban forest area cannot be largely accounted for (similar to 70%) by the trace gas measurements. The importance of biogenic VOC (BVOCs) emissions and oxidations used to evaluate the impacts of East Asian megacity outflows for the regional air quality and climate contexts are highlighted in this study.</P>
High thermal conductivity in amorphous polymer blends by engineered interchain interactions

Thermal conductivity is an important property for polymers, as it often affects product reliability (for example, electronics packaging), functionality (for example, thermal interface materials) and/or manufacturing cost. However, polymer thermal conductivities primarily fall within a relatively narrow range (0.1–0.5 W m<SUP>−1</SUP> K<SUP>−1</SUP>) and are largely unexplored. Here, we show that a blend of two polymers with high miscibility and appropriately chosen linker structure can yield a dense and homogeneously distributed thermal network. A sharp increase in cross-plane thermal conductivity is observed under these conditions, reaching over 1.5 W m<SUP>−1</SUP> K<SUP>−1</SUP> in typical spin-cast polymer blend films of nanoscale thickness, which is approximately an order of magnitude larger than that of other amorphous polymers.

<P>Diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP)-based conjugated polymer <B>PDTDPPQT</B> was synthesized and was used to perform epitaxial polymer crystal growth on removable 1,3,5-trichlorobenzene crystallite templates. A thin-film transistor (TFT) was successfully fabricated in well-grown large spherulites of <B>PDTDPPQT</B>. The charge carrier mobility along the radial direction of the spherulites was measured to be 5.46–12.04 cm<SUP>2</SUP> V<SUP>–1</SUP> s<SUP>–1</SUP>, which is significantly higher than that in the direction perpendicular to the radial direction. The dynamic response of charge transport was also investigated by applying a pulsed bias to TFTs loaded with a resistor (∼20 MΩ). The charge-transport behaviors along the radial direction and perpendicular to the radial direction were investigated by static and dynamic experiments through a resistor-loaded (RL) inverter. The RL inverter made of <B>PDTDPPQT</B>-based TFT operates well, maintaining a fairly high switching voltage ratio (<I>V</I><SUB>out</SUB><SUP>ON</SUP>/<I>V</I><SUB>out</SUB><SUP>OFF</SUP>) at a relatively high frequency when the source-drain electrodes are aligned parallel to the radial direction.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/aamick/2015/aamick.2015.7.issue-24/acsami.5b02265/production/images/medium/am-2015-02265y_0009.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/am5b02265'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>

본 논문은 분포된 여러 제어 시스템들을 효과적으로 연결시켜주는 시리얼 버스 프로토콜인 LIN(Local Interconnect Network)의 ASIC 구현 및 검증 방법을 제안한다. LIN 프로토콜은 기존의 CAN 프로토콜이 사용되는 시스템에서 충분한 신뢰성 및 편리한 Diagnostic, Configuration 특성을 통해 시스템내의 제어용 서브버스 프로토콜로써 CAN을 보완하고 low cost로써 설계가 가능하다. low cost 및 버스오류 처리가 가능한 LIN controller의 설계를 위해 본 논문에서는 전체 Architecture를 기능 블록으로 세분화하여 Logic Sharing이 가능하게 하였으며 버스오류 처리기능을 포함하였다. 본 논문의 검증 모델은 3개의 LIN node로 구성되었으며, 시뮬레이터를 사용하여 기능 검증을 수행하였고 real time operation을 검증하기 위해 FPGA prototyping을 하였다.

Objective-To examine the reliability and validity of the Korean version of the 16-item Prodromal Questionnaire (KPQ-16) in nonhelp-seeking university students. Methods-aAmong 2,246 university students participated in the initial screening, 257 subjects with KPQ-16 scores ≥4 were interviewed.The criteria for ultra-high risk (UHR) of psychosis of the Comprehensive Assessment of At-Risk Mental States (CAARMS) were the gold standard for diagnosis. An exploratory modified version of the questionnaire (mKPQ-16), to which three items from the Eppendorf Schizophrenia Inventory were added, was also used to compensate for items on thought and cognitive problems. Result-Seventeen subjects met the CAARMS criteria for UHR of psychosis. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) was highest for the mKPQ-16 total score (AUROC=0.831, p<0.001). The use of cutoff total scores of 7 for the mKPQ- 16 and 6 for the KPQ-16 resulted in the best balance of sensitivity (76.5% and 64.7%, respectively) and specificity (75.4% and 71.2%, respectively). Conclusion-The Korean versions of the PQ-16 are good instruments for screening for psychosis risk in university students. This validation of a questionnaire version with a small number of items may make it feasible to screen large numbers of young adults in the community.
