<P>Cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD) is an autosomal dominant skeletal disorder caused by mutations in RUNX2, coding a key transcription factor of early osteogenesis. CCD patients suffer from developmental defects in cranial bones. Despite numerous investigations and clinical approaches, no therapeutic strategy has been suggested to prevent CCD. Here, we show that fetal administration of Entinostat/MS-275, a class I histone deacetylase (HDAC)-specific inhibitor, partially prevents delayed closure of cranial sutures in Runx2(+/-) mice strain of C57BL/6J by two mechanisms: 1) posttranslational acetylation of Runx2 protein, which stabilized the protein and activated its transcriptional activity; and 2) epigenetic regulation of Runx2 and other bone marker genes. Moreover, we show that MS-275 stimulates osteoblast proliferation effectively both in vivo and in vitro, suggesting that delayed skeletal development in CCD is closely related to the decreased number of progenitor cells as well as the delayed osteogenic differentiation. These findings provide the potential benefits of the therapeutic strategy using MS-275 to prevent CCD. (c) 2017 American Society for Bone and Mineral Research.</P>

<P>In this study, sum-of-squares (SOS)-based relaxed stability conditions for the continuous-time Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy system are derived using a polynomial non-quadratic Lyapunov function (PNQLF). The proposed methods consist of two approaches. Like the previous studies, the first uses the upper bounds on a time derivative of the fuzzy weighting function (TDFWF), and the other directly uses the TDFWF in order to obtain relaxed results and enlarge the domain of attraction. Moreover, unlike the conventional non-quadratic Lyapunov function, the newly proposed PNQLF uses different fuzzy weighting functions from those of the system in order to solve the existing problems. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed methods is demonstrated by some numerical examples.</P>

포도알균은 피부 및 연조직 감염과 관련된 병원체로 재발 감염의 위험이 높다. 저자들은 국내에서 Panton-Valentine leukocidin (PVL) 양성 메티실린 감수성 포도알균 ST1에 의한 가족 내 재발성 종기를 경험하였으며, 16개월의 남자 환아와 아버지, 어머니의 종기에서 획득한 검체는 모두 동일한 항생제 감수성을 보였다. 세 환자의 균주 모두 agr 그룹으로 확인되었고, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) 검사에서 sec, seh가 확인되었으며 PVL 유전자를 포함하고 있었다. 가족 내 신체 접촉으로 인한 포도알균의 전파 가능성 및 예방에 대한 고려를 해 볼 필요가 있다. Staphylococcus aureus is now a major community-acquired pathogen worldwide, notably associated with skin and soft tissue infections. Staphylococci are present in the form of colonizers or environmental contaminants at home and increase the risk of recurrent infection. We are describing recurrent familial furunculosis caused by Panton-Valentine Leukocidin-positive methicillin susceptible S. aureus ST1 in Korea. An infant, his father and mother had furunculosis due to methicillin-sensitive S. aureus (MSSA) infection with identical susceptibility patterns. ST1 accounted for all 3 isolates and they were confirmed of having agr group I. Both sec and seh were detected in all isolates using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays, and all isolates contained Panton-Valentine leukocidin (PVL) genes. Risk factors for the household spread of S. aureus include skin conditions and close physical contact among household members. The relationship between S. aureus colonization of household contacts and the occurrence of S. aureus infection should be studied into more detail.

<P>Alcoholism, a chronic behavioral disorder characterized by excessive alcohol consumption, has been a leading cause of morbidity and premature death. This condition is believed to be influenced by genetic factors. As copy number variation (CNV) has been recently discovered in human genome, genomic diversity of human genome is more frequent than previously thought. Many studies have reported evidences that CNV is associated with the development of complex diseases. In this study, we hypothesized that CNV can predict the risk of alcoholism.</P>

The tyrosine-protein kinase Tec (TEC) is a member of non-receptor tyrosine kinases and has critical roles in cell signaling transmission, calcium mobilization, gene expression, and transformation. TEC is also involved in various immune responses, such as mast cell activation. Therefore, we hypothesized that TEC polymorphisms might be involved in aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD) pathogenesis. We genotyped 38 TEC single nucleotide polymorphisms in a total of 592 subjects, which comprised 163 AERD cases and 429 aspirin-tolerant asthma controls. Logistic regression analysis was performed to examine the associations between TEC polymorphisms and the risk of AERD in a Korean population. The results revealed that TEC polymorphisms and major haplotypes were not associated with the risk of AERD. In another regression analysis for the fall rate of forced expiratory volume in 1 second ($FEV_1$) by aspirin provocation, two variations (rs7664091 and rs12500534) and one haplotype (TEC_BL2_ht4) showed nominal associations with $FEV_1$ decline (p=0.03-0.04). However, the association signals were not retained after performing corrections for multiple testing. Despite TEC playing an important role in immune responses, the results from the present study suggest that TEC polymorphisms do not affect AERD susceptibility. Findings from the present study might contribute to the genetic etiology of AERD pathogenesis.
Robust Stabilization Condition for a Polynomial Fuzzy System with Parametric Uncertainties

This paper concerns with the robust stabilization condition for the polynomial fuzzy system with parametric uncertainties. In the existing methods, nonlinear system with parametric uncertainties was modeled to the T-S fuzzy system. However, these methods has problem such as large number of the fuzzy rule. Therefore, this paper uses the polynomial fuzzy modeling method to manipulate the robust stabilization problem for the parameter uncertain nonlinear system. Furthermore, since new robust stabilization condition is derived from the polynomial Lyapunov function, so the condition is less conservative than previous robust stabilization condition. Finally, numerical example is given to show the validity of proposed method.
