        영화 시나리오 작법에서 관객과 소통할 수 있는 플롯에 대한 연구

        메인플롯과 서브플롯의 관계에서 서브플롯이 메인플롯의 부차적인 플롯 라인이 아니다. 메인플롯과 서브플롯은 하나의 ‘전체’를 이루는 상호의존적인 ‘부분들’인 것이다. 메인플롯과 서브플롯은 모두 훌륭한 스토리의 구성에 필수적 요소이자 동일한 위상을 지닌 것이 되어야 한다. 영화를 보는 관객을 몰입하게 만드는 것은 서사의 갈등에서 비롯된다. 갈등이 고조되면 위험이 발생하고 자동적으로 그 위험을 해결해야할 필요성이 생겨난다. 이는 다시 목표를 생성하고, 그것이 달성되어 가는 과정에서 극적 긴장이 작동되는데, 이것이야말로 관객을 끌어들이는 힘인 것이다. 스토리의 성패는 이러한 극적 긴장이 결미에까지 지속될 수 있느냐에 달려있다. 결국 갈등을 얼마나 정교하게 플롯으로 구성할 수 있느냐에 따라 스토리의 향배가 달라진다고 할 수 있다. 결론적으로 관객에게 영향력 있는 스토리는 ‘외적 갈등’, ‘내적 갈등’, ‘인물간의 관계에 의한 갈등’이 균형잡혀 있어야 한다. 인간의 삶은 변한다. 새로운 질서가 성립되고 새 생명이 창조된다. 이러한 변화를 추동하는 기본적인 요소는 ‘저항’과 ‘해결’의 두 축이다. 이 저항과 해결은 스토리의 갈등 구조에 의해 시간의 흐름에 따라 관객들이 느끼는 긴장과 이완의 관계와 같다. 즉 긴장의 정도라 할 수 있는 오름과 내림의 상태로 움직임의 호(arc)를 형성하게 된다. 즉 이야기는 멈춰진 환경에서는 존재하지 않으며 항상 변화하고 진화한다. 스토리는 호의 연쇄를 통해 구성되는데, 이는 곧 삶의 패턴이기도 하다. 인간의 삶은 과거 어딘가에서 시작되어 지속적으로 변화하는 연속체의 일부이며 미래를 향해 열려있다. 플롯 라인의 호 성격은 한 방향으로 흐르는 ‘선’과 달리 원형에 가깝다. 실제로 호를 구부려 접으면 ‘원’이 된다. 이는 곧 ‘호’가 반복적인 성장과 개발을 상징함을 보여준다. 그러나 ‘호’는 ‘원’이 지닌 폐쇄적 순환구조와도 변별된다. ‘호’는 무한대로 진행되는 나선형의 모습을 하고 있기 때문이다. 그러므로 지속적으로 발전할 수 있는 가능성을 노정한다. In the relationship between the main plot and the sub plot, the sub plot is not a secondary plot line of the main plot. The main plot and sub plot are interdependent parts that make up one whole. Both the main plot and the sub plot should be essential elements of a good story and have the same status. The immersion of the audience watching the movie comes from the narrative conflict. The heightened conflict creates risks and the need to automatically resolve them. This creates a goal again, and dramatic tension is triggered in the process of achieving it, which is the force that attracts the audience. The success or failure of the story depends on whether or not this dramatic tension can last. In the end, it can be said that the elaboration of the story depends on how elaborately the plot can be composed of conflicts. In conclusion, the stories that are influential to the audience must have a balanced balance between ‘external conflict’, ‘internal conflict’, and ‘personal conflict’. New order is established and new life is created. The basic factors driving this change are the two axes of ‘resistance’ and ‘solution’. This resistance and resolution is like the relationship between tension and relaxation that the audience feels over time due to the conflict structure of the story. In other words, the arc of movement is formed in the state of ascending and descending, which is the degree of tension. In other words, the story does not exist in a stationary environment and always changes and evolves. The story is constructed through a chain of favors, which are also patterns of life. Human life starts from somewhere in the past and is part of a constantly changing continuum and is open to the future. Unlike the‘line’ flowing in one direction, the arc character of the plot line is more like a circle. In fact, if you fold the arc, it becomes ‘the circle’. This shows that ‘the arc’ symbolizes repeated growth and development. However, ‘the arc’ is also distinguished from the closed circulation structure of ‘the circle’.

      • The affect induced while suppressing tics in Tic disorders (Tourette syndrome): Case Report

        The present study aimed to find the influence of the voluntarily tic suppression on the affect for children suffering from tic disorders. To observe the influence of tic suppression on the affect for children with tic disorders, we measured 32 channels of electroencephalogram (EEG) by using Computerized 40 Channel QEEG System for nineyear- old boy with tic disorders at right arm. The experiment consists of suppression and spontaneous tic sessions, approximately 5 minutes for each session. The channels analyzed were F3 F8 P4 on 10- 10 electrode placement system. Paired samples t-test showed significant difference between suppress and spontaneous sessions for indices of positive affect calculated from reverse of power in alpha band (1/Alpha), power in spectral peak of alpha band (1/Alpha-SP), from power ratios of all/Alpha and all/Alpha-SP, respectively. This results explain that the participant felt more negative affect during suppress (vs. spontaneous) session and support previous researches.

      • The influence of tic suppression on Mu waves in EEG for Tic disorders (Tourette Syndrome): Case Report

        Previous study has demonstrated that median nerve stimulation (MNS) can induce mu waves in sensory motor cortex (SMC) and reduce the severity of tic disorders. However, the MNS is not safe because it use electrical stimulation. On the other hand, the tic has been known to be voluntarily suppressed for a brief period. Grounding on these previous studies, the aim of the present study is to examine whether the mu wave power can be increased by voluntary suppression of tics for Tourette Syndrome (TS). We hypothesized that voluntary suppression of tics may cause the increase of mu-power in the SMC. As a result, the enhanced mu-power in the premotor cortex, contralateral to the site of motor tics, may contribute to stabilize the hyper-excitability of SMC. After all, the TS may be improved gradually by suppressing the mu-power in the contralateral premotor cortex with the help of neurofeedback training.

        아쿠아리움을 위한 미디어 전시 콘텐츠 제안

        본 논문은 아쿠아리움에 적합한 디지털 전시 콘텐츠에 대해 제시하며, 특히 경포 석호생태관 아쿠아리움의 전시에 대하여 기획하였다. 전체 공간에 대한 스토리텔링을 바탕으로 각 공간에 적합한 미디어 콘텐츠를 제시함으로써 전체 아쿠아리움과 동떨어진 것이 아닌 그 안의 각 요소에 자연스럽게 녹아들 수 있는 기획을 제시하고자 하였다. 아쿠아리움이라는 전시 특성상 전시와는 상관없지만 분명히 존재해야 하는 공간들이 존재하게 되는데, 이 공간들을 최대한 활용해 디자인함으로써 아쿠아리움 전체가 하나의 바닷속 공간인 것처럼 느껴지도록 유도하였다. 각 부분의 미디어 전시 기획은 공간에 적합한 미디어 플랫폼을 먼저 제시한 후 각각에 들어갈 콘텐츠를 기획하였다. 3D Water Projection, Kinect를 이용한 인터랙티브 미디어, Fog Screen로 총 3가지의 미디어 플랫폼의 사용을 제시하고, 그에 설치될 인터랙티브 전시 콘텐츠, 게임 콘텐츠, Fog Screen 콘텐츠에 대해서 기획하였는데, 이는 2D 드로잉 컨셉과 3D 전시 공간 모델링, 가상현실에서의 구현을 통해 제작되었다. 본 연구는 일반적인 전시와는 다른 특징을 갖는 아쿠아리움이라는 특정 전시 장르에 맞는 디지털 전시 콘텐츠를 단계적인 사전 시각화 방법을 통해 제시함으로써 차별화된 디지털 전시 콘텐츠를 제시했다는 데에 의의가 있다고 하겠다. In this paper, we propose digital exhibition contents for the aquarium, especially ‘Gyeongpo Lagoon Ecological Museum’. We try to plan appropriate media contents that can be mixed with the aquarium storytelling. The aquarium must have special spaces that are not related with an exhibition directly but are necessary for survival of fishes such as a water circulation room. We design the special spaces using media contents and let visitors feel that the whole aquarium is in the ocean. First of all, we investigate the aquarium currently under construction. And then, we propose the appreciate media platforms and plan individual content. We suggest 3 types of media platforms, 3D water projection, interactive games utilizing Kinect, and a fog screen. Moreover, we produce 2D drawing concepts, 3D modeling images, and virtual exhibitions in virtual reality for the representation of the location in which those platforms are installed and the media contents we plan. The pre-visualization is helpful for the media platform construction and is used as a rough sketch to producing an animation shown in the exhibition.

        미국 영화 〈프로포즈〉에 나타난 로맨틱 코미디의 장르적 관습과 관객의 반응

        본 연구는 할리우드의 최근 로맨틱 코미디 영화인 〈프로포즈(2009)〉를 대상으로 하여 미국 할리우드 로맨틱 코미디 영화의 장르적 관습이 관객에게 수용되는 데 있어 관객의 국적이나 젠더가 그 수용 양상의 차이에 어떤 영향을 끼치고 있는가 하는 문제를 실증적으로 확인하고자 시도하였다. 할리우드 로맨틱 코미디 장르는 대부분 남녀 배우가 드러내는 매력을 중심으로 하여, 이들이 만나고 헤어지는 어느 정도 관습화 된 플롯 위에 전개하는 특징을 갖고 있다. 영화 〈프로포즈〉 역시 이러한 관습화된 플롯 구조를 한편으로는 따르면서, 한편으로는 변주하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 영화 〈프로포즈〉에 등장하는 ‘배우’와 ‘등장인물’이라는 요소와, 할리우드의 일반적인 로맨틱 코미디 플롯에서 ‘사랑의 완성’으로 제시되는 ‘결혼식’과 ‘프로포즈’라는 요소가 한국과 미국이라는 국적과, 남성과 여성이라는 젠더에 따라서 어떤 다른 선호가 나타나는가 하는 바를 관객 반응을 묻는 설문조사와 통계를 통해 살펴보았고, 관객이 지향하는 가치들 사이의 상관성 분석을 통해 드러나는 의미를 해명하였다. This study is on Hollywood’s latest romantic comedy movie 〈The Proposal(2009)〉, attempted to identify whether nationality or gender difference of the movie audience is affecting on their acceptance to the genre characteristics of Hollywood’s romantic comedy. Most of Hollywood’s romantic comedy movies are centered on attraction of female and male actors and its’ formulated plot (boy-meets-girl, boy-loses-girl, boy-gets-girl structure). Although the movie 〈The proposal(2009)〉 is following the formulated romantic comedy plot, it shows a variation from the typical romantic comedy genre. In this thesis, based on audience research data, statistics and interrelationship analysis on audience value orientation, we elucidate how Korean and American, Female and Male movie audience have different preference to actors and characters in the movie 〈The Proposal(2009)〉 and representation of archetypal Hollywood romantic comedy happy ending such as propose and wedding scenes.

      • Electroencephalogram as a Reference Data for a Neuromarketing Service in Movie Industry

        Recently, with neuromarketing technology, marketing-relevant human behaviour can be understood. However, it is difficult to measure neurological signals compared to the ease with which subjective review questions can be given. Therefore, many researchers related to movie production want to share neurological signal data. Hence, a neuromarketing service which computes the attentional engagement (AE) of moviegoers is necessary and important in movie industry. In addition, to ensure the quality of the service, it is also important to evaluate the reliability of the data. In the present study, to serve as a reference data for neuromarketing in movie industry, we measured the AE of participants as they watched movies. The participants recruited were 12 right-handed students from the University of Tsukuba in Japan. To avoid previous movie experience by the Japanese participants as much as possible, we played the American movie Iron Man, which was considered to be a typical American ‘superhero’ movie. The procedure of the experiment consisted of three sessions. The first session was done to measure the EEG of the participants during a five-minute baseline state. The second session sought to measure EEG from participants while they watched the movie, and this session took approximately two hours. The third session, which took place after the movie, evaluated how the participants felt while watching the movie. We found a significant decrease in the EEG power in the low-alpha-frequency band while the participants watched film content which evokes subjective higher AE due to subjective higher excitement. To use our results as reference data for a neuromarketing service which computes the AE of moviegoers, we established a procedure with criteria which evaluate the quality level of data. In conclusion, film content evoking high AE with excitement will reduce the low-alpha-frequency band of the EEG power significantly. According to the procedure with criteria for evaluating the reliability of data, as suggested in the present study, the EEG power values with the uncertainty which is traceable to a national standard can be used as validated reference data for a neuromarketing service which computes the AE of moviegoers while watching the American movie Iron Man.
