맨드라미(Celosia cristata L.) 꽃 메탄올 추출물로부터 용매분획된 분획물의 항산화활성

맨드라미꽃의 식품학적 이용가능성을 확인해 보고자 항산화성분 및 항산화활성에 대해 검토하였다. 맨드라미꽃의 항산화성분과 활성은 메탄올 추출물과 순차적 용매분획물에 대해 측정하였으며, 메탄올 추출물과 hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol 및 물 분획물의 추출수율은 각각 23.33, 10.27, 20.00, 13.63, 17.55 및 38.54%였다. 맨드라미 꽃 메탄올 추출물의 총 polyphenol, flavonoid 및 tannin 함량은 각각 6.80 ㎎ GAE/g ME, 2.34 ㎎ CE/g ME 및 6.23 ㎎ TAE/g ME였다. 순차적 용매분획물 중 butanol 분획에서 각각 14.92 ㎎ GAE/g SF, 5.44 ㎎ CE/g SF 및 13.38 ㎎ TAE/g SF로 함량이 높았다. 총 proanthocyanidin 함량은 44.72 ㎍ CE/g ME였고 순차적 용매분획물은 각각 42.47, 44.43, 50.03, 49.12 및 41.80 ㎍ CE/g ER로 용매간 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. 맨드라미꽃의 메탄올 추출물의 DPPH 및 ABTS radical 소거활성은 각각 5.24 및 10.70 ㎎ TE/g ME였고 butanol 분획에서 각각 12.53 및 21.09 ㎎ TE/g SF로 활성이 높았다. 메탄올 추출물의 SOD 유사활성은 7.96 unit/mL로 나타났고 hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol 및 물 분획물은 각각 4.56, 6.15, 8.07, 12.36 및 5.21 unit/mL로 butanol 분획의 활성이 높았다. 맨드라미꽃 추출물의 항산화성분과 항산화활성 간에 높은 정의 상관관계를 보였고 맨드라미꽃 추출물이 체내 및 식품에서 유익한 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 생각된다. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the antioxidant contents and activities of solvent fractions from methanolic extracts of cockscome flowers. The yield of methanolic extracts from cockscome flowers was 23.33%, whereas those of its solvent fractions (hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol, and water) were 10.27, 20.00, 13.63, 17.55, and 38.54%, respectively. Total polyphenolic, flavonoid, tannin, and proanthocyanidin contents of methanolic extracts (ME) were 6.80 ㎎ gallic acid equivalent (GAE)/g ME, 2.34 ㎎ catechin equivalent (CE)/g ME, 6.23 ㎎ tannic acid equivalent (TAE)/g ME, and 44.72 ㎍ CE/g ME, respectively. The highest total polyphenolic, flavonoid, and tannin contents of solvent fractions were 14.92 ㎎ GAE/g solvent fraction (SF), 5.44 ㎎ CE/g SF, and 13.38 ㎎ TAE/g SF in the butanol fraction, respectively. The total proanthocyanidin contents were 42.47, 44.43, 50.03, 49.12, and 41.80 ㎍ CE/g SF, respectively. The DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities from cockscome flowers were 5.24 and 10.70 ㎎ Trolox equivalent (TE)/g ME, respectively. The highest DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities of the solvent fractions were 12.53 and 21.09 ㎎ TE/g SF in the butanol fraction, respectively. SOD-like activities of methanolic extracts from cockscome flowers were 7.96 units/mL, whereas those of its solvent fractions were 4.56, 6.15, 8.07, 12.36, and 5.21 units/mL, respectively. The results of this study show that notable antioxidant activities in cockscome flowers have significant health benefits.

Bernard malamud's efforts to describe the nature of Jewishness as a Jewish American writer, with the distinctively Jewish gualities of his writing, have covered a range from the very general qualities of moral sensitivity and intellectuality to his awareness, responsibility, ethicality, and love of people and God. Malamud tries to see the Jew as a universal man. Every man is a Jew through he may not know it. The Jewish drama is a symbol of the fight for existence in the highest possible human terms. Malamud' s search is for value and in his fiction he belongs squarely in the great line of moral realists which stretches from Hawthorne, Henry James, Stephen Crane, F. Scott Fitzgerald, to Hemingway himself. Malamud's central characters also have an ethic; their struggle is to discover it in themselves as well as to apply it in their lives. What is it to be human, to be humane, is his subject; connection, inadeptness, responsibility, these are his moral concerns. Out of shattering reality he struggles to create possibility. Out of poignant defeat and limitation comes a connection of men, a shared vulnerability that instigates a moral vision. This moral vision becomes the human struggle to accept life, to affirm it, and the struggle is constant. The first and most obvious quality of his fiction is its "goodness." This is a complex quality, compounded of irony, trust, and craft-a touch of Dostoevsky and Chagall, anyone observed deeply responsible to its feeling of what transforms a man into mensch. Out of the every defeats and indignities of ordinary people, Malamud creates beautiful parables that capture the joy as well as the pain of life; he expresses the digity of the human spirit searching for freedom and moral growth in the face of hardship, in justice, and the existential anguish of life in our time.

Humor and irony in Bernard Malamud's fiction are at the core of his achievement from The Natural to God's Grace. His tone is full of humanistic values through tragicomic vision and ironical effect with double meanings. In his seven novels Malamud experimented with techniques of humor and irony in the structure of humanism. In The Natural, with comic absurd surface a surrealistic dramatic tone is found to give his humor grounding through myth, magic, and fantasy of dream, whereas in The Tenants, inhuman Harry and irrational Willie as humanistic persons, are emphasized, The consciousness of mutual coexistence through reality and fantasy is obvious. In A New Life, comic irony appears in S. Levin's character portrayal, in The Fixer, Yiddish irony in Yakov Bok's language and thought, in The Assistant, Yiddish rhythm with paradoxical subject and Jewish humor to convert success and failure of each other. Also in Pictures of Fidelman, black humor, parody, deconstruction of mimic aesthetics, and the radical irony against existing arts are reflected in the course of artist's adventure. In the most complicated and unintelligible novel, God's Grace, he shows ironical effects like paradox, dream, magic, suffering, reversal of situation, language and myth. In conclusion, Malamud intends to portray humanistic spirit to embody human intrinsic passion, meaningful suffering in life, and beauty in the human mind through the above mentioned comic and ironical vision.

This study was designed for evaluation of brainstem in schizophrenics with auditory hallucination. We investigated the BAEP on 14 schizophrenics with auditory hallucination 12 schizophrenics without auditory hallucination and 15 normal controls. The results were as follows; 1) Schizophrenics with auditory hallucination had a trend of more abnormal BAEP than schizophrenics without auditory hallucination(P〈0.06) 2) The severer auditory hallucination in schizophrenics was, the more frequent abnormal BAEP showed. 3) Schizophrenics with abnormal BAEP and with normal BAEP had no differences of age, sex, psychopathology, doses of neuroleptics, onset age and genetic loading. 4) In total schizophrenics, V amplitude was significantly lower and I/V amplitude ratio was significantly higher than in normal controls(P〈0.01). This findings suggest that schizophrenics with auditory hallucination may have brainstem dysfunction, which may induce auditory hallucination.

Prolapse of the fallopian tube into the vaginal vault after hysterectomy is a rare complication. Since most of cases may resolve before detection or remain undiagnosed, the exact incidence is still unknown. Though most common sign of tubal prolapse is tender friable tissue in vaginal cuff, with the simptoms of lower abdominal pain, dysparenunia, vaginal discharge, or postcoital spotting. The definitive diagnosis should be confirmed histologically Recently, we experienced a case of fallopian tube prolapse after abdominal hysterectomy in a 41-year-old woman and report with a brief review of the literature.

기존의 학습자 평가 시스템은 교수자의 주관적인 관점과 견해에 의해 각 문항의 난이도가 결정되는 단점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 학습자의 개별 능력 평가가 가능하고 개인별 학습 수준에 적합한 문항을 난이도, 변별도 및 추측도를 이용하여 학습자에게 제공함으로써 개인별 문항 평가가 가능한 학습자 평가 시스템을 개발하고자 한다. 본 연구의 학습자 평가 시스템은 CAT 기법의 문항 반응 이론 중 3-모수 로지스틱 모델을 이용하여 개발한다. In existing the learner testing system, it has a weak point to determine differently the difficulty of each question which has been estimated by teacher's view and the subjective stand point. In this paper, we develops the learner testing system which supports the estimation of the individual ability of learner, provides the questions for suitable to the individual learner level, and able to estimate the question of individual that used by three parameters such as the difficulty parameter, discrimination parameter, and guessing parameter. Also, it is applied to three-parameters logistic model of IRT(Item Response Theory) for using CAT(Computer Adaptive Testing) technique.

Modernism And A Farewell to Arms song Tae-jong The individual in the chaotic society of a 20th century situation was the real custodian of human values. In this sense, modernist writers showed strongly a self-conscious element and a highly individualistic sense in the modernist's literary production. The movement towards sophistication and mannerism, towards introversion, technical display, internal self-scepticism, has often been taken as a common base for a definition of modernism. The main characteristics of modernism are acute cognition of many problems in arts and ceaseless self-consciousness not to be frustrated under any challengers. Especially, Hemingway constantly asserts that writing is a form of truth telling, but in this regard he has rarely been credited with the sophisticated self-awareness of literary modernism. This is a recognizable version of the morality of art, a fundamental element of the modernist aesthetic. At the same time, Hemingway's insistence on the importance of what is known-on what, in the deepest sense, is true-establishes a connection between his modernism and something earlier, something more specifically American. He acquired his modernism in Paris from writers who were either expatriates or Europeans, as well as through Ezra Pound and Sherwood Anderson. These literary modernist development in Hemingway's writing was proved excellently in the Sun Also Rises and A Farewell to Arms. He also was sustaining such a literary mode in For whom The Bell Tolls and The Old Man and the Sea. In A Farewell to Arms, Hemingway suggests the following : Henry's realization of society and the hypocrisy of the Italian Army in the war and Henry's powerful antagonistic consciousness against the absurd war : Henry's escape and search for separate peace from this disillusive situations and human double masquerade. Heminggway idealizes the romantic and tragic Catherine, emphasizes her self-sacrifice, her physical attributes, explains her impulsive involvement with Henry. And Catherine has a series of uncontrollable hemorrhages that lead to her death. She dies after Henry escapes from the war. Though she separates Henry, the punitive death of Catherine and her son suggests Hemingway's rejection of them. Henry's friendship with other Characters fuse into individualistic and transcendental ethic rather than assuming a conciliatory attitude of universal and immoral ethic of society. They present to us the "Hemingway Code" of man's life which is formed on the basis of the characters sense of existential ethics. In this perspective, this novel seems to be the great literary achivement in the moderhist period.

고온초전도체의 탄성상수

고온초전도체 La_(2-x)Sr_(x)CuO_(4)의 탄성상수의 온도 의존성을 설명할 수 있는 미시적인 model을 제시하고, 온도가 내려감에 따라 탄성상수 c_(66)만이 감소하는 현상은 페르미 준위 E_(F) 근처에 존재하는 이중으로 축퇴된 itinerant p-band 때문에 발생함을 밝혔다. A microscopic model is presented to explain the temperature dependence of the elastic constants of La_(2-x)Sr_(x)CuO_(4). It is shown that the elastic softening of c_(66) originates from the doubly degenerate itinerant p-band near E_(F).
