The present study has been conducted experimentally to optimize the nozzle and diffuser shapes and diameters for dust removal system. Investigation of a dust removal system has been carried out to develop hot gas clean-up technology and to study for feasibility of clean coal technology pilot plant construction. Experiments was conducted to investigate the effects of pulse nozz1e and diffuser shapes on the air entrainments and on the pressure distribution in a particulate removal system. The main experimental parameters are different nozz1e shapes, nozzle diameters and nozzle tip positions from the diffuser upper plane. Especially, two different types of diffusers with a convergent-divergent shape and a divergent shape were tested systematically. Softwood cuttings were conducted to establish an efficient propagation method of highbush blueberry grown in shaded glasshouses during summer from year 2005 to 2007. When the cuttings were planted in peatmoss:sand (4:1) media survival rates of ‘Bluejay’ and ‘Bluegold’ were 52.8 and 71.5%, respectively. ‘Sharpblue’ was 85.5% when the cuttings were planted in peatmoss media. Growth and rooting were significantly improved when peatmoss was used as a major component of media comparing to combination of common bed soil, perlite, and vermiculite. Length of cuttings affected the survival rate, too and those for short cuttings (8-12 ㎝) and long cuttings (14-16 ㎝) of ‘Bluegold’ were 66.7 and 49.3%, respectively. ‘Bluejay’ cuttings showed the similar tendency, while the length of cuttings did not affect the survival rate of ‘Sharpblue’. Improved rooting and consecutive growth was found when thick cuttings were used for ‘Sharpblue’ and ‘Bluegold’ and thin cuttings were used for ‘Bluejay’. Results indicate that the survival rate, rooting and consecutive growth for softwood cutting were improved when shoot and thick cuttings were used the conditions of the present study.

<P>Primary cardiac lymphoma (PCL) is an extranodal non-Hodgkin's lymphoma exclusively located in the heart and/or pericardium. It is rare in immunocompetent patients and represents 1.3% of primary cardiac tumors and 0.5% of extranodal lymphomas. The clinical behavior is aggressive and the early symptoms are cardiac failure, syncope, arrhythmia, or pericardial effusion. Although echocardiography, computed tomography (CT) scan, magnetic resonance image (MRI) are the mainly used imaging techniques to detect cardiac tumors, pathologic examination is always required to confirm the diagnosis. Diagnosis of PCL is difficult due to non-specific clinical manifestations and requires invasive approach to get histopathologic evidence. While surgery with systemic chemotherapy or in combination with irradiation has been attempted, the only effective treatment is chemotherapy. However, the prognosis remains poor. We report on a 42-year-old woman who is diagnosed histopathologically as PCL by cardiac catheterization assisted percutaneous endomyocardial biopsy and treated successfully by anthracycline based chemotherapy.</P>

The link between pre-entry conditions and the post-entry performance of diversifying entries by Korean largest business group so called Chaebol was examined. Pre-entry conditions were measured as industry, competitive interaction, parent-entrant relatedness, parent resource. The post-entry performance were measured by survival and profitability. This paper showed that the parent-entrant relatedness and parent resource were much more Important in the post-entry performance of diversifying entries than industry and competitive interaction. It meant that Korea business groups were the economic institutions to minimize transaction costs prevalent in Korea.

석탄을 합성석유로 전환시키는 석탄액화(CTL) 공장은 2차 세계대전시 독일 및 영국에서 가동되어 대량의 연료를 공급한 바 있다. 전후 대형 유전이 발견되어 값싼 석유가 공급되면서 CTL 공장의 운전은 중단되었다. 남아프리카공화국의 Sasol사만이 유일하게 1955년에 CTL공장의 조업을 시작하여 현재 하루 15만배럴의 석탄합성석유를 생산하고 있다. 최근 고유가가 지속되고 석유공급에 대한 불안감 때문에 여러 개의 석탄액화 프로젝트가 진행되고 있다. 중국은 2030년까지 석탄합성석유를 연간 3천만톤(60만배렬/일) 생산할 계획을 수립하였고, 2만배럴/일 규모의 석탄직접액화공장이 2008년 완공될 예정이다. 미국에서도 8개의 CTL 프로젝트가 진행되고 있다. 호주, 필리핀, 인도네시아, 인도 등에서도 석탄액화 프로젝트를 추진하고 있다. 석유를 전량 수입하는 우리나라도 에너지안보 차원에서 CTL에 대한 접근이 필요하다. 본고에서는 한국에너지기술연구원에서 추진되고 있는 석탄 기준 10톤/일급 석탄 합성석유 생산 공정 설계, 설비 시공 현황 및 향후 계획에 대하여 기술하였다.

Frequency-Reconfigurable Antenna for Broadband Airborne Applications

<P>In this letter, we propose a broadband reconfigurable antenna for aircraft communication that covers the VHF/UHF/L-bands (30-300/300-400/960-1220 MHz). The proposed antenna structure is a modified biconical unipole antenna. The antenna is frequency-reconfigurable using a p-i-n diode switch. In the on state, the antenna operates as a V-type traveling antenna and covers 30-300 and 960-1150 MHz. In the off state, the antenna operates as a unipole antenna and covers 300-400 and 1150-1220 MHz. The maximum power dissipation of the proposed antenna is 18 W. The proposed antenna has VSWR <; 2.5 for all bands. Antenna gain is less than 1.8 dBi at 30-400 MHz and 2.5 dBi at 960-1220 MHz.</P>
