      • Recurrent Stent Thrombosis developed using of Novel ADP Receptor Antagonist

        Stent thrombosis (ST) is a rare but fatal complication after drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation. The new ADP (Adenosine diphosphate) inhibitors have been reported to improve cardiovascular outcomes including ST. We report this case because ST developed three times despite use of new ADP inhibitor. In January 2005, a 61-year-old male with stable angina received PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention) for proximal LAD (left anterior descending artery) (Fig. 1A, B). He was loss to follow up after 6 month. In September 2012, he presented with anterior STEMI (ST elevation myocardial infarction) and cardiogenic shock by ST on LAD. ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) and PCI was performed. (Fig. 2A, B). He was discharged with aspirin and prasugrel. After 7 month, he didn’t take an aspirin incidentally for 2 months. In July 2013, he presented with anterior STEMI by second ST in LAD. IABP (Intraaortic balloon pump) was applied and PCI was performed. In the same time, proximal LCX (left circumflex artery) showed 80% stenosis and PCI was done (Fig. 3A, B). He was discharged switched over from prasugrel to ticagrelor. In November 2013, he presented with STEMI by third ST in LAD (Fig. 4A). Cardiac arrest occurred after stenting of LAD by dissection of LCX and ECMO was applied. LCX was treated with PCI (Fig. 4B, C). He was discharged with aspirin, prasugrel and cilostazol. Triple antiplatelet therapy with new ADP inhibitor might be considered with recurrent ST.

      • Synthetic Microbial Consortia with Circuit-guided Population-guiding Strategy for Improving Biochemical Production

        Although microbial consortia have been considered potential platforms for bioprocessing applications, the complexity in process control owing to the use of multiple strains necessitates the use of an efficient population control strategy. Herein, we report a novel population control strategy for improving biochemical production by a microbial consortium using circuit-guided synthetic acclimation. As a proof of concept, we designed a consortium comprising alginate-utilizing Vibrio sp. dhg and 3-hydroxypropionic acid (3-HP)-producing Escherichia coli strains for the direct conversion of alginate to 3-HP. We constructed a genetic circuit, named “Population guider”, which degrades ampicillin only when 3-HP is produced. We observed that 3-HP production by an acclimated population increased by 4.3-fold compared to that by a simple co-culturing consortium during a 48-h fermentation. We believe this concept is a useful strategy for the development of robust consortium-based bioprocesses.

        꿀벌 미국부저병 진단 Kit 개발

        American foulbrood is very hamful bacterial disease caused by Paenibacillus larvae infection in honeybee, leads great damage to bee-farming and subsequently results in critical loss of productivity in many cases. To detect the infection of Paenibacillus larvae, the ELISA and the Immuno-chromatographic assay methods were developed using specific monoclonal antibodies against Paenibacillus larvae spore. Four of the monoclonal antibodies produced were identified to be IgG1 and one to be IgG2b. No cross-reactivity of the antibodies were detected with the 13 kinds of bacteria including Melissococcus pluton which is causative agent of European Foulbrood, indicating that the monoclonal antibodies were highly specific for Paenibacillus larvae. The detection limits of Paenibacillus larvae spore were determined to be 10?spore/ml, and the sensitivity and specificity were 96% and 100% respectively in ELISA. The detection limits of Paenibacillus larvae spore were determined to be 107spore/ml, and the sensitivity and specificity were 92% and 100% respectively in immunochromatographic assay. These results suggested that the ELISA and immunochromatographic assay developed in this study could be applied in diagnosis of American foulbrood.

        The Development Process Model of Sports Fan Loyalty via CSR of Professional Sports Teams

        Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate how sports fans' loyalty is built via CSR activities of professional sports teams. Furthermore, the study sought to suggest the model presenting the process of developing loyalty of sport fans by teams' CSR performance. Research design, data, and methodology: For this purpose, a survey was conducted on 450 professional sports fans through the convenience sampling method. A total of 357 of the data were used for the final analysis. Based on the collected data, frequency analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation model analysis were conducted. Results: The results showed that CSR activities contribute to building a positive image of team. Regarding fan identification, team image has also a positive effect on enhancing identification. The finding has supported the notion that attitudinal loyalty is enhanced by fan identification and further attitudinal loyalty significantly influences behavioural loyalty of fans. Conclusions: The results of this study explored the function of CSR of the teams on attitudinal and behavioural outcomes, loyalty. Moreover, the study suggested the constructual model presenting its role on enhancing fans' attitudes and behaviour affecting participation and consumption. Academic and practical implications were discussed for sport marketers and practitioners.

        Effects of changes in occupational stress on the depressive symptoms of Korean workers in a large company

        Background: Prospective studies on occupational stress and depression among Korean workers are scarce. This study aimed to investigate the causal relationship between changes in occupational stress and the presence of depression. Methods: This study analyzed data from a survey conducted with workers in a large Korean company (2015–2016). Occupational stress was measured using the Korean Occupational Stress Scale, and depression was screened using the WHO-5 Well-being Index. The levels of occupational stress were grouped in quartiles based on subjects’ occupational stress scores in 2015, and changes in occupational stress were measured using the score changes between the 2015 and 2016 surveys. Subjects were divided into four groups according to the presence or absence of depression in 2015 and 2016: a non-depressed group whose mental health did not change, a non-depressed group whose mental health deteriorated, a depressed group that continued to be depressed, and a depressed group whose symptoms of depression were alleviated. Logistic regression analysis was used to calculate the odds ratios (ORs) and confidence intervals (CIs) of the subjects’ deterioration in mood or alleviation of depression by occupational stress levels and changes. Results: The OR for developing depressive symptoms was 2.51 (95% CI 1.46–4.33) and 2.73 (95% CI 1.39–5.36) in the third and the fourth quartiles of occupational stress, respectively, compared to the first quartile. When the occupational stress score increased by 1 point, the OR for increasing depressive symptoms was 1.07 (95% CI 1.04–1.10). There was no significant difference in the alleviation of depressive symptoms between the groups by level of occupational stress. However, when the occupational stress score decreased by 1 point, the OR for alleviating depressive symptoms was 1.08 (95% CI 1.05–1.11). Conclusion: The results showed that increased occupational stress increased the presence of depressive symptoms, and that reduced occupational stress suppressed the development of depressive symptoms. More attention should be paid to stress management among workers.

      • S-227 Acute myocardial infarction on RCA in young patient without atherosclerosis risk factor

        ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) in young patient is very rare. Cases of STEMI in young patients with familiar hypercholesterolemia or anatomical problem such as anomalous origin of the left coronary artery or coronary aneurysm from Kawasaki disease have been reported. But there are few case of STEMI in young patient who did not have any atherosclerotic risk factor. We report a case of 17-year-old male who developed STEMI on middle right coronary artery (mRCA), who did not have risk factor of acute coronary syndrome (ACS). A 17-year old male presented to the Emergency Department (ED) with sudden onset of left chest pain which occurred 30 minutes before admission. The patient was a nonsmoker and did not abuse alcohol. He had neither diabetes mellitus nor hypertension. None of his family member had any history of acute coronary disease. Initial EKG taken at ED revealed ST elevation in II, III, aVF lead with reciprocal ST depression on precordial leads. After administration of sublingual nitroglycerin, his chest pain subsided. Initial laboratory data showed nonspecific findings including CK-MB of 0.21ng/mL and troponin-I of 0.021ng/mL. Echocardiogram showed left ventricle with ejection fraction of 55%, and slightly decreased wall motion on basal to mid inferior wall. We started treatment with loading dose of Aspirin, Ticagrelor and intravenous heparin. Coronary angiography (CAG) revealed complete occlusion of the mRCA with TIMI flow 0, and collateral flow coming from Left anterior descending artery. Flow in mRCA was restored with balloon angioplasty and thrombus aspiration. Drug eluting stent was deployed in mRCA. The patient was treated with intravenous abciximab and heparin additionally during PCI. An echocardiogram done at the 3rd hospital day showed good systolic function, with no regional wall motion abnormality. The valves were normal. His subsequent hospital course was uneventful. He made a full recovery and was discharged home at 5th hospital day. This report is one of the youngest case of STEMI in Korea. Even in young patient without risk factor of ACS who present with chest pain and ST elevation on EKG, evaluation with CAG should be done promptly to diagnose and to treat STEMI.

        Design of Miniaturized Vertical Split-Ring Resonator Based on Coupled Coplanar Waveguide

        <P>In this letter, a vertical split-ring resonator (VSRR) based on a coupled coplanar waveguide (CCPW) is proposed to reduce the longitudinal length of a VSRR. The resonant condition of the proposed resonator is obtained using the transmission line theory and the odd-mode analysis. The longitudinal length of the resonator is reduced using the CCPW. From full-wave simulations, the relationship between the loaded bandwidth and design parameters is investigated. The proposed design to miniaturize the resonator was fabricated and measured, and it is verified that the effective longitudinal length of the proposed VSRR based on CCPW is reduced by 50% compared with the previous VSRR.</P>
