This study was purposed to investigate the effect of yukmijihwangtang on rat blood components and organ histopathologic changes in the different environments of hyperbaric ambient air. The pharmacological effects of yukmijiwhangtang in oriental medicine have been reported to improve general condition and treat mental and physical weakness due to overload. 84 Male Sparague-Dawely rats, 200-250 g weight, were housed two per cage, fed Standard Rodent Diet with water ad libitum. The animals were assigned to 3 main groups for the blood components and gas analysis : normobaric control group (NC ; N=4), hyperbaric control group (HC ; N=8), hyperbaric medication group (HM ; N=8). HC and HM group were devided into 2 subgroups and kept on different situation of the hyperbaric ambient air (2ATA or 3ATA) for 2 hrs. HM group was administered 10cc extract of boiled yukmijiwhangtang before exposure. For histopathological analysis, hyperbaric groups(HC and HM : N=80) was further devided into 2 subgroups according to atmosphere absolute and exposure period : 2ATA (acute, 1, 2, 3, 4 wks), 3ATA (acute, 1, 2, 3, 4 wks). There were 20 groups in total, with 4 animals in each group. Experimental rats of HM group were administered 10cc extract of boiled yukmijiwhangtang 2 times per day and kept on situation of the hyperbaric ambient air (2ATA and 3ATA) 2 hrs per day for four weeks. In order to record the possible effects of yukmijiwhangtang in hyperbaric condition on the blood components, the rats were killed by decapitation directly after the hyperbaric exposure for 2 hrs. But the administered rats were killed on the morning following the last hyperbaric exposure during 4 wks. The samples were taken 2 hrs, 1, 2, 3, 4 wks after the begining of this study. Blood was collected from posterior abdominal vena cava immediately after decapitation. Organs for histopathological assays in hyperbaric groups (HC and HM) were also removed 2 hrs, 1, 2, 3, 4 wks and fixed at 10% formalin solution. The whole blood of 1㎖ was used for the analysis of pH, PO₂, PCO₂, HCO₃, BE, O₂CT, O₂SAT level by Blood Gas Autoanalyzer (Coning 175, U.S.A). And The rest whole blood of 1㎖ was utilized for the measurement of WBC (white blood cell), RBC (red blood cell), Hb (hemoglobin), Hct (hematocrit), MCV (mean corpuscular volume), MCH (mean corpuscular hemoglobin) level by Microcell Counter (Model; CC-170-TDA Co., Japan). Hematological and blood gas analysis and organ histopathological changes after exposure to hyperbaric ambient air were as follow; (1) Hematological parameters were lower in the hyperbaric medication group than all the control groups without WBC, MCV (2ATA) and MCV, MCH (3ATA). But a statistical significance among the groups was not shown. (2) The hyperbaric medication group was lower than another control groups on all parameters of blood gas analysis after 2 hours exposure to hyperbaric ambient air (2ATA and 3ATA) without O₂SAT. But a statistical significance among the groups was not shown. (3) On observing the histopathological system of the lung with microscope, the congestion, edema and hemorrhage on the alveolar sacs and alveolar wall damage in the hyperbaric control group were heavier than in the hyperbaric medication group.

<P>We introduce an orientation-controlled alignment process of p-GaN/InGaN multiquantum-well/n-GaN (p/MQW/n InGaN) nanorod light-emitting diodes (LEDs) by applying the direct current (DC) offset-alternating current (AC) or pulsed DC electric fields across interdigitated metal electrodes. The as-forwardly aligned p/MQW/n InGaN nanorod LEDs by a pulsed DC dielectrophoresis (DEP) assembly process improve the electroluminescence (EL) intensities by 1.8 times compared to the conventional AC DEP assembly process under DC electric field operation and exhibit an enhanced applied current and EL brightness in the current-voltage and EL intensity-voltage curves, which can be directly used as the fundamental data to construct DC-operated nanorod LED devices, such as LED areal surface lightings, scalable lightings (micrometers to inches) and formable surface lightings. The enhancement in the applied current, the improved EL intensity, and the increased number of forwardly aligned p/MQW/n InGaN nanorods in panchromatic cathodoluminescence images confirm the considerable enhancement of forwardly aligned one-dimensional nanorod LEDs between two opposite electrodes using DC offset-AC or a pulsed DC electric field DEP assembly process. These DC offset-AC or pulsed DC electric field DEP assembly processes suggest that designing for these types of interactions could yield new ways to control the orientation of asymmetric p/MQW/n InGaN diode-type LED nanorods with a relatively low aspect ratio.</P>

<P>To develop imaging of lymphatics with resolution greater than that of lymphoscintigraphy using technetium-99??m neomannosyl human serum albumin ((99m)Tc-MSA), we developed a Gallium-68 ((68)Ga) MSA for positron emission tomography (PET). This study is the first clinical trial to evaluate the feasibility of sentinel node detection using this novel (68)Ga tracer for the management of non-small cell lung cancer.</P>

Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) such as gefitinib and erlotinib are effective against lung adenocarcinomas harboring epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations. However, cancer cells can develop resistance to these agents with prolonged ex-posure; in over 50% of cases, this is attributable to the EGFR T790M mutation. Moreover, additional resistance mutations can arise with the use of new drugs. Cancer cell lines with specific mutations can enable the study of resistance mechanisms. In this study, we introduced the EGFR T790M mutation into the PC9 human lung cancer cell line which has a deletion in exon 19 of the EGFR gene by the clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated (Cas)9-mediated genome editing. EGFR pyrosequencing revealed that PC9-EGFR T790M cell clones had a higher T790M muta-tion rate than PC9-G cells generated by long-term exposure to gefitinib; moreover, resistance in these clones was comparable to or higher than that in PC9-G cells. The clones were also highly sensitive to the 3rd-generation EGFR TKI (AZD9291), which is cytotoxic to lung cancer cells with EGFR T790M. The CRISPR/Cas9 programmable nuclease system can be used to generate various cancer cell lines with specific mutations that can facilitate studies on resistance mechanisms and drug efficacy.

유연 박막 태양전지 모듈은 유리 기판을 봉지재로 사용하는 기존의 결정질 실리콘 태양전지 모듈과는 달리 플라스틱 소재를 봉지재로 사용한다. 플라스틱 소재는 유리 기판에 비해 기밀 및 수밀 특성이 나쁘기 때문에 수분 침투에 의한 태양전지 모듈의 열화가 쉽게 발생한다. 그러나, 유연 박막 태양전지 모듈의 내열 내습 시험(Damp heat test)에 의한 고장 유형(Failure Mode)의 분석은 연구가 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 먼저, 기존의 상용 유연 박막 태양 전지 모듈의 장기 안정성을 내열 내습 시험으로 평가하였다. 이후, 이를 바탕으로 실제 유연 박막 태양전지 모듈을 제작하여 내열 내습 시험을 진행함으로써 고장 유형을 분석하고 개선 방안을 도출하였다.
