In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.

In order to obtain the prediction of the maximum dry density and the optimum moisture content of soil without soil moisture test, compaction test results from 157 different places either under construction or already completed were analyzed. The analyzed results were as follow The relationship between the maximum dry density and the optimum moisture content of the soil showing a correlation coefficient of 0.96 indicated that there was a high correlation between them. From the above relationship we obtained the equation. ◁그림 삽입▷ (원문을 참조하세요) Equation between the optimum moisture content and the maximum wet density of the soil was ◁그림 삽입▷(원문을 참조하세요), and the values of the optimum moisture content being predicted with the maximum wet density of the soil showed a little difference between those and tested values. The values of the maximum dry density being predicted with the moisture content estimated by the maximum wet density of the soil were within the range of ±5% of its tested values. This paper presents a fault location algorithm of a single phase-to-ground fault on a parallel transmission line which contains a teed circuit. The method uses only the local end voltage and current signals. Zero sequence currents of other lines are calculated by distribution factors. Instead of zero sequence current, negative sequence current is used to remove the effect to load current and to calculate the voltage of a fault resistance. There are two distance equations in this algorithm. One of them is to calculate inner part fault location of the tap distance and the other equation is for outer part fault location of the tap distance, Correct fault distance is selected by the condition of each solution. Extensive simulation studies using EMTP have verified that the proposed algorithm can calculate an accurate fault distance in spite of effects of various error sources.
Zn를 첨가한 고온초전도체 Y Pr Ba₂Cu₃O 의 Raman 분석

고온초전도제 Y Pr Ba₂Cu₃O 에 Zn를 첨가(x=0.00, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20)하여 전이온도 측정, X-ray회절 실험과 Raman 실험을 하였다. Raman 측정결과 다섯 개의 시료가 일반적인 YBCO 초천도체의 Raman 스펙트럼에서 존재하는 다섯 개의 대칭활성모드(115cm¹,150cm¹.340cm¹,440cm¹,504cm¹)가 관측되었다. 이것은 Cu 와 관련된 대칭활성모드의 주파수가 모두 저주파 변위를 나타내어 Zn가 Cu(1)과 Cu(2)에 치환되었음을 의미한다. 저주파 변위 정도는 Zn에 거의 무관했으나, Raman 스펙트럼의 각 피이크의 선폭은 치환된 Zn에 의해 증가했다. 이 결과는 Zn가 Cu자리에 어느 한계 이상은 치환되지 못하고 시료 내에서 불순물상을 형성함을 나타내는 것이다. We measured transition temperature, X-ray diffraction pattern and Raman spectra of Zn added(x=0.00, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20) high-T superconductor Y Pr Ba₂Cu₃O All samples have been observed five symmetric activity modes(115cm,150cm¹.340cm¹,440cm¹,504cm¹)which exist in Raman spectrum of general YBCO superconductor. This means Zn is substituted for Cu(1) and Cu(2) due to the fact that symmetric activity mode frequency related with Cu shows low-frequency shift. The degree of low-frequency shift was nearly independent on Zn but line width of Raman spectra peaks were increased by the substituted Zn. This results shows that Zn does not be substituted for Cu-site more than limit value and formes impurity phase in the sample.
정신분열병 환자에서 Olanzapine이 인지기능에 미치는 영향

Objects : The purpose of this study was to test the effects of olanzapine on cognitive functions in schizophrenic patients. Methods : The subjects were 16 haloperidol-medicated schizophrenic patients and 15 risperidone-medicated schizophrenic patients, who participated in an eight-week crossover study from haloperidol and risperidone to olanzapine. Results : The patients in the group of crossover from haloperidol to olanzapine showed significant improvement in Parkinson scale of ESRS and other cognitive functions except for verbal fluency. Negative scale of PANSS and cognitive functions such as verbal memory, verbal fluency, visual memory and executive function were significantly improved in patients In the group of crossover from risperidone to olanzapine. Conclusions : These data suggest that olanzapine has some superior cognitive benefits relative to haloperidol and risperidone, but a larger sample replication study is necessary.

Simplified Effective Compressive Strengths of Columns with Intervening Floor Slabs

The current design codes discuss the effective compressive strengths of columns, which reflect a decrease in load transfer performance that can occur when columns and slabs have different concrete compressive strengths. The effective compressive strength of a column increases as it is confined by the slab, and the design codes mandate three different effective compressive strengths for interior columns (confinement on four sides), exterior columns (confinement on three sides), and corner columns (confinement on two sides). For both corner and exterior columns, the confinement effect of the slab is significantly smaller than that for the interior column, and there is a more marked decrease in load transfer performance. However, there is still a lack of theoretical studies investigating the effective compressive strengths of the corner and exterior columns. Therefore, based on the analysis model established in previous research, this study has proposed an equation for calculating the effective compressive strengths of the corner, exterior and isolated columns without any confinement effects of the slab. In addition, axial loading tests of isolated columns were conducted and the proposed equation was verified.

This study was performed to predict some aspects of tidal currents and pollutant dispersion according to the facilities for seawater exchange in order to improve the water quality in Daeheuksando. A numerical simulation was executed, using the hydrodynamic module and advection dispersion module in MIKE 21 program. As a result of hydrodynamic simulation, it did not show change greatly in all cases. But, cutting part of Jungang-breakwater increased greatly than other area. When cut inside part in Jungang-breakwater, pollutant density of Yeri area decreased greatly by the ratio of 0.40 as compared with other cases. Also, dispersion extent diffused whole area of inside sea area of Daeheuksando. This case is the most effective for seawater exchange inside sea area of Jungang-breakwater.
