CNU O4-5 isolated from conventional Meju, which is used as raw material for making a soybean fermentation food, identified as an Aspergillus oryzae. To make koji, Aspergillus oryzae CNU O4-5 was cultured for 3-4 days at 30℃ with various grain materials such as flour, soybean powder, flour+soybean powder(1:1), soaked soybean and rice. The koji was evaluated for analyze the angiotesin converting enzyne(ACE) inhibition, antioxidative activity, superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity, amylase and protease activity, α-amylase and glucoamylase activities of flour koji wee higher than those of the koji soybean powder. However neutral and alkaline protease activities of flour koji were lower than those of flour+soybean powder and soybean koji. Amylase and protease activities of kojies of soaked soybean and rice showed very low level. The range of the ACE inhibition rate by hot water fraction of the kojies, which are cultured with various gain materials, were from 45% to 54%. The antioxidative activity of ethanol-fraction of koji, which is made by using the soybean powder or soaked soybean, prolonged for 6 days in lard at 60℃. The SOD activity of grinded fraction of koji, which is made by using the flour or soybean powder, was same as 2,000 units per g of each koji.

자기저항센서를 제작하기 위하여 Mo-permalloy(Ni:79.43%, Fe:14.47%, Mo:5.7%, Mn:0.38%, C:0.013%)를 슬라이드 그라스에 진공증착하여 sensor element를 제작한 후 포화자속밀도(B_(s)), 보자력(H_(c)), 자기이방성상수(K//), 자기저항변화율(ΔR/R)을 조사하였다. 진공증착된 permalloy 박막의 포화자속밀도는 0.746T 이었으며, 자화주파수 1kHz에서 보자력은 2.90A/cm(//),1.98A/cm(⊥) 이었고, 열처리 후에 1.79A/cm(//). 1.37A/cm(⊥)로 감소되었다. 한편 이 소자의 자기이방성상수는 1.38X10^(4)erg/cm^(3) 이었으며 5x1^(0-3)T의 자장변화에 대만 저항변화율(ΔR/R)은 2.0% 이었다. 앞으로 이 소자의 온도특성, 잡음특성 및 내열성 등을 조사하고자 한다. To fabricate magnetoresistive sensor, Mo-permalloy(Ni:79.43%, Fe:14.47%, Mo:5.7%, Mn:0.38%, C:0.013%) was evaporated on the slide glass. Saturation magnetic induction(B_(s)), coercive field strength(H_(a)), magnetic anisotropy constant(K), and magnetoresistance were measured for the fabricated samples. The evaporated samples show that saturation magnetic induction was 0.746T, and coercive field strengthes were 2,90A/cm(//) and 1.98A/cm(⊥), and this values were reduced to 1.79A/cm(//) and 1.37A/cm(⊥) respectively after annealing. For the measurement of coercive field strength, magnetizing frequency of 1kHz was used. For the fabricated sensor element, magnetic anisotropic constant was 1.38X10^(4)erg/cm^(3) and magneto-resistance change(ΔR/R) was 2.0% under the magnetic field change of 5X10^(-3)T, We will continue study on the characteristics for the temperature, heat resistance, and noise.

<P>We herein report on the large-scale synthesis of ultrathin Bi2Te3 nanoplates and subsequent spark plasma sintering to fabricate n-type nanostructured bulk thermoelectric materials. Bi2Te3 nanoplates were synthesized by the reaction between bismuth thiolate and tri-n-octylphosphine telluride in oleylamine. The thickness of the nanoplates was similar to 1 nm, which corresponds to a single layer in Bi2Te3 crystals. Bi2Te3 nanostructured bulk materials were prepared by sintering of surfactant-removed Bi2Te3 nanoplates using spark plasma sintering. We found that the grain size and density were strongly dependent on the sintering temperature, and we investigated the effect of the sintering temperature on the thermoelectric properties of the Bi2Te3 nanostructured bulk materials. The electrical conductivities increased with an increase in the sintering temperature, owing to the decreased interface density arising from the grain growth and densification. The Seebeck coefficients roughly decreased with an increase in the sintering temperature. Interestingly, the electron concentrations and mobilities strongly depended on the sintering temperature, suggesting the potential barrier scattering at interfaces and the doping effect of defects and organic residues. The thermal conductivities also increased with an increase in the sintering temperature because of grain growth and densification. The maximum thermoelectric figure-of-merit, ZT, is 0.62 at 400 K, which is one of the highest among the reported values of n-type nanostructured materials based on chemically synthesized nanoparticles. This increase in ZT shows the possibility of the preparation of highly efficient thermoelectric materials by chemical synthesis.</P>

As a part of environmental pollution prevention and resources recycling, the regeneration of waste tire has been largely contributed to national industry. But, the worker has been evaded this regeneration process by reason of the best mischievous process condition among 3D industries. So, the first, the process condition of regenerating waste tire was analyzed. The second, the equipment or system was developed for the improvement of working strength and environment. The relationship between the texture and mechanical properties of 6xxx aluminum alloy sheets processed via cross rolling was investigated. The microstructures of the conventional rolled and cross rolled sheets after annealing were analyzed using optical micrographs (OM). The texture distribution across the thickness in the Al-Mg-Si-Cu alloy, conventional rolled sheets, and cross rolled sheets both before and after annealing was investigated via X-ray texture measurements. The texture was analyzed in three layers from the surface to the center of the sheet. The β-fiber texture of the conventional rolled sheet was typical of the texture obtained using aluminumoll ring. After annealing, the typical β-fiber orientations were changed to recrystallization textures: cube{001}<100> and normal direction (ND)-rotated cubes. However, the texture of the cross rolled sheet was composed of an asymmetrical, rolling direction (RD)-rotated cubes. After annealing, the asymmetrical orientations in the cross rolled sheet were changed to a randomized texture. The average R-value of the annealed cross rolled sheets was higher than that of the conventional rolled sheets. The limit dome height (LDH) test results demonstrated that cross rolling is effective in improving the formability of the Al-Mg-Si-Cu alloy sheets.

Carbapenems such as imipenem are stable to most β-lactamases. Recently, increased numbers of carbapenemase producing Gram-negative bacterial strains have been isolated because of the increased use of cabapenems. In this respect, control of these infectious carbapenemase producing Gram-negative bacteria and understanding their resistance mechanism are becoming more important. These carbapenem-hydrolyzing β- lactamase genes have been reported to exist mostly as gene cassettes in an integron. This implies that antibiotic resistance genes may be transferred to other bacteria via the integron. In the present study, we identified and analyzed an integron containing VIM-2 type metallo-β-lactamase gene in a carbapenemase producing Pseudomonas aeruginosa. In addition, the possibility of resistance spread by integron located in a plasmid was tested. Among glucose non-fermenting Gram-negative bacilli with reduced imipenem susceptibility (MIC≥8 μg/ml) isolated from Korean patients, P. aeruginosa 1082 showed resistance to most β-lactams, cephalosporin, and aminoglycoside. We found that P. aeruginosa 1082 was inhibited by EDTA in EDTA double disk synergy test which means that this strain produces metallo-β-lactamase. Class 1 integron containing blaVIM-2 (carbapenem resistance gene), qacF (quaternary ammonium compound resistance gene), aacA4 (aminoglycoside resistance gene), catB3 (chloramphenicol resistance gene), blaOXA-30 (extended-spectrum β- lactam resistance gene), and aadA1 (aminoglycoside resistance gene) gene cassettes was detected in P. aeruginosa 1082. The size of the integron was 5,246 bp and the structure and arrangement of the integron was a novel one in comparison with other integrons found in other P. aeruginosa. The integron could be transferred to Escherichia coli JM109 from P. aeruginosa 1082 possibly via self-transferable plasmid DNA. The integron and a blaVIM-2 gene were detected in the plasmid DNA of the transconjugants whose imipenem resistance was slightly increased as a result of accepting the integron from the donor strain.
The Influence of Free Agent on the Performance of Korean Professional Baseball Players

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify and compare the performance change of Korean professional baseball players before and after the Free Agent(FA) contract. Controversial discussions have been made about the efficiency of the FA. Thus an exploratory research examining the player performance is necessary in order to provide statistical evidence concerning this matter. Method: In order to achieve the research goal, samples were collected from the Korean Baseball Organization(KBO)`s publication ``KBO yearbook``. 78 individual players` records consisting of 54 batters and 24 pitchers were collected. Reflecting the latest updated data from the season of 2000(when the FA system was first applied) to the season of 2010 was used to compare 3 seasons previous of the FA and after the FA. Samples were analyzed by using batters` OPS and pitchers` WHIP indexes. OPS and WHIP records was statistically processed with paired t-test including test of normality. Result: Among 54 batters with FA exempting the injured and retired players a total of 48 players` OPS of the first season before and after the FA tested to indicate performance change. 42 players` OPS of the second season before and after the FA also showed similar results. Comparing the third season with 3 seasons previous of the FA 35 players have shown performance change. Especially batter`s OPS of the first season before and after the FA changed more than the other cases. Within 24 pitchers exempting the injured and the retired players a total of 14 pitchers` WHIP has presented significant performance change during the first season after the FA compared to the season before the FA. However second and third season records have shown no significant performance change. Conclusion: The results suggest that with the FA as a standard, comparing OPS and WHIP before and after the FA presented performance change. Among batters all 3 seasons before and after the FA have shown differences. On the other hand pitchers performance has only been observed in the first year after the FA compared to the season before the FA. The results of the performance change is only a phenomenological analysis, so it must not be interpreted as an absolute standard. Detailed further research concerning with the issue of the FA is suggested.

In the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) elicit a highly conserved ER stress response called the unfolded protein response (UPR). Accumulation of misfolded proteins elicits signals by three types of ER stress sensor/transducer in mammal. Among them, ATF6 is a type II transmembrane protein normally retained in the ER. In this study, we have identified two membrane-associated basic domain/leucine zipper (bZIP) factors AtbZIP17 and AtbZIP28 in Arabidopsis thaliana as candidates for ER stress sensors/transducers similar to mammalian ATF6. AtbZIP17 and AtbZIP28 have N-terminal bZIP domain, a transmembrane segment, respectively. Truncated forms of AtbZIP17 and AtbZIP28 lacking the C-terminal domain were overexpressed in Arabidopsis. AtbZIP17 and AtbZIP28 overexpressed Arabidopsis showed upregulated the expression of ER chaperone genes in the absence of stress conditions. Interestingly, they growed bigger and more vigorously than WT in normal growth condition. Under stress conditions, AtbZIP17 and AtbZIP28 overexpression plants showed enhanced stress tolerance compare with that of WT plants. These results suggest that AtbZIP17 and AtbZIP28 function as sensor/transducer in Arabidopsis to mediate ER stress response related to UPR. [Supported by EB-NCRC & BK21 program]

Environmental or physiological influences that induce accumulation of unfolded proteins in the lumen of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) cause ER stress and activate signaling pathway called unfolded protein response (UPR). An ER-located transmembrane receptor protein kinase/ribonuclease called Ire1 plays an essential role in the UPR in yeasts and mammals. However, it has been unclear whether a similar mechanism is applicable to Arabidopsis. To elucidate the role of Arabidopsis IRE1, we performed functional analyses by isolating loss-of-function mutants of IRE1A and IRE1B. We found that a double mutant of Arabidopsis IRE1A and IRE1B (ire1a/ire1b) is more sensitive to the ER stress inducer tunicamycin than the wild-type. ire1a/ire1b result in a delayed induction of BiP3 which is well known ER chaperone by DTT treatment, whereas induction of BiP1 in ire1a/ire1b was similar with that of WT. Our result indicate that IRE1A and IRE1B are implicated in unfolded protein response signaling in plants.
