In this study, through the combined effort and collaboration of 8 engineering education departments, teaching-learning processes and models were reviewed, and printed and bound student manuals developed on 120 different tasks and subjects. Audio-visual supportive material, already in use in laboratories, was added to form a complete teaching-learning package. In addition to promoting the maximum use of the newly acquired equipment, this study will also contribute to the development of laboratory practice, the in-service training of technical high schools teachers and help in the development of their own instructional program.

From August 1985 to July 1987, 220 patients who received hysteroscopy were evaluated in order to assess the diagnostic and therapeutic efficacy of hysteroscopy. The patients comprised of those with infertility(51;22.6%), menstrual disorders(23;10.2%), abnormal uterine bleeding(74;32.7%), intrauterine adhesion(57;25.2%), habitual abortion(18;8%), or loss of intrauterine device(3;1.3%). The hysteroscope used was WOLF 25˚ rigid scope. The uterine adhesion was graded according to the classification of K. Wamsteker. General anesthesia with mask ventilation and CO2 for distension media were used for most cases. Age of the patients ranged from 23 to 64 years with the mean being 34.8. Hysteroscopic findings revealed intrauterine adhesions, normal uterine cavity, submucous myoma, thick endometrium, septate uterus, endocervical polyp, retained placental tissue, hemorrhagic endometrium, endometrial polyp, IUD in situ, atrophic endometrium, and endometrial carcinoma, in decreasing order of incidence. In 87 patients, intrauterine adhesion was thus diagnosed and their treatment included none, lysis of adhesion, lysis and IUD insertion, and lysis with IUD and hormone therapy. Subsequent follow up of these patients revealed restoration of fertility in 13. The efficacy of hysteroscopy, with the potential of a safe office procedure, seem to lie in its ability to allow direct visualization of uterine cavity, directed biopsy, removal of intrauterine foreign bodies, and concurrent lysis of intrauterine adhesions.

Purpose: We have evaluated the characteristics of perimenopausal women in Korea, by the age of menopause, climacteric symptoms, bone mineral density, biochemical bone markers and lipid profiles. Methods: There is 233 perimenopausal women who are divided into four groups (Group Ⅰ, Group Ⅱ, Group Ⅲ, Group Ⅳ) by age. The age distributions of Group Ⅰare below 50 years old. Those of Group Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ are 51∼55 years old, 56∼60 years old and above 61 years old. We asked them for their climacteric symptoms and we checked them for the bone mineral density, biochemical bone markers and lipid profiles. Results : 1) The mean age of menopause is 48.3±4.1 years old. 2) The common symptoms of the Korean perimenopausal women were backache, arthralgia, hot flashing and urinary frequency in order of frequency. 3) The bone mineral densities of climacteric women were significantly decreased by increasing age. 4) The serum alkaline phosphatase among biochemical markers of bone turnover was significantly increasing state by increasing age. 5) The levels of serum total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol and triglycerides were increasing tendency, but HDL-cholesterol was decreasing tendency by increasing age. 6) There are no variation by increasing age in the serum total calcium and serum uric acid. Conclusions: Increasing age had a great effect on bone mineral loss and lipid profiles in the climacteric women.
Policy and status of light pollution management in Korea

<P>Light pollution is emerging as one of the most rapidly increasing types of environmental degradation. Many localities have developed regulations to constrain the use of excessive light. Recently, the government of Korea has enacted and executed the ‘Light Pollution Prevention Act’ for the proper management of light pollution. This paper reviews the background and the main contents of the Act as well as the current status of light pollution in Korea. By this Act, a ‘Light Pollution Prevention Committee’ is established and the designation of environmental zones and the light emission standards for these zones are given. The contents of this study will be useful as a guideline for developing countries preparing light pollution management plans.</P>

The present report describes the case of a woman scheduled to undergo gamete intra-fallopian transfer(GIFT), but who was found to have ovulated at the time of laparoscopy. She became pregnant following intra-tubal insemination and the value and limitations of such a procedure are discribed.

기존에 하이브리드 자동차에 전동기는 레졸버등의 위치센서를 사용하여 제어를 하는데 안전성의 문제로 위치센서가 고장이 발생하게되면 센서없이 모터를 제어하는 방법이 연구되고 있다. 중고속 영역에는 모터의 전압모델을 사용하는 센서리스 방법이 주로 사용되는데 저속과 정지 상태에서는 모터 역기전력의 크기가 작아서 사용하기 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 방법보다 비교적 간단한 저속역역 센서리스 방법을 소개하고 이 방법의 문제의 해결방안을 제시하고 시험을 통하여 이를 검증하였다.
