Verification of the Causal Relationship between Paradoxical Leadership and Innovative Performance ―The Serial Multiple Mediating Effect of Psychological Empowerment and Job Engagement―

        JINXIU,경성림,두찌아싱 전남대학교 지역개발연구소 2023 지역개발연구 Vol.55 No.1

Paradoxical leadership is a new leadership style that integrates balance and coordinates environmental changes differently from the traditional leadership style. In particular, in the current situation where innovation performance is important due to uncertainty about the future, it is necessary to demonstrate the causal relationship between paradoxical leadership and innovative performance. In order to specifically identify the process in which paradoxical leadership influences innovative performance, this study attempted to verify psychological empowerment and job engagement via serial multiple mediating effects. In order to verify the hypotheses presented in this study, a survey was conducted on employees who work in Chinese SMEs, and data from a total of 269 employees were used for empirical analysis. A measurement tool whose validity has already been secured in previous studies was applied to measure variables. For the empirical analysis, Hayes' SPSS PROCESS MACRO was used. According to the results of this research, the theoretical and practical implications were presented. By verifying paradoxical leadership effectiveness in the Chinese organizational context, new roles and influences of paradoxical leadership were revealed. Finally, actual utilization plans were presented in organizations and the direction for future research was discussed.

Diversity and Antifungal Activity of Endophytic Fungi Associated with Camellia oleifera

        ( Jinxiu Yu ),( Ying Wu ),( Zhen He ),( Mi Li ),( Kaiming Zhu ),( Bida Gao ) 한국균학회 2018 Mycobiology Vol.46 No.2

Endophytic fungi strains (n¼81) were isolated from the leaves, barks, and fruits of Camellia oleifera from Hunan province (China) to delineate their species composition and potential as biological control agents of C. oleifera anthracnose. The fungi were identified by morphological and phylogenetic analyses. Fungal colonization rates of the leaves, barks, and fruits were 58.02, 27.16, and 14.81%, respectively. The isolates were identified as 14 genera, belonging to two subdivisions, Deuteromycotina and Ascomycotina; 87.65% of all isolates belonged to Deuteromycotina. The dominant species, occurring with a high relative frequency, were Pestalotiopsis sp. (14.81%), Penicillium sp. (14.81%), and Fusarium sp. (12.35%). The Simpson’s and Shannon’s diversity indices revealed the highest species diversity in the leaves, followed by the barks and fruits. The similarity index for the leaves versus barks comparison was the highest, indicating that the number of endophytic fungal species shared by the leaves and barks was higher than barks and fruits or leaves and fruits. Based on the results of dual culture experiments, only five strains exhibited antifungal activity against C. oleifera anthracnose pathogen, with isolate ty-64 (Oidium sp.) generating the broadest inhibition zones. Our results indicate that the endophytes associated with C. oleifera could be employed as natural agents controlling C. oleifera anthracnose.

        Hou Jinxiu,Wang Bo,Li Jing,Liu Wenbo 대한약리학회 2024 The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology Vol.28 No.3

Ferroptosis is a novel mechanism of programmed cell death, characterized by intracellular iron overload, intensified lipid peroxidation, and abnormal accumulation of reactive oxygen species, which ultimately resulting in cell membrane impairment and demise. Research has revealed that cancer cells exhibit a greater demand for iron compared to normal cells, indicating a potential susceptibility of cancer cells to ferroptosis. Stomach and colorectal cancers are common gastrointestinal malignancies, and their elevated occurrence and mortality rates render them a global health concern. Despite significant advancements in medical treatments, certain unfavorable consequences and drug resistance persist. Consequently, directing attention towards the phenomenon of ferroptosis in gastric and colorectal cancers holds promise for enhancing therapeutic efficacy. This review aims to elucidate the intricate cellular metabolism associated with ferroptosis, encompassing lipid and amino acid metabolism, as well as iron metabolic processes. Furthermore, the significance of ferroptosis in the context of gastric and colorectal cancer is thoroughly examined and discussed.

The Relationship between Paradoxical Leadership and Job Engagement: The Moderated Mediation Role of the Perceived Organizational Learning Culture

        두찌아싱,JINXIU 한국생산성학회 2023 生産性論集 Vol.37 No.1

In recent years, paradoxical leadership as a new leadership style has attracted the attention of many researchers. Especially in the context of the Chinese organization pursuing change, paradoxical leadership has played an important role in dealing with different types of conflicts and contradictions, and its importance has become increasingly prominent. On this basis, this study specifically identified the role of paradoxical leadership in Chinese organizations and focused on testing this role. Generally, to verify the influence of paradoxical leadership, this study tested whether paradoxical leaders can influence the degree of members’ job engagement. The core reason for focusing on job engagement is that it is an important variable that can directly promote individual and organizational performance, and the importance of job engagement is also emphasized in China’s domestic organizations. Specifically, in order to understand more specifically the process by which paradoxical leadership affects job engagement, this study verified the mediating effect of psychological empowerment and the moderated mediation effect of perceived organizational learning culture. In order to verify hypotheses, a questionnaire survey of members engaged in Chinese small and medium-sized enterprises was conducted, with a total of 278 questionnaires collected for this study empirical analysis. In the results of the empirical analysis, paradoxical leadership showed a positive affect on members’ psychological empowerment and job engagement. In addition, a positive affect of psychological empowerment on job engagement was also found, with a partial mediation effect in the relationship between paradoxical leadership and job engagement. Moreover, in the relationship between psychological empowerment and job engagement, an perceived organizational learning culture also shows a significant moderating effect, and the moderated mediation effect of an perceived organizational learning culture is also significant. In general, this study differs from previous studies that focus on paradoxical leadership because here paradoxical leadership is studied as a key variable to improve job engagement. In addition, the present study puts forward a scheme to improve job engagement, and introduces a moderated mediation model, not just to test the moderating effect or mediation effect but to test both at the same time. Therefore, this study makes a contribution to the expansion of research related to paradoxical leadership and job engagement. Finally, based on the results here, we suggested future directions for follow-up research.

In the context of organizational culture in China, responsible leadership is emphasized as a key variable guiding organizational members towards positive attitudes and behaviors regarding the organization. This study reveals the growth process of green innovation performance in Chinese resource-based enterprises and proposes ways to promote green innovation performance. By collecting and analyzing 441 employee questionnaire data from Chinese resource-based enterprises through confirmatory factor analysis and multiple linear regression analysis, this research attempts to explore the specific path mechanism by which responsible leadership behavior triggers green innovation performance. The results indicate that responsible leadership behavior leads to an increase in employees’ green behaviors, which in turn positively affects green innovation performance. Moreover, the positive impact of responsible leadership on employees’ green behaviors is moderated by the ethical climate, with a higher level of ethical climate control intensifying the influence of responsible leadership on employees’ green behaviors. Employees’ green behaviors and the ethical climate serve as a mediating variable and a moderating variable, respectively, constructing the path mechanism through which responsible leadership affects green innovation performance. The results show that responsible leadership has a positive impact on green innovation performance. Although the importance of responsible leadership and green innovation performance is increasingly recognized in Chinese resource-based enterprises, empirical research verifying the causal relationship between responsible leadership and green innovation performance is still insufficient. Based on this, this study attempts to clarify this causal relationship.

The Impact of Job Anxiety Caused by Artificial Intelligence Substitution on Organizational Members’Turnover Intention: The Mediating Role of Job Insecurity and the Moderating Effect of Job Uncertainty

        정자안,JINXIU 한국생산성학회 2024 生産性論集 Vol.38 No.3

Artificial intelligence (AI) represents a significant technological leap within the hotel industry, promising to revolutionize various aspects of operations. However, its full impact remains uncertain, particularly its effect on the workforce. One notable consequence is the potential erosion of employees' expertise, which often leads to heightened levels of anxiety. As AI takes over tasks traditionally performed by humans, employees may feel sidelined or redundant, uncertain about their future within the organization. This anxiety, in turn, can catalyze turnover intentions, as employees grapple with uncertainties about their roles and career prospects. Recognizing the importance of understanding these dynamics, this paper aims to delve into the intricate relationship between AI adoption, job anxiety, job insecurity, job uncertainty, and turnover intention in the context of hotel employment. By examining how AI implementation influences employee well-being, this study seeks to provide valuable insights for both industry practitioners and policymakers. Based on theories of anxiety and coping, this study constructs a comprehensive framework to assess the impact of AI implementation on employee well-being. Leveraging survey data from a diverse pool of 608 hotel employees, the research examines how organizational adoption of AI influences job anxiety levels and subsequent turnover intentions. The statistical analyses reveal compelling insights into the interplay between AI and employee turnover intentions. Key findings indicate that the introduction of artificial intelligence indeed shapes employees' intentions to leave their jobs. Notably, job anxiety induced by AI substitution emerges as a significant predictor of turnover intention, underscoring the psychological strain experienced by employees amidst technological advancements. Furthermore, the study unveils the mediating role of job insecurity, wherein heightened anxiety precipitates feelings of job instability, subsequently fueling turnover intentions. As AI continues to permeate the hotel industry, understanding and addressing these workforce dynamics will be crucial for maintaining employee morale and organizational stability in the face of technological change.

        주링펑,JINXIU 한국생산성학회 2023 生産性論集 Vol.37 No.2

The COVID-19 pandemic has presented significant psychological challenges for healthcare workers in healthcare facilities. In particular, medical workers have to perform various tasks such as long-term contact with infected patients and epidemic prevention work, which can impact their psychological well-being making it difficult for them to maintain a high level of well-being. According to such a background, it is worth ex-ploring which factors have negative impacts on the level of psychological well-being, and it is important to re-veal the process behind this reduced psychological well-being. Therefore, this study focused on the main ele-ments affecting medical workers’ psychological well-being, such as relationship conflict, and aimed to identify the causal relationship between relationship conflict and psychological well-being. Furthermore, this study iden-tified and demonstrated the mediating role of job stress in the relationship between relationship conflict and psychological well-being. Additionally, the moderating effect of task conflict was examined on relationship conflict and psychological well-being, and the moderated mediation effect of task conflict was also examined. We surveyed 259 medical workers from Chinese medical institutions. The results showed that relationship conflict had a positive effect on work stress among healthcare workers. However, relationship conflict did not have a significant effect on the psychological well-being of healthcare workers. Work stress had a neg-ative effect on the psychological well-being of healthcare workers. The task conflict did not significantly moderate the effect of relationship conflict on psychological well-being, and the moderated mediation effect of task conflict was not significant. Overall, this study focused on exploring and verifying variables that lower the level of psychological well-being among healthcare workers and proposed methods to improve their psychological well-being. Specifically, this study differs from previous research by not focusing on methods to improve psychological well-being in the context of Chinese healthcare institutions, but rather exploring negative variables that lower psychological well-being and verifying the process behind the reduced psychological well-being. Finally, by revealing the process behind the reduced psychological well-being, our research makes a valuable con-tribution to the field of psychological well-being.
