        저주파수 및 저입력전압용 박막형 다중접합 열전변환기

        저주파수의 저전압용 크로멜-알루멜 다중접합 열전변환기를 개발하고자 NiCr 히터의 두께를400 nm, 600 nm 및 800 nm로 변화시켰다. 40 Hz∼10 kHz의 직류 역방향 주파수 범위로 0.5 V의 교류 실효전압을 열전변환기에 인가시켰을 때 히터의 두께가 400 nm인 열전변환기가 ±0.51∼±1.69 ppm 범위의 열전효과에 의한 교류-직류 전압 변환오차를 나타내었고, 열전효과 및 주파수에 의한 교류-직류 변환오차는 40 Hz∼l MHz의 주파수 범위에서 ±40∼±115 ppm 범위를 나타내어, 저주파수의 저전압용으로 사용할 수 있었다. NiCr-heaters with three different thicknesses ranging from 400 nm to 800 nm were fabricated and their characteristics were compared for the purpose of developing a chromel-alumel multijunction thermal converter for low input voltage with low frequency. The thermoelectric effect-induced AC-DC voltage transfer difference of the thermal converter with a built-in NiCr-heater of 400 nm-thickness was ±0.51∼±1.69 ppm in the DC reversing frequency of 40 Hz∼10 kHz with appling 0.5 V_rms and the difference was increased to ±40∼±115 ppm in the frequency of 40 Hz~l MHz, when both thermoelectric effects and frequency effects were considered, showing the thermal converter would be suitable for the low input voltage application with low frequency.

        In currency crisis(IMF relief loan), the construction industry has prepared a foundation for existence by taking such desperate countermeasure as reducing a lot of construction companies and readjusting the their structure. Even though a number of employee of construction industry came to a million in 1996, it reduced to 980 thousand in 1997 and 710 thousand in 1998. After 1998, there was the trend about reducing a number of employee every year. The final goals of this study have inquired into the current situation of manpower supply and demand per region, compared and analyzed the circumstance of manpower supply and demand, and utilized references in decision-making between construction companies and students.

        Prevalence and Implications of Bone Marrow Involvement in Patients with Gastric Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue Lymphoma

        Background/Aims: Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma of the stomach is an uncommon disease. Bone marrow involvement is reported even in patients with only a mucosal lesion. We evaluated the prevalence and risk factors of marrow involvement and its implications for diagnosis and treatment. Methods: In total, 132 patients who were diagnosed with gastric MALT lymphoma at the National Cancer Center in Korea between January 2001 and December 2016 were enrolled in the study. The patient data were collected and analyzed retrospectively. Results: Of the 132 patients, 47 (35.6%) were male, with a median age of 52 years (range, 17 to 81 years). The median follow-up duration was 48.8 months (range, 0.5 to 169.9 months). Helicobacter pylori infection was detected in 82 patients (62.1%). Most patients (80.3%) had stage IE1 according to the modified Ann Arbor staging system. Ninety-two patients underwent bone marrow evaluation, and four patients (4.3%) had marrow involvement. Of these patients, one presented with abdominal lymph node involvement, while the other three had stage IE1 disease if marrow involvement was disregarded. All three patients had no significant symptoms and were monitored after local treatment without evidence of disease aggravation. Conclusions: Bone marrow involvement was found in 4.3% of the patients with gastric MALT lymphoma. Bone marrow examination may be deferred because marrow involvement does not change the treatment options or outcome in gastric MALT lymphoma confined to the stomach wall. (Gut Liver 2018;12:278-287)

        The New Village (Sae-ma-eul) movement is Korean version of Community Development that has under-gone widespread exploration, experimentation and application in developing countries throughout the world in recent years. In most countries the national governments have undertaken the iniative in Community Development through appropriate ministries or special agencies. The New Village Movement was initiated in 1970 by Korean government. But it became a people's movement for self-development as more and more people participated in the developmental programs. The major objectives of the New Village movement are to redress the economic disparities between the rural and urban areas by improving the economic, social and cultural conditions of rural Communities, to reform the way of life in rural villages by encouraging the attitude of self-help, and to increase the income of the farmers and fisher man. Since 1971, An enormous amount of public and priate money has been invested into the New Village Movement. It seems that the time has arrived when some framework for evaluating the whole program is to be developed. Thus, The objective of this study is to develop an appropriate to evaluate the new village project at the village level.       • 성인에서 발견된 Nesidioblastosis 2예

        Nesidioblastosis는 영아기의 고인슐린성 저혈당의 원인으로는 흔하지만 성인에서는 매우 드문 질환으로 되어 있다. Nesidioblastosis의 병리학적 특징은 췌장 전반에 다초점성 소관도 증식(multifocal ductuloinsular proliferation)을 보이는 것이다. 저자들은 반복되는 의식 소실과 전신 쇠약감, 두통 등을 보인 환자에서 수술 후 병리조직 소견상 Nesidioblastosis로 진단된 2예를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. Although nesidioblastosis can be found frequently in neonates with hypoglycemia, it is regarded as an extremely rare entity that causes hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia in adult. Pathologic characteristics can be described as multifocal hyperplasia of all pancreatic islet cells and their disorganization with proliferation throughout the entire pancreas. We experienced two cases of nesidioblastosis which caused hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia in adult. Two female patients(49-year old and 58-year old) were admitted due to persistent hypoglycemic symptoms. Hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia was documented by fasting blood sugar/insulin ratio. We performed ultrasonography. CT scan, angiography and percutaneous portal venous sampling in the first case. Radiologic imaging studies could not reveal definite mass lesion in pancreas, but insulin gradient in portal vein indicated possible insulinoma to rated between body and head of pancreas. The intraoperative ultrasonography and manual palpation, however, did not reveal any mass lesion. Near tonal pancreatectomy was done and pathologic specimen was confirmed to nesidioblastosis. In the second case, angiography revealed hypervascular mass which looked like lesion in pancreatic body, so we did not perform further studios including percutaneons portal venous sampling and calcium infusion angiography. But surgical exploration inculding intraoperative ultrasonography did not reveal any mass lesion. Subtotal pancreatectomy was done and pathologic specimen was also confirmed to nesidioblastosis.

        A Neonatal Form of Alexander Disease Presented with Intractable Seizures and Obstructive Hydrocephalus

        Alexander disease is a rare degenerative leukodystrophy caused by dominant mutations in glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP). The neonatal form of Alexander disease may manifest as frequent and intractable seizures or obstructive hydrocephalus,with rapid progression leading to severe disability or death within two years. We report a case of a 50-day-old male who presented with intractable seizures and obstructive hydrocephalus. His initial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suggested a tumor-like lesion in the tectal area causing obstructive hydrocephalus. Despite endoscopic third ventriculostomy and multiple administrations of antiepileptic drugs, the patient experienced intractable seizures with rapid deterioration of his clinical status. After reviewing serial brain MRI scans, Alexander disease was suspected. Subsequently, we confirmed the de novo missense mutation in GFAP (c.1096T>C, Y366H). Although the onset was slightly delayed from the neonatal period (50 days old), we concluded that the overall clinical features were consistent with the neonatal form of Alexander disease. Furthermore, we also suspected that a Y366 residue might be closely linked to the neonatal form of Alexander disease based on a literature review.

      • A remotely steerable Janus micromotor adsorbent for the active remediation of Cs-contaminated water

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>We report the development of magnetically steerable self-propelled micromotors that selectively remove radioactive Cs from contaminated water. Mesoporous silica microspheres were functionalized with the highly Cs-selective copper ferrocyanide, and half of the adsorptive particle surface was then coated with ferromagnetic Ni and catalytic Pt layers to fabricate Janus micromotors. The micromotor adsorbent displayed random propulsion in an H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB> solution via catalytic bubble evolution from the Pt surface, and the micromotor adsorbent self-propulsion resulted in an 8-fold higher Cs removal compared to the stationary adsorbent within one hour. The ferromagnetism of the Ni layer allowed the micromotor adsorbent to be magnetically and remotely steerable, and the propulsion speed under a magnetic field was ˜11-fold greater than it was in the absence of the magnetophoretic force. The adsorption of Cs by the self-propelling micromotor adsorbent and the subsequent magnetic recovery of the adsorbent enabled the successful removal of radioactive <SUP>137</SUP>Cs from aqueous solutions. More than 98% of the radioactive <SUP>137</SUP>Cs ions were removed from solution, even in the presence of competing ions, such as Na<SUP>+</SUP> (1000 ppm).</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Self-propelled micromotor adsorbent was developed for selective adsorption of radioactive Cs. </LI> <LI> The random movement of the micromotor adsorbent significantly reduced the Cs cleanup time. </LI> <LI> The micromotor adsorbent was remotely steerable and collectable using a magnetic field. </LI> <LI> More than 98% of the radioactive <SUP>137</SUP>Cs ions were removed from solution containing competing ions. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
