The fad word ``Eu-ri`` has swept across Korea last year. ``Eu-ri`` has been originally used by actor Bo-sung Kim SInce long time ago, but comedian Kuk-ju Lee adapted the fad word at a gag program. Many commercial films are based on the fad word ``Eu-ri`` nowadays. But Bo-sung Kim gets a lot of chances to take a commercial film, although Kuk-ju Lee did an important role on the popularity of the fad word ``Eu-ri``. Besides, Bo-sung Kim doesn``t use the fad word like he has used till now, but borrows Kuk-ju Lee``s style. After focusing on the fact that Lee parodied Kim``s fad word and Kim took many commercial films due to the popularity of the fad word made by Lee, each facts are analyzed from the aspects of each law. From the Copyright Law``s View, copyright cannot be recognized on the fad word ``Eu-ri`` itself. It is required to attain the high extent of creativity to have the valid copyright under the Continental Law system. But fad words, which are too short to contain any value in the usage, barely are recognized to attain copyright. No problem arise from the aspect of demonstration imitation either. Intangible imitation is not acknowledged at Korea. Lee``s parody and Kim``s act on commercial films are also their own demonstration. Besides, the fact that ordinary people might not confuse between Kim and Lee can also be considered, as well as Lee``s creative effort is reflected on the parody. From the Publicity Right``s view. Lee and Kim doesn``t seem to infringe each other``s right. Because not only parody only take a little possession of whole performance but also it IS hard to say that the value is diluted due to repeated exposure. From the Unfair Competition Prevention and Trade Secret Protection Act``s view, Kim``s decision to take commercial films might cause problems. Lee``s parody on the gag program doesn``t consist the competition between Kim. But Kim``s acting similar character with Lee on commercial films might cause unfair competition. Especially, according to the general article which is introduced February 2014, taking commercial film can be categorized as one part of celebrity``s business, and Kim``s taking commercial films can be seem as hijacking a popularity of Lee``s comedy. Taking economic benefit by imitating celebrity``s performance is becoming a serious problem in Korea. Other than Kim``s episode, radio advertisement which imitates fad word was pointed out to infringe celebrity``s right. Adopting the logic which is similar to overtaking right can be also considered as a good method to protect celbrity``s right about their performance.

A Study on the Relationship between Employment Period and Organizational Satisfaction of Indefinite-Term Contract Workers in Governments: Focusing on Indefinite-Term Contract Worker at the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service

Purpose: The primary purpose of this study is to empirically validate the relationship between the employment period and the organizational satisfaction of the indefinite term contract workers of the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service, which is an agency operating under the auspices of the Ministry of Agri-culture, Food and Rural Affairs. Meanwhile, studies on the organizational satisfaction in Korea have focused on public servants or employees of general companies, and the purpose lies with recognizing that there is a lack of studies which statistically validate the relationship between the employment period and the organizational satis-faction of indefinite term contract workers, and making contribution to the improvement of the organizational satisfaction of indefinite term contract workers. Method: The National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service utilized the results of the 2020 or-ganizational satisfaction survey conducted by Hyundai Research for indefinite term contract workers, and the or-ganizational satisfaction was measured with the average value of all questions of job satisfaction, organizational commitment, organizational communication, fair evaluation and compensation, and by making reference to previous studies, a hypothesis was established that “the number of years of continued service of indefinite term contract workers of the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service will have a positive (+) effect on the organizational satisfaction”. Results: As a result of the analysis performed of this study, the correlation between the dependent variable for the independent variable (employment period) turned out to have a correlation of approximately -0.218. while the employment period has an effect on the organizational satisfaction, it has a negative (-) effect rather than a positive (+) effect as hypothesized, which suggests that the longer the number of years of continued service, the lower the organizational satisfaction, and which also suggests that the satisfaction with organization is not simp-ly increased by the mission of job and job performance satisfaction which arises the longer one serves for the organization. Conclusion: The average score of overall job satisfaction excluding the employment period turned out to yield a lower average score for the organizational commitment, communication, and fairness of evaluation and com-pensation. However, as a result of analyzing the organizational satisfaction of the indefinite term contract workers of the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service by the section of employment period, it was verified that the organizational commitment and communication and the fair evaluation and compensation were even more correlated with the organizational satisfaction than the job satisfaction such as satisfaction of job and workload.

Growth of Sheet-like ZnO Nanostructures on ZnO nano rods using Chemical Bath Deposition

We demonstrate the growth of a sheet-like ZnO membrane on ZnO nano rod layers. The growth process is composed of 3 steps of ZnO seed formation, ZnO nano rod growth and sheet-like ZnO membrane formation on those nano rods. To confirm the fundamental growth mechanism, the lattice structures of each step were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) measurement. Analysis of the relation between the texture coefficient and the surface shape of the ZnO membrane on the ZnO nano rods shows that the surface morphology of ZnO nano structures can be controlled using the temperature of the growing solution and the concentration of the chemical solution.

Serial line multiplexing method based on bipolar pulse for PET

Although the individual channel readout method can improve the performance of PET detectors with pixelated photo-sensors, such as silicon photomultiplier (SiPM), this method leads to a significant increase in the number of readout channels. In this study, we proposed a novel multiplexing method that could effectively reduce the number of readout channels to reduce system complexity and development cost. The proposed multiplexing circuit was designed to generate bipolar pulses with different zero-crossing points by adjusting the time constant of the high-pass filter connected to each channel of a pixelated photo-sensor. The channel position of the detected gamma-ray was identified by estimating the width between the rising edge and the zero-crossing point of the bipolar pulse. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed multiplexing circuit, four detector blocks, each consisting of a 4 × 4 array of 3 mm × 3 mm × 20 mm LYSO and a 4 × 4 SiPM array, were constructed. The average energy resolution was 13.2 ± 1.1% for all 64 crystal pixels and each pixel position was accurately identified. A coincidence timing resolution was 580 ± 12 ps. The experimental results indicated that the novel multiplexing method proposed in this study is able to effectively reduce the number of readout channels while maintaining accurate position identification with good energy and timing performance. In addition, it could be useful for the development of PET systems consisting of a large number of pixelated detectors.

The Success Factors and Ripple Effects of Korean Dramas in China

2016년 2월 한국 드라마 “태양의 후예”가 중국 인터넷 동영상 사이트 iQiyi에 한국 드라마 역사상 최고가인 회당 23만 달러에 수출되었다. 이와같은 인기의 발판은 “별에서 온 그대”가 없었다면 불가능한 일이다. “별에서 온 그대 신드롬” 은 한국 드라마의 대폭적인 수출 가격 향상과 한류의 새 지평을 여는 데 크게 일조하였다. “별에서 온 그대” 마지막 회 시청조회 수는 2억 회를 넘었고, 역사상 바이두 지수(실시간 검색 횟수) 또한 처음으로 400만 회를 넘었다. 그리고 2016년 현재 중국 동영상 사이트 조회수는 무려 50억 회에 달하고 있다. 이에 본고에서는 “태양의 후예”의 큰 인기에 가장 지대한 영향을 미친 “별에서 온 그대”의 중국에서의 성공 요인과 그 파급 효과에 대하여 문화적, 경제적 측면에서 심도 있게 분석하였다. 분석의 결과, 첫째, 시진핑주석 부부를 비롯한 중국 오피니언 리더들의 자발적인 “별그대” 홍보 효과. 둘째, 한국드라마가 경쟁력 있는 청춘드라마에 시공초월극(穿越剧), 공상과학극(科幻剧), 범죄극, 희극, 역사극 등의 다양한 요소의 융합. 셋째, 고금을 반복적으로 교차하는 다큐멘터리 스타일의 신선한 서사 방식. 넷째, 기존의 한국드라마에 없었던 인물 캐릭터의 대담한 변화. 다섯째, 한⋅중 양국이 공감할 수 있는 문화적 동질성 구현과 한 · 중 전통문화의 융합 등이 “별에서 온 그대”의 성공에 큰 영향을 주었음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 그 파급 효과로는 중국 치킨 시장, 명품 브랜드, 해외 직구 시장, 출판 시장, 부동산 시장, 미용 시장 등의 활성화로 분석되었다. 그 외 한국 주류 시장, 라면 시장 및 새로운 한국 관광 콘텐츠 상품 개발 등에도 큰 영향을 미쳤음을 발견했다. 이처럼 “별에서 온 그대”는 단순히 드라마 한 편의 인기에 그친 것이 아니라 중국에서 “별에서 온 그대 경제학”이란 용어를 탄생시킬 만큼 경제 전반에도 큰 영향을 미쳤고 중국 문화계에도 깊은 성찰의 화두를 남겨주었음을 알 수 있었다. In February 2016, the exclusive rights to stream “Descendant of the sun,” the big hit Korean drama, were sold to the Chinese internet video-streaming site “Aiqiyi(爱奇艺)” at the price of $230,000 per episode, one of the most expensive deals ever. Such popularity would have been impossible without “My Love from the Stars.” The syndrome of “My Love from the Stars” made a significant contribution to the opening up of a new horizon for the Korean wave, and in leading a significant increase in the export price of Korean dramas. The number of viewings of the last episode of “My Love from the Stars” passed 200 million, passing 4 million for the first time in Chinese history according to the “Baidu Index (the number of real-time searching hits).” This number has continued to increase, reaching 5 billion as of 2016. In this regard, this paper thoroughly analyzes the success factors of “My Love from the Stars,” which had such a great impact on the current popularity of “Descendant of the Sun,” and its ripple effects, from both the cultural and economic aspects. In the results, several main success factors of “My Love from the Stars” are shown, such as the publicity effect of the Chinese opinion leaders, the diversity of genres and fusion, the unique descriptive method of the documentary style, the bold change of the characters, the fusion of the traditional culture of Korea and China, etc. The ripple effects can be seen in the revitalization of the Chinese poultry market, the luxury brand market, overseas purchasing agent services, the apartment remodeling industry, and the fashion and beauty market. In addition, we have seen a big impact on the Korean drinks industry, the instant noodle industry, the development of tourism attractions, etc.

Socioeconomic Factors and Abortive Outcomes of Clinical Pregnancy After Embryo Transfer in the Setting of Universal Health Insurance Coverage of IVF

Background: In vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET), an expensive option for infertile couples, started to be fully covered by the National Health Insurance (NHI) from October 2017 in South Korea. We investigated the association between woman’s socioeconomic status (SES) and abortive outcomes in pregnancies after IVF-ET in the setting of universal coverage of the treatment. Methods: Using the NHI database in South Korea, we conducted a retrospective cohort study of all women who achieved clinical pregnancy after ET between October 2017 and February 2019. A total of 44,038 clinical pregnancy episodes of 29,847 women who underwent ET were analyzed. We used employment status, income in percentiles, and living in the Seoul capital area as indicators of SES. Relative risks (RRs) for abortive pregnancy outcomes were calculated for each socioeconomic stratum, using log-binomial regression models included woman’s age, body mass index, fasting blood glucose, fresh ET, month of ET, and history of smoking. Results: While most pregnancy outcomes were live births (n = 30,783, 69.9%), 11,215 (25.5%) cycles ended with abortion or early pregnancy loss, 1,779 (4.0%) cycles were ectopic pregnancy, 45 (0.1%) were coded as molar pregnancy, and 224 (0.5%) were fetal death in utero or stillbirth. The risk of overall abortive outcomes was higher when a woman was unemployed (adjusted RR, 1.08; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.05–1.11) or living in a nonSeoul capital area (1.11; 95% CI, 1.08–1.14). The association between relative income level and abortive outcomes was close to null. Living outside Seoul capital area was associated with the greater risk of abortive outcomes especially in younger women. Conclusion: Unemployment and living in non-capital areas were associated with a higher risk of abortive outcomes among pregnancies after ET, even in the setting of universal coverage of IVF-ET. This suggests potential impact of socioeconomic position on the IVF-ET pregnancy.

Effects of hip flexion by sitting posture on trunk muscle activity and balance in healthy adults

Objective: This study compared trunk muscle activity and balance by applying hip joint flexion according to sitting posture tohealthy adultsDesign: Cross-sectional studyMethods: Twenty-four healthy adults (18 men and 6women) were instructed to perform the hip flexion while assuming two typesof posture (erect sitting and slump sitting). EMG (Electromyography) data (% maximum voluntary isometric contraction) were recorded three times from the rectus abdominis, interanl oblique abdominis, external oblique abdominis and erector spine ofparticipant’s both side and the mean values were analyzed. Results: During hip flexion in erect sitting, rectus abdominis, internal oblique abdominis and external oblique muscles showed a statistically significant difference compared to hip flexion in a slump sitting position (p<0.05). In addition, the left and rightdeviation of hip flexion in the erect sitting position was found to be smaller than that of hip flexion in the slump sitting position. Conclusions: In this study, we compared the trunk muscle activity and balance of hip flexion in a standing sitting position and a bent sitting position. However, since only a temporary effect was verified with the cross-sectional study design, it is thought that an experimental study that can verify the long-term effect is needed in the future. Therefore, it is thought that it would be better toanalyze by adding more variables than this study.

In this paper, we prove that the DOB-based feedback controller can guarantee arbitrarily large but bounded gain margin and phase margin. This fact reminds that the DOB-based controller plays the role of robust controller even in the classical sense. We present a design procedure that ensures desired gain/phase margin even for the plants that have parametric uncertainty.
