<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Miscanthus bio-oil was subjected to hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) with Pd/C at different temperatures (250, 300 and 350°C) and times (30, 45 and 60min) to investigate the chemical modification of micro- and macromolecules in bio-oil. Four main products – char, gas and two immiscible oils (light and heavy oil) – were obtained from the HDO reaction. Yields of heavy oil as a targeting product of HDO varied from 60% to 13%, whereas those of gas and char were ranged from 7% to 36% and 6% to 17%, respectively. Water content was estimated to<1% and heating value was 26–31MJkg<SUP>−1</SUP>.</P> <P>Reduction of unstable oxygen-containing compounds such as acids (2-hydroxy-butanoic acid), aldehydes (furfural), alcohols (butanedial) and sugars (levoglucosan) were characteristic in heavey oil. Apart from hydrogenation and deoxygenation, micromolecules in bio-oil were plausibly modified to stable ketones, esters and saturated components via demethoxylation, dealkylation, decarbonylation, dehydroxylation and ring opening.</P> <P>Macromolecular lignin fragments (referred to as pyrolytic lignins in bio-oil and phenol polymers in heavy oil) were extracted and subjected to several analyses. Approximately 60% of the pyrolytic lignins were decomposed into low molecular weight compounds during HDO reaction. Moreover, essential functional groups, OCH<SUB>3</SUB> and phen-OH groups attached to pyrolytic lignin, were severely modified during HDO reaction.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Miscanthus bio-oil was subjected to hydrodeoxygenation in the presence of Pd/C. </LI> <LI> Structural modification of chemical components in bio-oil was investigated. </LI> <LI> Reduction of unstable oxygen-containing components were characteristic. </LI> <LI> Micromolecules were modified to stable ketones, esters and saturated components. </LI> <LI> Depolymerization of macromolecular lignins were verified during hydrodeoxygenation. </LI> </UL> </P>

Purpose : In this study, we would like to apply oral sensory play therapy program to children with cerebral palsy who have sensitive oral senses to find out the effect on oral sensory ability, oral function, performance ability and sociality. Methods : The subjects of this study were 20 children diagnosed with cerebral palsy, and 10 experimental groups and 10 control groups. Oral sensory play therapy programs, including oral sensory programs, were conducted in the experimental group, while only oral sensory programs were conducted in the control group. Oral Sensory Treatment Level was used to identify the sensory profile and the overall oral function of the oral function was used, and the performance and satisfaction of Canadian occupational performance measure (COPM) were examined to find out the performance of the work, and social skills were examined for social skills (SMS). Results : The level of oral sensory treatment, overall oral function, work performance and sociality all increased significantly in the experimental group, but the oral sense and oral function in the control group were significantly increased, but not significantly in the case of work performance and sociality. Conclusion : Through this study, we confirmed that oral sensory play therapy program is an effective arbitration method for oral sensation, oral function, work performance and social enhancement of children with cerebral palsy. Based on the results of this study, the study of arbitration protocols for children with cerebral palsy with oral sensory problems will have to be more active.
75세 이상 노인을 위한 심폐기능 강화 융복합 작업치료 호흡훈련 프로그램이 수단적 일상생활활동, 우울, 수면의 질에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 75세 이상 고령 노인대상으로 심폐기능 강화 융복합 작업치료 호흡훈련 프로그램을 실시하여, 수단적 일상생활활동, 우울, 수면의 질에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보았다. 30명을 대상으로 실험군 15명과 대조군 15명으로 나눈 후 12주간 주 3회 60분간 총 36회기를 실시하였다. 중재전과 후의 수단적 일상생활활동 수행력을 알아보기 위해 수단적 일상생활활동 자기평가지수(Frenchay Activities Index: FAI)를 사용하였고, 우울을 알아보기 위해 우울척도 검사(Beck Depression Inventory: BDI)을 실시하였으며, 수면의 질을 알아보기 위해 한국판 피쳐버그 수면의 질 지수(Korea version of the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index: PSQI-K)를 사용하였다. 중재 결과 실험군에서 수단적 일상생활활동의 수행력의 증가, 우울의 감소, 수면의 질의 향상을 보였다. 따라서 심폐기능 강화 융복합 작업치료 호흡훈련프로그램은 75세 이상 노인의 수단적 일상생활활동, 우울, 수면의 질에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 사실을 알 수 있었다. This study applied a convergent occupational therapy respiratory training program aimed at enhancing the cardiopulmonary functions of elderly subjects aged 75 or older, thereby examining the effects of the training on their instrumental activities of daily living (IADL), psychological stability, and quality of sleep. Thirty subjects were equally and randomly assigned to either a control group or an experimental group. They received the training three times per week for 60 minutes each time for a total of 12 weeks. In order to examine their IADL performance, psychological stability, and quality of sleep before and after the intervention, Frenchay Activities Index, Beck Depression Inventory and Korean version of the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, respectively, were employed. After the intervention, the experimental group experienced improved IADL performance, psychological stability, and quality of sleep. The result of this study shows that the convergent occupational therapy respiratory training program aimed at improving the cardiopulmonary functions of elderly people aged 75 or older positively affects their IADL, psychological stability, and quality of sleep.
Morphology-controlled Au nanostructures for efficient and selective electrochemical CO2reduction

<P>Electrochemical conversion of CO2has been considered as a promising method for producing value-added chemicals. Here, we report a systematic study on the formation of Au nanostructures<I>via</I>electroreduction of anodic Au(OH)3for selective CO production by an electrochemical CO2reduction reaction (CO2RR). First, we demonstrate the influence of electrochemical process parameters on the formation of Au nanostructures and Au(OH)3. The Au nanostructure morphologies can be tuned into either pore-like or pillar-like structures by controlling the anodic potential and/or reduction current density. This distinctive morphology is associated with the electric-field-assisted transport of Au<SUP>3+</SUP>at/near the Au(OH)3/Au interface. Additionally, we report the catalytic activity of the morphology-controlled Au nanostructures in the CO2RR. Both Au nanostructures exhibit significantly higher CO selectivity at a low overpotential than the untreated Au film due to the high density of grain boundaries which can assist with faster stabilization of the CO2˙<SUP>−</SUP>intermediate. In particular, the pore-like structures have a higher CO selectivity than the pillar-like ones at 280 mV overpotential although the pillar-like Au nanostructures have a higher CO selectivity and CO producing current density at high overpotentials. This potential-dependent CO2RR performance of the two different Au nanostructures is discussed.</P>
A Case of Venlafaxine-Induced Interstitial Lung Disease

A patient treated with venlafaxine for major depression developed an interstitial lung disease (ILD) with the characteristic clinical, radiological and pathological features of chronic hypersensitivity pneumonitis. A high resolution computed tomography scan demonstrated ground glass opacity, mosaic perfusion with air-trapping and traction bronchiectasis in both lungs. The pathological findings were consistent with a nonspecific interstitial pneumonia pattern. Clinical and radiological improvements were noted after the discontinuation of venlafaxine and the administration of a corticosteroid. This report provides further evidence that the anti-depressant venlafaxine can cause ILD.

Background: It is well known that the major etiologies of peptic ulcer disease are the colonization of Helicobacter pylori ( H. pylori) of the gastric mucosa and drug use such as aspirin / antithrombotic agents and non-steroidal anti-infl ammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Methods: A consecutive series of patients who had PUB and admitted to the hospital between 2006 and 2012 were retrospectively analyzed. A total of 232 patients were enrolled in this study, and we compared the clinical characteristics and outcomes according to the different etiologies - H. pylori-associated / drug-induced / combined / H. pylori-negative, drug-negative (idiopathic). We also evaluated the severity using Blatchford score and Rockall score between four groups. Results: In bleeding peptic ulcer, the frequency of H. pylori association was 63.8% (148/232), whereas idiopathic cause was 8.6% (20/ 232). Drug-induced PUB was not typical of male-dominant pattern and more common in older patients. When it compared with H. pylori-associated PUB, it had the longer duration of admission and larger sized ulcers. Moreover, Blatchford score and Rockall score were the higher. When idiopathic PUB compared with H. pylori associated PUB, it was more common in old patients and had the larger ulcers. Also, re-bleeding rate after initial hemostasis was the higher. Combined type PUB was similar clinical outcome of drug-induced PUB. Conclusions: Clinically, drug induced PUB might appear to have the more severe clinical outcome than H. pylori-associated PUB, whereas infection of H. pylori seemed to play an insignificant role of severity of PUB. Idiopathic PUB had a tendency of re-bleeding after initial hemostasis.
