마스크 상의 거친 표면을 정의하기 위해서 Monte-Carlo 방법이 적용되었다. 극자외선 마스크의 거친 표면 함수, 즉 power spectral density 에 의해 표현된 무작위적인 표면의 높이 변화는 상면에서의 전기장을 계산하기 위해서 재정의 되었다. Feynmann의 접근 방식과 유사한 산란에 대한 일반식을 유도하였고, 이는 결상과정에서 마스크의 단차상의 거친 측면에 의한 효과를 알아보기 위해서 적용되어졌다. 거친 표면과 완전히 편평한 표면에 대한 전기장의 위상과 진폭 변화 정도를 비교하기 위해서 다중 산람 문제 또한 여러 다른 패턴에 대하여 이 논문에서 다뤄졌다. The Monte-Carlo Method is adopted to define the roughness of the mask structure. A random surface height variation described by power spectral density for the rough surfaces of an estreme ultraviolet (EUV) mask is to be redefined to calculate the field in the image plane. A general explicit formula of the scattering, which is analogous to Feynman's approach, is derived, and it is adapted to the EUV mask structure to evaluate the effect of the surface roughness of the side wall of the mask topography on the image formation. The multiple random scattering problems are dealt with the different pattern types in order to compare field variations in phase and amplitude with the ideal flat surface.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are common mesenchymal tumors that arise in the wall of the gastrointestinal tract. We report a case of obscure gastrointestinal bleeding due to a GIST of the jejunum successfully documented by videocapsule endoscopy (VCE) and single-balloon enteroscopy (SBE). A 36-year-old man with hematochezia was referred for further evaluation of no evidence of bleeding focus on esophagogastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy. A VCE showed a suspicious ulcerative hyperemic mass that located in about 1 hour apart from duodenal second portion. SBE revealed a nonbleeding 4×2 cm mass with an ulcer at the proximal jejunum. The patient underwent laparoscopic resection without complication. Histological examination revealed a well circumscribed, dumbbell-shaped firm mass comprised of spindle cells. Immunohistochemical staining for CD 117 was diffusely positive, whereas staining for S-100, CD 34 and MIB-1 was all negative. It was confirmed to be a low-grade GIST at the proximal jejunum.
Ecopathological Analysis of Apple stem grooving virus-K Harboring Talaromyces flavus

Pear black necrotic leaf spot (PBNLS) on pear trees (Pyrus pyrifolia) is caused by a Korean isolate of Apple stem grooving virus (ASGV-K). Yellow spots were detected in Phaseolus vulgaris (kidney bean) and Chenopodium quinoa which were grown near the diseased pears in year 2000 through 2003. The ASGV-K, the causative agent of PBNLS, was detected from the symptoms of the diseased kidney bean plant and C. quinoa. ASGV-harboring fungi were also isolated from symptomatic plants and from soils surrounding the infected plants. The ASGV-harboring fungus was identified and characterized as Talaromyces flavus. Ecopathological studies showed that the number of ASGV-harboring fungi on the pear leaves was not correlated with differences in temperature or severity of symptoms. Additionally, there was no difference in fungus frequency among the orchard locations or different host plants. Although the frequency of fungi isolated from the soil was not affected by changes in temperature or location, the fungi occurred at higher densities in the rhizosphere than in the plants themselves.

It is well-known that some species of lizard have an exceptional ability known as caudal autotomy (voluntary self-amputation of the tail) as an anti-predation mechanism. After amputation occurs, they can regenerate their new tails in a few days. The new tail section is generally shorter than the original one and is composed of cartilage rather than vertebrae bone. In addition, the skin of the regenerated tail distinctly differs from its original appearance. We performed a proteomics analysis for extracts derived from regenerating lizard tail tissues after amputation and found that endoplasmin (ENPL) was the main factor among proteins up-regulated in expression during regeneration. Thus, we performed further experiments to determine whether ENPL could induce chondrogenesis of tonsil-derived mesenchymal stem cells (T-MSCs). In this study, we found that chondrogenic differentiation was associated with an increase of ENPL expression by ER stress. We also found that ENPL was involved in chondrogenic differentiation of T-MSCs by suppressing extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) phosphorylation. [BMB Reports 2022; 55(5): 226-231]

The pathogenicity to pear trees and other experimental hosts of the Apple stem grooving virus Korean isolate (ASGV-K) carried by a fungal vector, Talaromyces flavus was examined. ASGV-harboring T. flavus induced mild symptoms on virus-free pears. Symptom severity was intermediate between pears showing typical PBNLS and virus-free pears. Ten cultivars of Phaseolus vulgaris showed 35%-90% infectivity by direct infiltration into leaves and roots by ASGV-harboring T. flavus. Application of fungal cultures to soils showed 0%-70% infectivity depending on the P. vulgaris cultivar. Sap extracted from ASGV-infected Chenopodium quinoa induced similar symptoms on P. vulgaris at 25 days after inoculation. Similar symptoms were also detected on P. vulgaris which were inoculated with ASGV-harboring T.flavus. When healthy P. vulgaris leaves were challenged with sap extracted from P. vulgaris leaves infected with ASGV-harboring T. flavus, typical symptoms were observed. These data suggest that T. flavus mediates the transfer of ASGV to host plants.

To evaluate the clinical outcomes according to radiologic appearance for congenital lymphangioma diagnosed prenatally in our institution We retrospectively analyzed the medical records of all fetuses and infants with the congenital lymphangioma identified prenatally. We included 73 patients who diagnosed between January 2004 and December 2012 at ASAN Medical Center. All of the patients underwent radiologic (magnetic resonance imaging or ultrasonography) assessment before and after birth. According to radiological appearance, patients were grouped into 4 types; single cystic (SI; n=12), macrocystic (MA; n=14 ), microcystic (MI; n=18) , and cavernous (CA; n=7 ). Among the 73 fetuses who diagnosed with congenital lymphangioma by prenatal ultrasonography, 56 were born in our hospital. Of the 56 infants, 51 confirmed the diagnosis of lymphangioma by postnatal imaging or pathologic finding. The median gestational age at diagnosis was 28.2 weeks of gestation (range, 15.3-38.5 weeks) and at delivery was 38.4 weeks (range, 36.2-40.2 weeks). The followings are the locations and types of lesions : head/neck (n=19; SI,3; MA,5; MI,8; CA,3), trunk (n=18; SI,5; MA,5; MI,7; CA,1) and extremities (n=14; SI,4; MA,4; MI,3; CA,3). The effectiveness of sclerotherapy in SI, MA, MI and CA types was 83%, 100%, 53% and 14%, respectively. Complications included airway obstruction, infection, lymphorrhea, facial nerve palsy, torticollis and limited range of motion. Those complications occurred in 8 (16%) infants, 5 were CA type (62%), 2 MA type (25%) and 1 was MI type (13%). Fifteen patients (SI, 1; MA, 2; MI, 7; CA, 5) who received primary sclerotherapy required surgical excision. Complications after surgical excision were more serious compared with sclerotherapy. From this study, we suggest that prenatal ultrasonographic findings help to predict the prognosis and optimize treatment modalities.

Embryonic stem(ES) cells are immature cells that have the ability of self-renewal, and they give rise to neurons, astrocytes and oligodendrocytes. In order to investigate their ability to improve cognitive function in an animal model of stroke, we examined the effect of ES cell transplantation on the ischemia-induced impairments of learning and memory that were observed in the Morris water maze for rats. Human embryonic stem(hES) cells(Mb03, as registered in the NIH) established from frozen-thawed blastocysts were partially differentiated according to the 4-/4+ protocol using retinoic acid. The formed embryoid bodies were dispersed by trypsin and a total of 3x104 cells were grafted into the hippocampus(CA1) 2 weeks after ischemia. Implantation of the hES cells produced significant reversals of the ischemia-induced deficit in learning and memory on the spatial learning task. These results demonstrated that grafted hES cells improved spatial recognition, and they may have valuable therapeutic potential as a treatment for stroke.
Intrauterine therapy for macrocystic congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation of the lung

Objective To report on our experiences with thoracoamniotic shunting and/or the injection of a sclerosing agent (OK-432) to treat fetuses diagnosed with macrocystic congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation (CCAM) of the lung. Methods A retrospective study was undertaken in six fetuses with macrocystic CCAM at our institute that had been confirmed by postnatal surgery between August 1999 and January 2012. Results Six fetuses that had been diagnosed with macrocystic CCAM were analyzed. The median gestational age at diagnosis was 23.5 weeks (range, 19.5-31.0 weeks), and at the time of primary treatment was 24.0 weeks (range, 20.5-31.0 weeks). The mean size of the largest cyst at the initial assessment was 42.5±15 mm. Four fetuses were associated with mediastinal shifting, and one also showed fetal hydrops. All fetuses underwent a shunting procedure within the cysts, one case among them was also treated with OK-432. After the completion of all procedures, the mean size of the largest cyst was all decreased (14.2±12 mm). The median gestational age at delivery was 38.0 weeks (range, 32.4-40.3 weeks). All of the newborns underwent the surgical resection at a median age of 6 days (range, 1-136 days) and are currently doing well without any complications. Conclusion We suggest that intrauterine decompression therapy to manage fetal macrocystic CCAM is recommendable treatment for good perinatal outcome.
