In this paper, a novel solution and application of the red Y2O3:Eu3+ dopant phosphor for enhancing color rendering index to more 86 for multi-chip white LED lamps (MCW-LEDs), which have correlated color temperature (CCT) of 7700 K, 6600 K, 5600 K, are presented. Then the effect of the concentration of Y2O3:Eu3+ phosphor on the color rendering index (CRI) is simulated, analyzed and demonstrated. After that the lumen output of MCW-LEDs depended on concentration Y2O3:Eu3+ phosphor is discovered. The lumen output has a decrease tendency at large weight range due to the enhancement extinction coefficient, according to Mie-scattering theory. Simulation results provided important conclusions for selecting and developing the phosphor materials in MCW-LEDs manufacturing.
Segmentation of Books and Characters for Book Recognition System of Robot Intelligence

In this paper, we propose an approach to the book recognition system where the books on bookshelves are detected and recognized by line segment, MSAC based dominant vanishing point detection, Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) based text recognition and semantic network. Our system can be equipped to robot intelligence to handle some works such as arranging, searching books which had formerly done by human beings. For the first researching stage, we make the comprehensive layout of the system and focus on segmenting process including book regions, books and characters segmentation.

Recently, high-power light-emitting diodes (LEDs) have attracted great attention on the study and made remarkable progress. In this paper, method for enhancing uniform white light of a multi-chip white light LED by adding silicon dioxides in the phosphor layer is presented. Firstly, theory of study by using Mie theory and Monte Carlo ray-tracing is proposed. And then simulation and experimental results by using package LightTools software are performed. The experimental results and theory have the same direction: 1) the angular color temperature in narrow angles is much higher than that in wider angles for the non-SiO2 case and 2) in significantly reducing CCT deviation of a multi-chip white light LED by adding silicon dioxides in the phosphor layer.

The photoswitching poly(pyrene-1-ylmethyl-methacrylate-random-methyl methacrylate-random-methacrylate spirooxazine) was synthesized via atom transfer radical polymerization and characterized by proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR), gel permeation chromatography (GPC), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, UV-visible spectroscopy, and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The obtained copolymer exhibited the capability of erasable and rewritable photoimaging, making it a potential candidate for optical data storage materials. Moreover, the copolymer also showed the sensing ability for cyanide anions effect in aqueous solutions.

In this research, three organic photocatalysts, 4-(4H-dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'- d]pyrrol-4-yl)-N,N-diphenylaniline, 4-(pyren-1-yl)-4H-dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'-d]pyrrole and 4-(6b,10-dihydroperylen-3-yl)-4H-dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'-d]pyrrole have been successfully synthesized through C-N coupling reactions. The chemical structures and the optical properties of the obtained organic photocatalysts have been characterized via 1H NMR,13C NMR, elemental analysis, and UV-Vis spectroscopy. Next, these dithieno[3,2-b:2′,3′-d]pyrrole-based photocatalysts have been used for the polymerization of methyl methacrylate, 2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate and tert-butyl methacrylate monomers under 365 nm UV irradiation, resulting in (meth)acrylate polymers with controlled molecular weights and low polydispersity indexes.

Radar absorbing materials (RAMs) for practical applications are expected not only to have strong microwaveabsorption and a wide absorption bandwidth, but also to be lightweight, to have a fine thickness and acceptablestructural performance, as well as being cost-effective. Although the dispersion of carbon-nanofillers in polymermatrices is a key factor determining the microwave absorbing properties of the composites, there have few studieson these effects. To our knowledge, to date, the realization of pristine multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)/polymercomposites as RAMs in industrial production has been restricted, due to high CNT contents or large composite thicknesses. Thus, in this work, two MWCNT dispersion processing methods, a solution process with surfactant-aid anda ball-milling dispersion, were investigated to fabricate pristine MWCNT/epoxy nanocomposites. The effects of thedifferent dispersion processes, CNT loading, and composite thickness on CNT dispersion in the matrix, were observedby TEM, and the electrical conductivity and X-band absorbing performance of the composites were assessed. Theuse of an ionic surfactant to aid the dispersion of CNTs in solution resulted in the best RAMs, with a good compromiseamong effective X-band absorption, small composite thickness, and very low CNT content. The ball-millingmethod also resulted in materials with a low CNT content and microwave absorbing performance acceptable forindustrial applications. Moreover, it offers a very simple and efficient route suitable for low-cost, mass productionof RAMs. The results showed that by facile approaches of dispersing pristine commercial MWCNTs in an epoxyresin matrix, composites of only 2-3 mm thickness and as little as 0.25-0.5 wt% CNT loading could be obtained,with a relatively wide X-band operating bandwidth and maximum absorptions exceeding 18-25 dB.

Two new indirubin-3`-oxime derivatives, indirubin-3`-[O-(3-bromoprop-1-yl)-oxime] (2) and indirubin-3`-[O-(methoxycarbonylmethyl)-oxime] (3) were synthesized. Their structures were confirmed by ESI-MS and NMR spectroscopic method. Both of them (5 μg/mL) significantly caused a elevation of cell growth, alkaline phosphate activity, and mineralization in osteoblastic MC3T3-E1 cells (p<0.05).
