인터넷 환경은 놀랄만한 속도로 발전하고 있다. 사용자의 수가 늘어나고 그와 동시에 자료의 양도 폭발적으로 늘어나고 있음에 따라, 정확한 정보를 찾고 불필요한 정보를 필터링 하는 기술이 요구되기 시작하였다. 그 대표적인 기술이 시맨틱 웹(Semantic Web)[1] 으로 시맨틱 웹은 웹상의 정보에 메타데이터를 추가로 정의하여 사람 뿐 아니라 컴퓨터가 그 정보의 의미를 파악 할 수 있도록 하는 것이다. 이러한 시맨틱 웹을 위해서는 기계가 의미를 이해할 수 있도록 온톨로지(Ontology)를 먼저 구축해야만 한다. 온톨로지는 자원과 개념의 관계를 정의해 놓은 일종의 사전으로 이를 기술하기 위한 언어로는 RDF, OWL등이 있다. 온톨로지 데이터가 증가함에 따라 온톨로지 저장소의 크기가 증가하게 되면 성능을 위해 지역적으로 온톨로지 저장소를 분산해야 한다. 이에 따라 본고는 분산 환경에서의 통합된 질의에 대한 연구를 바탕으로 확장 가능하고 유연한 구조의 분산 온톨로지 모델을 제시한다.
Pyridoxine-derived bicyclic aminopyridinol antioxidants: synthesis and their antioxidant activities

<P>A few facile synthetic pathways for bicyclic aminopyridinol antioxidants are presented. Attachment of a long alkyl chain to the bicyclic pyridinol scaffold was established using ester linkage. Non-substituted pyrrolopyridinols and 1,3-oxazine-fused pyridinols were also synthesized as novel antioxidant scaffolds. Antioxidant activities were measured by a radical clock method and new compounds prepared are comparable to the best bicyclic aminopyridinol antioxidants.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>A few facile synthetic pathways for bicyclic aminopyridinol antioxidants are presented. We have studied a means to control the composition of nickel-iron thin films. By changing current and voltage applied to a electroplating electrolyte we could manipulate the relative concentration of nickel and iron in the thin films, which caused variations of coercivity, squareness, and saturation magnetic field. As we increase the content of iron in the thin films by using potentiostatic and galvanostatic plating, the grain size was increased and the coercivity was reduced.

<P>Precise control of the oxidation state of transition-metal oxides, such as copper, is important for high selectivity of CO<SUB>2</SUB> reduction in an aqueous condition to compete with the reduction of water. The phase of copper oxide nanofibers was controlled by predictive synthesis, which controls the nanoscale gas-solid reaction by considering thermodynamics and kinetics. The driving force of the phase transformation between the different oxidation states of copper oxide is calculated by comparing the Gibbs free energy of each of the oxidation states. From the calculation, the kinetically processable window for the fabrication of Cu<SUB>2</SUB>O in which monophase Cu<SUB>2</SUB>O can be fabricated in a reasonable reaction time scale is discovered. Herein, we report the monophase Cu<SUB>2</SUB>O nanofiber photocathode, which photoelectrochemically converted CO<SUB>2</SUB> into methanol with over 90% selectivity in an aqueous electrolyte, and a hierarchical structure is developed to optimize the photoactivity and stability of the electrode. Our work suggests a rational design of the calcination strategy for precisely controlling the oxidation states of transition metals that can be applied to various applications in which the phase of the materials plays an important role.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

In this paper, we analyzed how the subject content, theory of knowledge, and international mindedness dealt with in the IB DP mathematics course <Mathematics: analysis and approaches> accept Islamic culture. We claim that IB mathematics (1) minimizes or omits the achievements of Islamic mathematicians, and (2) ignores ancient Egyptian and Old Babylonian mathematics, the roots of modern mathematics. IB Mathematics refers to Chinese, Japanese, Indian, or European mathematicians, ignoring the roles of great mathematicians such as al-Khowarizmi, al-Karaji, Ibn al-Haytham, Omar Khayyam, and al-Kashi. IB mathematics education gives deep mathematical and cultural values to ancient Greece from the point of view of the axial age, and attributes the calculus values of ancient Babylonia and Fatimid Dynasty to Newton and Leibniz in Europe. We discussed how it is desirable to accept Middle East and Islamic mathematical culture from a critical point of view.
