Design Transforming Dress based on pneumatic systems
Jung Whan Sung,Yu Heebum,Ra Gunju 중앙대학교 영상콘텐츠융합연구소 2014 TechArt :Journal of Arts and Imaging Science Vol.1 No.2
Stage costume is one of the most important factors for accomplishing the actor’s character in the musical. When costume with electronic devices is directed in proper situation of play, the costume can be used for presentation equipment more (often? Effectively?) than the costume itself. Generally, light emitting materials (LED, EL Wire) are used to direct musical with costume. But those materials are difficult to be adapted depending on the lighting system in the theater and restricted in terms of expressing contents of the musical. On the other hand, this transforming dress was made to transform shape of the dress physically. In this case, it is possible to change the dress dramatically without being limited by the lighting system. However, there seem to be other restrictions such as the size and the weight of the equipment. On this paper, we suggest the production method of transforming dress with air tube and cylinder. Using this method, we use pneumatic cylinder as actuator for movement of frames while cloth bones form their shape.
Histone deacetylase 3 is selectively involved in L3MBTL2-mediated transcriptional repression
Yoo, Jung-Yoon,Choi, Kyung-Chul,Kang, HeeBum,Kim, Young Jun,Lee, Jeongmin,Jun, Woo Jin,Kim, Mi-Jeong,Lee, Yoo-Hyun,Lee, Ok-Hee,Yoon, Ho-Geun Elsevier 2010 FEBS letters Vol.584 No.11
<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>This is the first report that L(3)mbt-like 2 (L3MBTL2) specifically interacts with the histone deacetylase domain of histone deacetylase 3 (HDAC3) via its MBT domain. Here, we show that L3MBTL2 selectively interacts with HDAC3, but not other class I HDACs. An in vitro peptide-binding assay demonstrated the specific association of HDAC3 with methylated histone-K20 tail and L3MBTL2. Furthermore, depletion of HDAC3 resulted in a decrease of methylated K20-H4, as well as an increase in acetylated histone H3. Consequently, HDAC3 knock-down selectively suppressed L3MBTL2-mediated transcriptional repression. Taken together, our results reveal the concerted action of both HDAC3 and L3MBTL2 in histone deacetylation and methylation-dependent transcriptional repression.</P><P><B>Structured summary</B></P><P>MINT-7719975: <I>L3MBTL2</I> (uniprotkb:Q969R5) and <I>HDAC3</I> (uniprotkb:O15379) <I>colocalize</I> (MI:0403) by <I>fluorescence microscopy</I> (MI:0416)</P><P>MINT-7719941, MINT-7719921: <I>L3MBTL2</I> (uniprotkb:Q969R5) <I>binds</I> (MI:0407) to <I>HDAC3</I> (uniprotkb:O15379) by <I>pull down</I> (MI:0096)</P><P>MINT-7719991: <I>HDAC3</I> (uniprotkb:O15379) <I>physically interacts</I> (MI:0915) with <I>L3MBTL2</I> (uniprotkb:Q969R5) by <I>anti bait coimmunoprecipitation</I> (MI:0006)</P><P>MINT-7719958: <I>L3MBTL2</I> (uniprotkb:Q969R5) <I>physically interacts</I> (MI:0915) with <I>HDAC3</I> (uniprotkb:O15379) by <I>anti tag coimmunoprecipitation</I> (MI:0007)</P><P>MINT-7719897: <I>HDAC3</I> (uniprotkb:O15379) <I>physically interacts</I> (MI:0915) with <I>L3MBTL2</I> (uniprotkb:Q969R5) by <I>two hybrid</I> (MI:0018)</P>
A Case of Long-Term Complete Remission of Advanced Gastric Adenocarcinoma with Liver Metastasis
Rim, Ch'angbum,Lee, Jung-Ae,Gong, Soojung,Kang, Dong Wook,Yang, Heebum,Han, Hyun Young,Kim, Nae Yu The Korean Gastric Cancer Association 2016 Journal of gastric cancer Vol.16 No.2
We report the case of a patient with gastric adenocarcinoma with multiple liver metastases. This patient showed complete remission for more than 68 months after S-1/cisplatin combination chemotherapy and radical total gastrectomy. The patient, a 63-year-old man, presented with dyspepsia and difficulty in swallowing. Endoscopic findings showed a huge ulcero-infiltrative mass at the lesser curvature of the mid-body, extending to the distal esophagus. Biopsy revealed a poorly differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma. An abdominal computed tomography scan demonstrated multiple hepatic metastases. S-1/cisplatin combination chemotherapy was initiated, and following completion of six cycles of chemotherapy, the gastric masses and hepatic metastatic lesions had disappeared on abdominal computed tomography. Radical total gastrectomy and D2 lymphadenectomy combined with splenectomy were performed. The patient underwent three cycles of S-1/cisplatin combination chemotherapy followed by tegafur-uracil therapy for 1 year. He remained in complete remission for more than 68 months after surgery.
PINK1 positively regulates HDAC3 to suppress dopaminergic neuronal cell death
Choi, Hyo-Kyoung,Choi, Youngsok,Kang, HeeBum,Lim, Eun-jin,Park, Soo-Yeon,Lee, Hyun-Seob,Park, Ji-Min,Moon, Jisook,Kim, Yoon-Jung,Choi, Insup,Joe, Eun-Hye,Choi, Kyung-Chul,Yoon, Ho-Geun IRL Press 2015 Human molecular genetics Vol.24 No.4
<P>Deciphering the molecular basis of neuronal cell death is a central issue in the etiology of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. Dysregulation of p53 levels has been implicated in neuronal apoptosis. The role of histone deacetylase 3 (HDAC3) in suppressing p53-dependent apoptosis has been recently emphasized; however, the molecular basis of modulation of p53 function by HDAC3 remains unclear. Here we show that PTEN-induced putative kinase 1 (<I>PINK1</I>), which is linked to autosomal recessive early-onset familial Parkinson's disease, phosphorylates HDAC3 at Ser-424 to enhance its HDAC activity in a neural cell-specific manner. PINK1 prevents H2O2-induced C-terminal cleavage of HDAC3 via phosphorylation of HDAC3 at Ser-424, which is reversed by protein phosphatase 4c. PINK1-mediated phosphorylation of HDAC3 enhances its direct association with p53 and causes subsequent hypoacetylation of p53. Genetic deletion of PINK1 partly impaired the suppressive role of HDAC3 in regulating p53 acetylation and transcriptional activity. However, depletion of HDAC3 fully abolished the PINK1-mediated p53 inhibitory loop. Finally, ectopic expression of phosphomometic-HDAC3S424E substantially overcomes the defective action of PINK1 against oxidative stress in dopaminergic neuronal cells. Together, our results uncovered a mechanism by which PINK1–HDAC3 network mediates p53 inhibitory loop in response to oxidative stress-induced damage.</P>

Third Person Action Game is a genre receiving continuous interest from many game enthusiasts. The most distinctive feature about third person action games is that the user can actually see the character as well as the various actions, which in turn increases user engagement. Many games are developed using game engines. However, this study designs a third person action game using only DirectX library instead of the specialized techniques in game engines. By doing so, the game development costs will be minimalized. The study also uses several basic algorithms in order to process the various events and to make the animation effects more efficiently managed in the graphic device. The performance superiority is demonstrated by the results of the study.
