Deep learning-based scalable and robust channel estimator for wireless cellular networks

In this paper, we present a two-stage scalable channel estimator (TSCE), a deep learning (DL)-based scalable, and robust channel estimator for wireless cellular networks, which is made up of two DL networks to efficiently support different resource allocation sizes and reference signal configurations. Both networks use the transformer, one of cutting-edge neural network architecture, as a backbone for accurate estimation. For computation-efficient global feature extractions, we propose using window and window averaging-based self-attentions. Our results show that TSCE learns wireless propagation channels correctly and outperforms both traditional estimators and baseline DL-based estimators. Additionally, scalability and robustness evaluations are performed, revealing that TSCE is more robust in various environments than the baseline DL-based estimators.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to quantitatively assess multiphasic personality inventory results of narcolepsy affecting mental health using military personality inventory in Korea. Method We registered the 19-year-old men who visited the Military Manpower Administration from February 2010 to January 2013. Results Among demographic characteristics, both narcolepsy and control groups are 19-year-old male. Education level and socioeconomic status are higher(χ2=4.23, p=0.04 ; χ2=17.94, p=0.001) in control group. BMI is higher(t=-3.10, p=0.002) in narcolepsy group. Parents relationship showed no difference between control and narcolepsy groups(χ2=7.57, p=0.06). Among validity scales, score of faking good subscale was higher(t=4.368, p<0.001) in control group, of faking bad subscale was higher(t=-2.497, p=0.013) in narcolepsy group, of infrequency subscale showed no difference(t=-0.466, p=0.642) between control and narcolepsy groups. Among neurosis scales, the score of somatization, depression, anxiety, and personality disorder subscales were higher in narcolepsy group, respectively(t=-4.721, p<0.001 ; t=-5.189, p<0.001 ; t=-6.068, p<0.001 ; t=-2.161, p=0.032). Among psychopath scales, the score of paranoia subscale was higher in narcolepsy group(t=-2.795, p=0.006), of schizophrenia subscale showed no difference (t=-0.687, p=0.493). Conclusion According to MPI results, we suggest that narcolepsy patients are more concerned with their somatic symptoms, more depressive and anxious, have more introverted or impulsive tendency and paranoid traits.
Who creates value in a user innovation community? A case study of <uri> MyStarbucksIdea.com</uri>

<P>Purpose - Successful open innovation requires that many ideas be posted by a number of users and that the posted ideas be evaluated to find ideas of high quality. As such, successful open innovation community would have inherently information overload problem. The purpose of this paper is to mitigate the information problem by identifying potential idea launchers, so that they can pay attention to their ideas. Design/methodology/approach - This research chose MyStarbucksIdea.com as a target innovation community where users freely share their ideas and comments. We extracted basic features from idea, comment and user information and added further features obtained from sentiment analysis on ideas and comments. Those features are used to develop classification models to identify potential idea launchers, using data mining techniques such as artificial neural network, decision tree and Bayesian network. Findings - The results show that the number of ideas posted and the number of comments posted are the most significant among the features. And most of comment-related sentiment features found to be meaningful, while most of idea-related sentiment features are not in the prediction of idea launchers. In addition, this study show classification rules for the identification of potential idea launchers. Originality/value - This study dealt with information overload problem in an open innovation context. A large volume of textual customer contents from an innovation community were examined and classification models to mitigate the problem were proposed using sentiment analysis and data mining techniques. Experimental results show that the proposed classification models can help the firm identify potential idea launchers for its efficient business innovation.</P>
VIP-targeted CRM strategies in an open market

Nowadays, an open-market which provides sellers and consumers a cyber place for making a transaction over the Internet has emerged as a prevalent sales channel because of convenience and relatively low price it provides. However, there are few studies about CRM strategies based on VIP consumers for an open-market even though understanding VIP consumers' behaviors in open-markets is important to increase its revenue. Therefore, we propose CRM strategies targeted on VIP customers, obtained by analyzing the transaction data of VIP customers from an open-market using data mining techniques. To that end, we first defined the VIP customers in terms of recency, frequency and monetary (RFM) values. Then, we used data mining techniques to develop a model which best classifies and identifies infiluential factors customers into VIPs or non-VIPs. We also validate each of promotion types in the aspect of effectiveness and identify association rules among the types. Then, based on the findings from these experiments, we propose strategies from the perspectives of CRM dimensions for the open-market to thrive.

Hydrogels are regarded as a golden standard for tissue engineering applications. However, low mechanical strength and stretchability are few of the limiting factors of natural derived hydrogel. To overcome this issue, we have conjugated two natural polymers, collagen and alginate to take advantage of both covalent and ionic bonding. Briefly, various of weight fraction of collagen and Alginate has been conjugated (Col-Alg) and analyzed for the elasticity. Consequently, the dual crosslinked hydrogel exhibited a significantly higher fracture stress indicating in high elasticity.
Social media comparative analysis based on multidimensional scaling

As social media draws attention as a business tool, organizations, large or small, are trying to exploit social media in their business. However, lack of understanding the characteristics of each social media led them to develop a naive strategy for dealing with social media. Thus, this study aims to deepen the understanding by comparatively analyzing how social media users perceive (the image of) each social media. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Blogs, Communities and Cyworld were chosen for our study and data from 132 respondents were analyzed using multidimensional scaling technique. The results show that there are meaningful differences in users' perception of social media attributes, which are grouped into four; information feature, motivation, promotion tool, usability. It is also analyzed whether such differences can be found between male and female users. (Such differences are also analyzed in both male and female users' perceptions.) Further, we discuss some implications of the research results for both practitioners and researchers.
Organizational Characters and Financial Performance

This study examines the relationship between organizational characters and financial performance. Using a machine learning technique, we construct the measures of organizational characters similarly to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator from anonymous employees’ online reviews. We present evidence that organizational characters correlate with financial performance. These results are robust to alternative specifications to gauge organizational characters. Empirical evidence suggests that employee satisfaction links organizational characters and financial performance.
